Itinerary
Your evening excursion begins in central Florence. Join your guide aboard a comfortable coach and start your journey through the olive groves and green hills of the Tuscan countryside.
Arrive in Siena and enjoy time to explore independently, checking out the central Piazza del Campo or the Duomo, a stunning Gothic cathedral with interior frescoes and alternating stripes of white and black marble.
After watching the sunset, hop back in your coach and head to the region of Chianti, made famous by its ruby-red wine. There, visit one of the area’s prominent wine estates, set amidst a Tuscan farm. Take a guided tour of the cellars and learn about the production and aging process that gives the Chianti blends a world-class flavor.
Then settle into a table in the main farmhouse or, weather permitting, outdoors for your dinner. Pair your dinner with up to four glasses of the estate’s wine, learning about the characteristics of each from your guide as you sip.
After your evening of wining, dining, and sightseeing concludes, you are returned to central Florence in your coach.

The whole tour and programme of this event were great! The tour guide was patient, knowledgeable and very polite. She took us through some of the most exciting parts of Siena and provided us with information and fascinating historical knowledge which you can't really get just by walking around the city on your own. However, some people preferred to spend the afternoon shopping and wanted to explore the city at their own pace without much of a historical and cultural context, so the option not to stay with the guide was offered. Part of the group really appreciated such freedom so kudos for suggesting this option!
Then for the main part of the evening - the winery was phenomenal, the hospitality of the owners was truly touching and their passion for wine was really impressive! The dinner was absolutely delicious (best lasagna I've ever tasted!) and when all of this is accompanied by 4-5 different sorts of wine for each meal while you're surrounded by the beautiful nature of Tuscany... well, you can't go wrong by booking this tour!
We were a big group of 11 people and every one of us enjoyed every second of the experience. We highly recommend it!

Fantastic tour, Ana was great.
Winery was beautiful and wine was great. Siena is such a beautiful town

Our small group tour driver, Diego, was lovely (helpful and informative). The dinner included a fairly good selection of home-grown food (although I would have liked some olives).

This tour was not what we hoped for.
Siena was pretty however felt disconnected.
2 hours of just wandering around.
Not a lot of info given .
Would have been better to have some sort of restaurant or wine tasting set up for us.
It would have been nice to have some clearer direction.
Winery Food- substandard.
The pasta n meat sauce was like dogfood. Mystery meats and slimy salami. Tastings and meal indoors - no windows ( never got pictures outside) we were never told that we’d not get a chance to walk around the vineyard/ grounds.
wine- meh . Nothing really special.
Got Left after tour drop off in desolate street with no directions back to taxi area .
Nice tour guide but overall not worth it.

This was an awesome addition to our girls trip to Florence. Siena is so beautiful and worth the visit… just wish we had a little more time to explore

We were a bit disappointed as the photo show vineyard photos which didn't happen and they was no tour as such of the wine vats etc just straight through to dinner. Also don’t understand why the bus had to park so far away from the meeting point in Sienna as some older people were really struggling and there were buses a lot closer.

My husband and I had a great time exploring Siena and shopping. Then we had a fantastic meal at the winery and learned about the Chianti wines we drank. Pretty rides to and from the places we traveled as well.

Please carefully review the description of this tour as I did not. You will be escorted from the bus to the centre of Siena and then left on your own for 2 hours. There is NO guided tour! It would have been appreciated to at least be given a map of where to find the most significant sights as well as the location of public washrooms.
The wine tasting and dinner was okay. The steak was not made to order. Everyone’s slices were made rare and I prefer mine more cooked. The farm’s wines are more expensive than others you will find in grocery stores and fuel stops along the highway. The winery owners did not offer a friendly welcome and were very matter of fact with their entire presentation. The best part of the “tour” was having dinner with other friendly travellers.

Our tour guide was informative and most helpful along the way! She ensured that all were safe and accounted for.

