Designed by Giorgio Vasari, the Uffizi Gallery was originally constructed for the city’s judiciary offices, but slowly filled with artwork owned by the rulers of the Medici family. After the Medici’s fall from power in the 18th century, the lavish structure was transformed into a museum, today comprising 1,500 pieces of art in 45 rooms.
Your tour begins in front of the Uffizi Gallery in central Florence, where you meet your guide. Head straight inside with your timed entry ticket. Your guide takes you to each of the museum’s highlights, stopping to admire Botticelli’s Birth of Venus, Michelangelo’s Doni Tondo, da Vinci’s Annunciation, and more. Afterward, head tothe upper level to see masterpieces from Caravaggio.
Then continue exploring the museum at your own pace if you wish, or check out the rooftop café to kick back with a refreshment (own expense).

Nothing. I’d like my money back. Everything was disorganized. The tour didn’t start till 330 we needed to leave and go to the next thing and so we only got to have about 30 minutes in the museum. The guide herself was great but the people organizing the tour was terrible.

Good afternoon from Caf Tour & Travel,
Dear Sue,
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.
We are glad that you enjoyed the experience and knowledge of the guide, but in the same way we are sorry to hear that the activity you booked did not live up to your expectations.
We would like to clarify that on our online page it is specified in the description of the option you chose "Uffizi English Tour at 3:30pm" and that the duration of the tour is one and a half hours, so ending by approximately 5pm.
Hoping that the above clarification meet your understanding,
Warm regards

Sylvia is very knowledgeable about the history of the art and I learned things that I never would have seen on our own.

This small group tour ended up being a private tour for our family of 5 (kids ages 16, 13, 10). Our guide was friendly and informative. Because it was just our family, we were able to engage more by asking questions.

Excellent highlights of such an expansive museum. Marta, our guide was fabulous. Allow extra time to find the meeting point.

We enjoyed our experience at the Uffizi. Simone was a wonderful guide who brought the works to relevance. As noted. In the fine print, the tour might be in two languages and she bounced back and forth from Italian to English without missing a beat. A most interesting morning for certain.

We are really glad to know that you have loved your visit to the amazing Uffizi Gallery with our professional guide Simona.
We hope to see you again in the future to show you other wonders of our Country.
Our best regards

Our tour guide was excellent and it really was a SMALL group tour. We were only four people so we could get through the crowds easily. I learned so much from our knowledgeable guide!

CAF Tours is very unorganized!! We booked the 9:00 am tour, but they sent us an email the day before in the afternoon (which we didn't see until we connected to the wifi in our hotel at night) to let us know that they had cancelled our tour! They gave us the option of taking the 4:00 pm, which we did, but completely ruined our plans for the rest of the day (we had other tours booked for that afternoon). Since we really wanted to do the Uffizi with a guide, we cancelled our other plans and went to the 4:00 pm tour. When we got there, they were extremely unorganized. A lot of people were there claiming for other cancelled tours, no lines, not enough staff. We had a terrible experience.
Once inside the museum, our guide was very good, and we ended up having a good tour, but the for the hassle of dealing with this company, it wasn't worth it. Please DO take a tour to the Uffizi Gallery, which is amazing and a must do in Florence, but DON"T take it with CAF Tours. Use any other company, which there are many other good ones. Taking a tour of the gallery is definitely better than doing it on your own, because you get much more from the guide's interpretation and background, and just watching the painting by yourself.

I am not a big museum fan. Hence I wanted a short and sweet tour, in and out with a knowledgeable guide. I got it right. No lines. No screaming kids. Perfect for a solo traveler. Fredericka was my guide. Perfect. 10/10
Suzanne_H, Jun 2019
Amazing! One of my highlights during my week stay in Florence. Antonio was the best. Made the artwork come to life!!
ccaldwell_601, Jun 2019
We went on the early morning tour of the museum. The lines weren’t super long, but being in a small group where we had a guide describe the art and history surrounding the pieces made this tour really worth it!
Response from Host, Jun 2019
Dear ccaldwell_601,
let us thank you for your kind words and for having shared your experience with us and our common readers!
We are so proud to notice that the quality of the service given has been able to meet your expectations! The guided tour that you booked is a comprehensive and fascinating visit of the world-famous Uffizi Gallery led by a professional local guide, able to captivate you and passionately introduce you to the works of art kept in the Gallery! We hope to have the possibility to welcome you again in one of our activities, to show you other wonders of our city and country!
Our Best Regards

