Meet your guide in central Florence, and hop aboard a minivan with your group that will transport you to the Tuscan hills. Once outside of the city, begin with a safety briefing and orientation to ensure that you feel comfortable riding before you hit the road. This small group tour is limited to 15 people to keep the experience as intimate as possible.
Then saddle up on your single- or double-seater Vespa and begin your ride along the scenic hillside, with stops for photo opportunities and the guided visit of two wineries. Your guide will lead you to a castle for a relaxing lunch, including tastings of famous Chianti wines and fine olive oils, all locally produced.
After satisfying your taste buds, you’ll head back toward Florence, enjoying the fresh air and panoramic views before your Vespa tour concludes.
Please note: You must present a valid drivers license, but do not need a motorcycle license. Children 12-18 years can ride as a passenger. It is highly recommended that you have previous driving experience on a Vespa, scooter or motorcycle.

- If you want to book multiple vespas (each for sole use with just one rider), please put through single bookings
- A valid driving license is required (although you do not need a motorcycle license), make sure you have it with you on the tour, and you must be at least 18 years of age to drive, at least 13 years to be a passenger
- Previous experience is not required but advantageous and highly advised. The tour operator reserves the right of final judgement in client participation of actual scooter driving or in client being a passenger, or to discontinue scooter use at any point of the tour. Any participant unable to drive scooters safely may ride double with a partner, or on the guide’s scooter if available or continue the tour on board one of our support vehicles (the Tuscany Tuk Tuk or the minivan, depending which is available) if unable to be a safe passenger as well. No refund will be granted in this case. Our first and foremost concern is everyone's safety
- The Single Vespa and Double Vespa tour options entitle clients to ride the original Piaggio Vespas, but Piaggio Zip scooters (which are lighter and easier to ride) are also available
- A THIRD-PARTY insurance for CIVIL LIABILITY is INCLUDED in the price of the tour. As for any vehicle rental, please note that clients will be given two options to choose from, to cover vehicle damages (either one of these two IS MANDATORY in order to rent the Vespa): subscribe an additional insurance (€20,00 per vehicle, not refundable) or sign for a guarantee deposit of €500,00 on their credit card. NO CASH PAYMENT, ONLY CREDIT CARDS.
- Travelers are required to have a credit card.
- The maximum load the Vespa can tolerate is 170 kg / 374 lbs (whether one or two people, bags included). At check-in, Towns of Italy reserves the right to exclude participants from this tour if these requirements are not met. No refund will be due
- This tour option entitles client to ride the iconic original PIAGGIO VESPA or Electric VESPA, but PIAGGIO ZIP scooters (which are smaller) are also available (SMART OPTION)
- For the double Vespa two persons are required (1 driver & 1 passenger)
- RAIN POLICY: The tour runs rain or shine (but please see below). The tour departure will never be cancelled due to rain. We will do our best to proceed with the tour, avoiding the rain and thus possibly carrying out the tour with our minivan until and if the rain should stop and street conditions will guarantee a safe ride. If it does not stop raining, the entire tour will be conducted in the safety and comfort of the minivan. Guest options on rainy days: 1) Proceed with the tour hoping for clearing weather – PARTIAL RIDE or NO RIDE due to heavy RAIN Customers can decide to proceed with the tour hoping for clearing weather with the understanding that if scooters are not ridden at all due to rain, or if the Vespa tour is dramatically abbreviated due to rain, customers will NOT be granted any refund or discount. We will do our best to get you on a scooter, weather permitting. Please note that clients' safety and comfort are of utmost priority, and proper rain gear is mandatory for guests choosing to "ride in the rain". We ask clients to be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour departure, to check the weather conditions and choose accordingly. No-shows will not be refunded.
- To preserve the authentic open-air feel of your eco-friendly ride, our Topolino e-cars do not have traditional air conditioning. Two small fans are provided in each car to keep you comfortable while you enjoy the Tuscan breeze. Operative also in spring and autumn, our vehicles ensure the comfort of always traveling warm and dry, so you can fully enjoy the ride in every season.
- Vegetarian or Vegan Options available upon request. Guests with allergies or specific dietary requirements are kindly requested to notify the company at least 48 hours prior to departure to allow the necessary arrangements to be made.

