Meet your guide in central Florence, and hop aboard a minivan with your group that will transport you to the Tuscan hills. Once outside of the city, begin with a safety briefing and orientation to ensure that you feel comfortable riding before you hit the road. This small group tour is limited to 15 people to keep the experience as intimate as possible.
Then saddle up on your single- or double-seater Vespa and begin your ride along the scenic hillside, with stops for photo opportunities and the guided visit of two wineries. Your guide will lead you to a castle for a relaxing lunch, including tastings of famous Chianti wines and fine olive oils, all locally produced.
After satisfying your taste buds, you’ll head back toward Florence, enjoying the fresh air and panoramic views before your Vespa tour concludes.
Please note: You must present a valid drivers license, but do not need a motorcycle license. Children 12-18 years can ride as a passenger. It is highly recommended that you have previous driving experience on a Vespa, scooter or motorcycle.

- If you want to book multiple vespas (each for sole use with just one rider), please put through single bookings
- A valid driving license is required (although you do not need a motorcycle license), make sure you have it with you on the tour, and you must be at least 18 years of age to drive, at least 13 years to be a passenger
- Previous experience is not required but advantageous and highly advised. The tour operator reserves the right of final judgement in client participation of actual scooter driving or in client being a passenger, or to discontinue scooter use at any point of the tour. Any participant unable to drive scooters safely may ride double with a partner, or on the guide’s scooter if available or continue the tour on board one of our support vehicles (the Tuscany Tuk Tuk or the minivan, depending which is available) if unable to be a safe passenger as well. No refund will be granted in this case. Our first and foremost concern is everyone's safety
- The Single Vespa and Double Vespa tour options entitle clients to ride the original Piaggio Vespas, but Piaggio Zip scooters (which are lighter and easier to ride) are also available (Smaller scooter option)
- A THIRD-PARTY insurance for CIVIL LIABILITY is INCLUDED in the price of the tour. As for any vehicle rental, please note that clients will be given two options to choose from, to cover vehicle damages (either one of these two IS MANDATORY in order to rent the Vespa): subscribe an additional insurance (€20,00 per vehicle, not refundable) or sign for a guarantee deposit of €500,00 on their credit card. NO CASH PAYMENT, ONLY CREDIT CARDS.
- Travelers are required to have a credit card.
- The maximum load the Vespa can tolerate is 170 kg / 374 lbs (whether one or two people, bags included). At check-in, Towns of Italy reserves the right to exclude participants from this tour if these requirements are not met. No refund will be due
- This tour option entitles client to ride the iconic original PIAGGIO VESPA or Electric VESPA, but PIAGGIO ZIP scooters (which are smaller) are also available (SMART OPTION)
- For the double Vespa two persons are required (1 driver & 1 passenger)
- RAIN POLICY: The tour runs rain or shine (but please see below). The tour departure will never be cancelled due to rain. We will do our best to proceed with the tour, avoiding the rain and thus possibly carrying out the tour with our minivan until and if the rain should stop and street conditions will guarantee a safe ride. If it does not stop raining, the entire tour will be conducted in the safety and comfort of the minivan. Guest options on rainy days: 1) Proceed with the tour hoping for clearing weather – PARTIAL RIDE or NO RIDE due to heavy RAIN Customers can decide to proceed with the tour hoping for clearing weather with the understanding that if scooters are not ridden at all due to rain, or if the Vespa tour is dramatically abbreviated due to rain, customers will NOT be granted any refund or discount. We will do our best to get you on a scooter, weather permitting. Please note that clients' safety and comfort are of utmost priority, and proper rain gear is mandatory for guests choosing to "ride in the rain". We ask clients to be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour departure, to check the weather conditions and choose accordingly. No-shows will not be refunded.
- To preserve the authentic open-air feel of your eco-friendly ride, our Topolino e-cars do not have traditional air conditioning. Two small fans are provided in each car to keep you comfortable while you enjoy the Tuscan breeze. Operative also in spring and autumn, our vehicles ensure the comfort of always traveling warm and dry, so you can fully enjoy the ride in every season.

The entire staff was very helpful, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to be around. They made sure that everyone was comfortable on the Vespa's before we hit the road. This was definitely the best thing we did in Italy. Everything was so well organized and safety was definitely their number one priority. But having fun and was definitely second. The tour guides were funny and friendly and driving a Vespa is maybe the coolest thing you can do. There was a lot of fun activities. Of course the ride was the best but we also had wine tasting and lunch and stopping for some beautiful scenery and an 11th century church. Highly recommend.

Meet up location was very easy to get to. transit bus was clean and roomy. Both tour guides VERY knowledgable about the Tuscan region. Felt very safe riding the along the winding roads. Stopping along the way and getting a glimpse of how they produce olive oil and wine was wonderful. The Tuscan lunch was the perfect ending to the day.

My boyfriend and I booked the Topolino for what ended up being a rainy November day. It also ended up being just us two, so Francesco alone led our tour and it was phenomenal, even in the rain! Francesco is so kind and engaging and showed us some really amazing spots but also left time for us to explore on our own! After dropping off our vehicles, we ended the tour with the wine & olive oil tasting (and bought some for home) and lunch was a delicious pasta and dessert pastry. All in all, the sights were gorgeous, the driving was fun, and the food was great. Cannot recommend enough!