The tour guide was excellent. She was knowledgeable and easy to understand. It made the museum so much more enjoyable to know what you were seeing and to see the progression of the arts from early paintings to more advanced paintings, etc.
shelleys_j, Oct 2018
the tour and the guide was very informative, and the art was amazing. this was the second time to visit the Uffizi, and enjoyed it as much as the first time.
Herbert L, Oct 2018
Tour itself was very good. Saw most all of the of the greatest Uffizi works but not much more. The guide did her best to skirt the crowds. Problem I had was when I showed up for my morning tour I was told it was cancelled. They said they sent me an email, which has yet to show up. They did put me on a late tour, which did not leave time to see the rest of the collection before closing.
Vickie O, Sep 2018
Cara was our tour guide and expert in Art History. There were only 4 in our group which made this tour so nice and personal. I would highly recommend Caf Tour and Travel. skip the line worked really well.
Leslie_Z, Aug 2018
LOVED our tour of the Uffizi. We had a terrific and very interesting guide. His English was excellent which was helpful. My teenage boys enjoyed it thoroughly as well! Highly recommend.
Susan R, Jun 2018
We took this tour to see the Birth of Venus painting. It was magical. The Gallery was extremely crowded but I guess that is to be expected. Loved skipping to the front of the line!
VasudhaG_K, Apr 2018
The guide was not adequately informed about the paintings. Poor knowledge is not what one is looking out for in a museum guide.
Ivan S, Nov 2017
very nice tour. tour guide was good and very informative and fluent in english.
Jose A, Nov 2017
We're more into architecture than art, so we were not sure whether to skip the gallery tour. It was amazing and well worth it. Great job!
ckoret, Oct 2017
Unbelievable beauty and history in Art! Michaelangelos, DaVincis, Bottecellis, Raphaelos, and so many more!
Our tour guide was very informative and charming. Perfect way to see the Uffizi! Would Highly recommend
this tour!
Penny_S, Oct 2017
The tour was fast and gave good information, but you barely have time to scratch the surface in the Uffizi. Also, depending on the time of year, if you get out of the tour at 6:30 or later, as we did, it is very dark, and hard to find a taxi, or find your way back to your lodging. Be prepared for that.
Mirella_Z, Oct 2017
This tour was excellent. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable at the Uffizi and we were able to get so much more from the tour with her guidance as opposed to doing the museum on our own.
Maureen_T, Sep 2017
The Uffizi Gallery is a must if you're traveling to Italy! I'm grateful we decided on this tour - our guide was an art historian and she passionately explained what we were seeing beyond the masterpiece itself. Rival artists, the symbolism, etc. Highly recommend!
John S, Sep 2017
A good way of seeing all the main treasures, our guide was very good however the group was large and it was very busy. I would still recommend the tour as trying to negotiate the gallery by yourself to see the really famous pieces would take hours.
Kerry K, Sep 2017
Depending on when you go or your level of interest in the history of Renaissance art, you might want to skip this tour. Our booked time was 4:15 and by then the ticket lines were smaller than our group. There were about four groups assembling and entering at the same time and the kerfuffle at the tour group entrance was way more chaotic and crowded than the regular entrance. We had gone shopping before and had to check a bag. Not a problem as far as the museum, but our guide was so anxious to get out of the melee that she left us behind, even though she knew we had gone around the corner to the bag check. We caught up with the group inside, but having been ditched, we felt free to ditch back, and were glad we did. We had made it around the museum catching and appreciating the highlights and caught our group on the way back slogging through Filippo Lippi etc ad nauseam. The Uffizi is wonderful, unique, but to the non-art historian and in the context of Italy as a whole, it's a lot of the same.
Gail_W, Sep 2017
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour as we enjoy art but don't have great knowledge. Luckily we arrived at 4pm when we were advised to be there at 4:15 for a 4:30 start....we were organised as soon as we arrived, through security and starting by 4:30 so make sure you arrive early.

Outstanding tour guide. Very knowledgeable and interesting..
Rajesh_B, Sep 2017
We had a small group of 5 people total with Monika who gave a splendid tour at the Uffizi Gallery. She explained several important works of art including the history behind the building of the museum itself. We learned plenty and highly recommend this one as it helps having someone knowledgeable like Monika explaining everything.
Mansi G, Sep 2017
I really liked this tour! The art in this museum is amazing! The Uffizi is huge and our tour guide did an awesome job of pointing out the key words of art and key points of history. He was very funny and brought the art to life. We took the evening tour and it ends about 20 minutes before closing which we had these 20 minutes to ourselves for free time. I used this time to walk back to see my favorite pieces a second time around and the rooms were completely empty at this time which was incredible. I stood by myself in front of La Primavera and the Birth of Venus and Michelangelo's Doni Tondo. It was surreal to soak it all in. Leonardo's room is absolutely amazing as well. Definitely would recommend this tour.