This was a once in a lifetime experience. We had so much fun on the Vespa tour. Our guide, Ela, was everything that you can ask for. The entire staff was very helpful, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to be around. They made sure that everyone was comfortable on the Vespa's before we hit the road. We saw way more than I thought that we would. We highly recommend this tour.

Absolutely loved our Vespa wine tour in Tuscany! The guides were friendly, safety-focused, and made sure everyone was comfortable before heading out. Our group of only 8 was perfect, and the Tuscan countryside was absolutely stunning to explore by Vespa—it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Just note that this is more of a Vespa tour of Tuscany than a wine tour. The wine tasting was only about 30 minutes, followed by dinner and one glass of wine. There was no vineyard/cellar tour, so the bulk of the experience is riding through the countryside. Not a bad thing at all, just depends on what you’re looking for!
This was such a great experience the tour guides were kind and professional. They were very careful with the Vespa tour. We had a delicious lunch with pasta and wine, and the wine tasting was delicious as well.

No drinking and driving. You drive first and then wine taste!
We were all tested on our ability to safely handle the Vespa - many on our tour (including myself) were unable to safely do so. Not to worry, we were not left behind. We were offered to drive or be a passenger with another a Fiat 500 (Topolino).
I drove the Topolino (mouse car) 💝💝💝 which was so much fun, I think even more than the Vespa!
We made 2 stops, one to sightsee, and one to enjoy a coffee if you wanted. Both were great.
The lunch and wine tasting at the elegant winery was delicious. The location was so beautiful.

The ability to drive a scooter is necessary but the guys gave expert instruction. This was one of the most fun excursions we took in Italy. The tour guides were excellent. The terrain was breathtakingly beautiful and the Vespa performed well.

Have ever done. It gave us a chance to get out of the busy city and see the amazing Chianti countryside! The team: Hillary, Yo, and driver Jack were amazing. Lots of info and kept us all safe! There were 6 vespas plus the guides and it was nice for a smaller group. We had a great lunch with some wine sipping plus great photo ops! It’s a long day but so fun!
We had the best time on our Vespa wine tour! It was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Florence. The ride through the beautiful Tuscan countryside, the scenery, the wine, and the entire experience were unforgettable. Heather, Emmanuela, Lorenzo, and Cristiano were amazing. They were friendly, respectful, patient, and made us feel comfortable and well taken care of the entire time. We laughed so much and genuinely enjoyed every part of the day. I would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Florence!
Crew was very friendly and informative. Also not intimidating for anyone new to riding motorcycles. Views and food were awesome. Only criticisms would be that the meeting point has no signage so we were unsure if it was the right place at first - but just follow Google Maps and you should be good. Lastly, we would have liked to have a little more time cruising on the Vespas through the countryside, but was very fun nonetheless.
One of the best experiences I have had in Europe! What great scenery riding through the gorgeous Italian countryside. The crew is very pleasant and accommodating. The only knock is the scooters need replacing as they are a bit "well used" but still worth it.

As someone with no prior experience riding a Vespa, getting the hang of it was more challenging than I expected. My anxiety likely would have been high, which was the opposite of what I wanted for an enjoyable experience. Luckily, the tour offered the option to ride a scooter or a Fiat. I opted for the Fiat, and it was so much fun driving through the countryside; I also appreciated not having to wear the very uncomfortable helmet! Keep the Fiat option in mind if you book the tour but decide against the Vespa.
Even though the Vespa was the advertised feature, the wine tasting and lunch were my favorite parts. It was a great experience that I am glad I attended. Driving through Tuscany, Italy, and drinking wine was a complete vibe!
Well let me just tell you - not usually into taking tours and nevertheless when you have previously rented a Vespa in Rome on your own. I was skeptical at first but let me just tell you that you will never be disappointed, the ride the scenery and stopping points where absolutely out of this world. A tour you will never regret. The staff will always look for your safety.