This tour ended up being a small group of around 14 and it was a hot day, the mini bus was very uncomfortable due to lack of air-conditioning as it took an hour to get to Sienna and an hr back. Def put a damper on this trip as we we were all very uncomfortable....sad to say as I was really looking forward to this.
Cortney_K, Jul 2024
The winery is very passionate and that comes through during the wine tasting as they describe different things about the wine they produce. It was some fantastic food as well!
Nicola_W, Jul 2024
Overall it was good. They basically just drop you off in siena for two ours with some very basic facts and off you go. I would just recommend researching before you go places you want to see.
The vineyard and wine tasting is good! Foods good, wines good! You definitely don’t go there to get drunk, not even tipsy but it’s a good experience and the food is good!
They definitely upsell you and the wines arnt cheap!
I wouldn’t suggest to go not with children because all of the value of the tickets in the wine tasting.
You can just look up vineyards in the area and take a tour going direct with them

Amazing views of Siena and the Chianti wine region. Good wine and dinner, amazing hosts and guide. The night was memorable and would definetly recommend!
Dee_E, Jun 2024
Great information on the grapes in the vineyard and an excellent meal was served with the wine tasting offering a different taste for each course.
Corinne_S, Jun 2024
Siena was a wonderful little city and duomo spectacular!
The winery, dinner, wine tasting was top notch. The owner was engaging and made the experience a memorable trip.
My negatives: the air-con was not on in the bus from Siena to the winery. About 45 to 60 minutes . When we could take no more we complained and they turned it on. At this point we were all sweaty messes. Turns out the other bus from same company had the same situation.
I would also mention that you have very little time to wander the winery or take sunset pics. The ad for this your made it look like you would bask in the glory of the sunset. But not so much.

This was my 2nd wine tour from Florence and I was disappointed compared to the first experience wirh a different guide. I booked an English tour and got English/Italian/Spanish. We went to Siena and stayed for 2 hours which was too long and then went to the winery and did a walk from the front door to the rable and this was considered our tour. We had 3 small glasses of wine that equaled 1 whole glass when you put them together. The food was just ok which took forever between dishes to come out.
Gabriela_P, May 2024
Directions to meeting place are clear, the bus was clean and driver Marco an excellent and safe driver. Marti, the tour lead was great, friendly and clear. I do think the tour description is misleading. We had under two hours in Sienna, I kind of wish we could be on our soon sooner than where the meeting place was because some people were slower than others and it was valuable time.
When we went to the restaurant, there was no tour of the cellar, you just walk through it and the dinner was pretty uneventful. Though the owners and waiters were clearly doing their best. There were two other tours there as well as normal clientele so the wine tasting experience really wasn’t there. Parts of the grounds were closed off and there was some kind of party on the grounds so we felt more like we were disturbing. There were no great sunset pictures or walking through the grounds. We also ate inside so it just felt like a regular restaurant. I don’t think the price does it justice and it’s obvious the restaurant/ wine owners do it so that people buy at their gift shop. Not at any time did we feel pressured but I was not impressed by the wine at all. Also the dessert was biscotti and the meat was very chewy. Wouldn’t recommend for dinner, maybe just drinks?

A great tour. Siena was wonderful and the winery easily accommodated my husband’s gluten free allergy.
David_I, May 2024
Siena was really nice to see, a very unusual city. Enough time to Rome around. Wine tasting and dinner were very nice and relaxed.
Mary_V, May 2024
The wine tasting and meal were both excellent. A little bit of a ride to Siena and back to Florance.
bferris52, May 2024
Enjoyed it very much and would recommend this trip. The trip to the winery was excellent, The dinner was top notch.
The only negative was that the bus parked so far away from the plaza in Sienna. They could have easily driven us up to the top. There were y other buses there.
Santo_F, Apr 2024
Very nice tour. The tour guide was very friendly. First stop was Siena were we had time to walk around the town. 2nd was the winery with dinner. Outstanding
Paul_D, Oct 2023
Very disappointed with the tour. Maybe I should have booked a different one. The tour guide was very nice, but didn’t have to do much. She led us from the bus into Siena, and then told us to meet back in 2 hours. The wine experience was poor at best. The staff showed a total lack of interest - didn’t walk us thru the meals and wine. Very little commentary from them. They missed a great opportunity as their place is beautiful. But the execution was awful. I’ve had great luck with Viator but this one was clearly the worst.
Response from Host, Nov 2023
Dear Paul,
Thank you for your feedback.
We are sorry to learn that our tour didn’t meet your expectations.
This is a beautiful and relaxing tour where the tour leader brings our customers to explore the amazing city of Siena and to taste the flavours of the Chianti wine other than a delicious typical meal in a winery surrounded by the Tuscany hills.
Our tour leader provides detailed information about Siena and its highlights on board the bus but then we give some free time to explore the city at client’s leisure following the suggestions of our expert tour guide.
We carefully select our wineries so we are terribly sorry to read that something went wrong with them. We will for sure forward your comment to the owners so that they can improve their services. However, we are pleased to learn that you enjoyed the location, thank you!
We really hope that you can join us again despite this experience.
Have a great day,
CiaoFlorence Staff