I had an absolutely unforgettable experience taking a tour around the Chianti area. Even though I was unable to pass the exam to drive a Vespa and ended up driving a charming little Topolino car instead, the tour exceeded every expectation. The scenery in Tuscany is breathtaking, and exploring it in such a fun and unique way made the experience truly magical.
What made the tour so special was how much you get to learn about the area. Our guide shared fascinating stories about the history, culture, and traditions of Tuscany, which made every stop even more meaningful. We visited multiple picturesque towns, winding through scenic vineyards and olive groves, and had the chance to do wine and olive oil tastings, complete with tours of both production sites. We even explored a small authentic Italian town, which gave a real sense of local life and charm that you cannot experience from a car or bus.
Every moment of the tour was thoughtfully planned, and our guide ensured it was fun, safe, and effortless. This was by far the highlight of our trip and one of the most immersive experiences I have ever had in Italy. I cannot recommend this tour highly enough to anyone visiting the Tuscany region. Whether you ride a Vespa or drive one of the classic cars, it is an incredible way to see the heart of Chianti, taste the local flavors, and truly experience Tuscany.

Great experience! Definitely worth it! Our guides were Chiara and Carlotta and they were awesome. Tour starts with 30 minutes bus ride to Vespa location where you practice riding. Guides were very helpful. The ride on the Vespas was around 1.5 hours through the country roads. Recommend being a passenger so you can take in the amazing views! ;) lunch at a local winery was delicious! Around 6 hours total but was the perfect amount. We started at 10:30am and back into Florence at 4pm and had plenty of time to enjoy the rest of the day. Went in mid-October so the weather was perfect as well.

We only started the vespa riding about 2 hours into the timeslot as we were delayed waiting 15 minutes for 1 late couple. Another couple were also late and took a taxi to the training area. The delay in them starting training also caused more delay. The ride was nice although the 15 min stop in a small town seemed unnecessary as there wasn't much to see or do (we used the atm and look at the town pharmacy - no other shops). The wine tasting was nice (just 2 wines) but moment after they bombarded us with forms to order wine. The dinner was all vegetarian (bean bruschetta, broccoli pasta and choc mousse). We ate a 2nd dinner when back in Florence as felt is wasn't that substantial. A meat dish would have been good. The drive on the way back was awful. The driver was driving so fast and we felt very unsafe. however views nice and the tour guides were lovely. Recommend to have ridden a vespa before

A great way to see the Tuscan countryside with the wind in you face. Best thing I did from Florence to date. Tour guides were amazing and very knowledgeable of the Tuscan history. At the end you have lunch n plenty of wine in a beautiful Tuscan winery

This was a 10/10 experience! The guides were so informative and personable, which made the trip even better. The only guide we recall is Haider, but there was a female guide as well but we did not catch her name. You take a bus to a parking lot to get you out of the city and familiar with the vespas prior to taking them out on the road. We appreciated the professionalism from the guides as they will make sure anyone who is driving is competent with the vespas to ensure everyone is safe. Then, you hit the road and get to spend a good amount of time to drive approx 20 miles around Tuscany! We made a few stops to some picturesque places to take in the view and learn about the areas. Afterward, you get to try some wines and olive oil at a local vineyard. To top everything off is a nice meal at a local restaurant with the group! We had so much fun interacting with everyone and would 100% do this again! Highly recommend going in the afternoon- watching the sunset over the rolling hills is spectacular!

Beautiful time driving through the country side. My mom & I drove the topolino which was so fun! My brother rode a vespa and he loved it. The meal was delicious; it was at a beautiful winery where we had a nice tasting of wine and olive oil. After the tasting, we were able to have some goods shipped back home!

We had such a memorable time on the Tuscan Vespa tour! Riding through the country was awesome — such a fun way to experience the countryside. The route gave us gorgeous views around every turn, and the pace was just right for enjoying it all.
Lunch at the winery was a real highlight. The food and wine were excellentl. The weather wasn’t on our side — it ended up being a bit wet — but the team handled it well, and honestly, it just added to the adventure.
Overall, a fantastic way to see Tuscany with some added excitement. Highly recommend if you want something authentic, scenic, and a little different from the usual tours!

The guides did an expert job at explaining how to ride a Vespa and keep safe on the road. We all did a practice loop in the courtyard before going out onto the road. It was such a fabulous day riding through the beautiful Tuscan countryside, then lunch, wine and olive oil tasting. Highly recommend this tour, in fact have already recommended to a friend visiting Florence in a week. Viator was also very helpful and solved my booking/payment issue.

Clear instructions and thorough check of our ability to drive a Vespa before we departed. We spent more time driving our vespas throughout the Tuscan countryside, than I thought we would. So many “pinch me” moments! And then to top it all off, an amazing 3 course meal and wine tasting experience at a local winery. 10/10!

We had such a great time even though I was not able to ride the Vespa, the guides were so patiently trying to teach me and I just couldn’t figure it out. Riding double was great also. Great information and sites. The lunch was amazing, a capris salad and risotto. The wine tasting was so good we left with a bottle of great wine. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

The Vespa tour through the countryside was amazing. Not much traffic on the roads and the guides were very good at keeping it safe. Alex and Alah were fun and energetic. The winery with the Tuscan lunch was excellent, the wines were excellent also. My wife was skeptical of riding on the Vespa at first, but within minutes was loving it. Highly recommend.

Amazing !
The Tuscan countryside is spectacular. The guides Layla and alexia were fun and knowledgeable.
The small church and olive grove we stopped at was beautiful and perfect to light a candle and a quick prayer for those unable to make this perfect trip.
We had gelato at a small shop where no one spoke English and it was one of the best thing I ever ate. I had pistachio.