Might have been the highlight of our entire trip! Very exciting to ride the Vespas through the beautiful country side and Lela and Lorenzo were were fantastic guides. We enjoyed a great lunch and wine tasting with the other guests and really enjoyed sharing a meal with the charming Lela. I would recommend this excursion to anyone who likes a little bit of excitement and enjoys the camaraderie of doing fun things with others. Our guides made it extra special and it was an incredible day.

This Vespa tour was, without question, one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. My sister and I did this together, and we both agreed it was one of the most fun experiences we’ve ever had.
The tour guides were exceptional. They were friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and made everyone feel comfortable from start to finish. The route through the Tuscan countryside was absolutely breathtaking. Riding a Vespa through the rolling hills of Chianti is something we’ll never forget.
The winery stop was fantastic. The wine was incredible, the olive oil tasting was delicious, and the traditional Tuscan meal was exceptional. Everything felt authentic, relaxed, and beautifully done.
If you’re looking for an experience that combines adventure, stunning scenery, amazing food and wine, and outstanding hospitality, this is it. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Florence, and we’d do it again in a heartbeat. Five stars all the way!
This trip was incredibly well-organized, Yo and Chiara and Luciano are saints for taking non-locals on scooters around the countryside! Due to the understandable time restrictions of the day, the scooter lesson is quite short and you need to be able to decide quickly if you're comfortable with the driving — all of the staff were wonderful about providing equally fun alternatives to the Vespas if you didn't feel up to it (I ended up riding along with my partner but part of me wishes I'd taken a Topolino, they're so cool!) We felt very cared for throughout the day, including when our Vespa started to act up (the only one in the group that did) and a guide stayed with us to make sure things were ok and our scooter was switched out later on in the visit. This was a fun and unique way to experience a bit of the Chianti area and we're so glad we booked, it was absolutely a highlight of our trip. Thanks again to the team!
An unbelievable way to experience the countryside outside Florence on Vespas. The staff was attentive, provided detailed instructions on how to properly drive the Vespa and how we would navigate the roads. Sarah and Yo were great guides who shared a lot information about the area and also made us feel safe even as we sped down the countryside roads. Finishing the day off with a delicious lunch at the winery (in the air conditioning on a hot day) and then an informative wine and olive oil tasting. My adult children said best experience on trip. Van ride to and from Florence was in a nice large van. Perfect day experiencing Italy outside of the city.
We loved this experience for the Vespa tour! We got to ride it a lot longer than we had expected! Be warned - you will have to pass a driving test in order to drive! It’s not hard, but plan on someone being able to pass it! The Tuscan meal we had at a winery was delicious! I wish we could have tried more wines, but that’s a personal preference! It was a great day!
Best activity we booked while visiting Florence! We went 2 adults and 2 teens and had an absolute blast. The tour is SUPER complete, and worth every peny. The guides were friendly and the views food and drinks were are AMAZING! 100% Recommend!
This was probably my favorite tour during my trip. So much fun driving the fiat e-car. The tour guides ( Chiara and Yo) were amazing.

Tour guides and driver were great. Scenery was beautiful, Food and wine were amazing. Read all the info they send. I unfortunately hadn’t needed my license for two weeks and only carried my passport so was not able to drive. I was able to take some amazing pictures.
Tomas was a great guide and had amazing energy. I appreciate that we had a Vespa driving test before we took it out on the roads. Both my husband and I struggled and we were able to switch to driving a topolino instead for no extra cost. I’m grateful for the flexibility! The lunch and wine tasting afterward was short but a fun time.
This was incredibly fun and driving through the countryside is amazing. If you have zero Vespa/motorcycle experience be aware you will be going 25 mph on roads with cars whizzing by. I didn’t mind but it wasn’t my partners favorite. If it sounds like you’ll be nervous you might struggle. If you’re excited to do it, it’ll be great.

Working out the logistics of the Vespa may take some time, but I promise that the entire tour is worth it no matter your outcome. By the time you get to the winery, everything is set up to replenish you, raise your spirits even higher, and ease into the afternoon with a full stomach and a full heart!
Guides were fun and outgoing. Very patient for those who were new to riding Vespas. They offered solutions to those who didn't feel comfortable on Vespas. Tour was fun, dinner was great. Highly recommend!