We had the opportunity to explore the beautiful medieval city of Sienna and later a wine testing accompanied with dinner.
KATHLEEN_M, Oct 2023
Lisa was fantastic! We learned much about Sienna and wine.🍷 The country side was beautiful! despite the rain. Loved the winery, its vineyards were huge really some thing. The winery inside and outside was very impressive. Loved the family and the wine was outstanding really! And the accompanying food was very delicious! Highly Recommended! Would do it again!!!
Dave_E, Oct 2023
There was an accident in the highway that delayed our arrival in Sienna. This meant that it was already dark when we arrived at the winery so we were unable to tour it. While the accident was outside the tour company’s control, i would have expected them to survey the group to find out of folks preferred to cut short the time in Sienna so that we could arrive at the winery in daylight.
strachanb, Oct 2023
Disappointment
If we had a do over we would either skip sienna or do a train trip ourselves, then do a separate winery trip.
Tour guide was ok, but provided the bare minimum of information on sienna and the Chianti region. Don’t expect a great “ guided” tour.
Tour was 50-60 people. Something had led me to think this would be a smaller group, but probably misunderstanding on my part.
Sienna is interesting. Will appeal differently to everyone depending on your interests. Lots of shops. Nice plaza to have a drink or bite to eat and people watch. Didn’t go into the Duomo. It is amazing from the outside. Many little streets to explore. Late afternoon definitely less crowded than mid day.
Unfortunately someone was late getting to the meeting place in sienna so delayed getting to the winery by 20 minutes or so.
The winery experience was very disappointing. Write up said:
- [ ] Winery tour - 100% didn’t happen
- [ ] “Up to 4 glasses” of wine with dinner - received 4 very small tastings. 2 white, one Chianti. A thimble of dessert wine. Sure they were all in glass, but you won’t feel as though you had even one “glass” to drink.
- [ ] “Prepared table among the vineyards”. Well since it was completely dark it was probably a good thing we were all seated at one long table inside the barrel room. Elbow to elbow.
- [ ] Winery food was ok. Portions smallish which is ok for me however a big eater may leave hungry. Appetizer of salami with 2 tiny pieces of cheese was good, the accompanying crostini with olive oil hard as a rock. lasagna was fair, thinly sliced pork and potato plate was interesting although very salty. Dessert was a biscotti with the thimble of dessert wine.
All in all we were disappointed and would not recommend.
Glenn_J, Oct 2023
Stop in Siena was lovely however arrived at winery too late in pitch dark unable to see surrounding views, castle etc.
Dinner is not really a 4 course made out to be in the brochure with cheese & meats to start, a basic Lasagna followed by sliced pork and potatoes. No vegetables or salad ( even on a share basis would be ok) Dessert was really disappointing....Biscotti biscuit only. Not really value for money unfortunately.

We were on the 9/23/23 English/Spanish tour with Sebastian. Before the group left Florence, it was stressed to us the importance of being on time at the meeting places for departure and that because it was a dual language crowd, Sebastian would speak in one language and then the other and that everyone should be quiet so that we would all get the information he was giving. It was also stressed that being on time and being quiet was "being respectful not only to him, but to each other." Everything with the tour was fine until we left Siena, which is a very lovely city.
Everyone was on time at the meeting place in Siena except for the bus driver and we were left to stand in a parking lot for about 20 minutes. Seeing the sunset was supposed to be part of the experience and by being that late, we missed it as well as seeing some of the winery that we were visiting in some daylight. The winery and dinner were both fine and I felt somewhat sorry for the sommelier because no one was paying attention to what he was saying and it was very noisy.
Things really went downhill on the bus on the way back to Florence. Apparently, Sebastian's job was over and being "respectful" to each other was no longer considered necessary. There was a large group who were downright rude, yelling and singing. There was no attempt to suggest that we be "respectful" to each other and in fact, it was almost as though the bus driver and Sebastian were egging them on by playing music over the intercom. I'm fine with yelling and singing - have at it - just not on an hour long bus ride.
