You need to be an experienced e-bike rider. There was limited to no instruction on using the features of the bike. The bikes were older and cumbersome. There was a a lot of pedestrian congestion which made it difficult to maneuver. We also went on a number of streets that were cobblestone which made for a very bumpy ride that left us all very sore at the end of the ride. The guide’s audio died so we feel like we didn't get the full experience. View from the top was amazing but this tour should be booked with caution.

Great way to get some exercise while learning about Florence. The car traffic was a little "dodgy" at times, but Rebecca did a great job providing instructions and keeping everyone in the group together.

Pros: - Storefront where tour starts is easy to find. - Guide was very knowledgeable and told us some interesting lesser known facts about Florence. - Tour ended up being a private tour since nobody else showed up - Saw a variety of places which you would not have been able to see by walking only Cons: - Florence is not a very bike friendly city. We were sharing the roads with cars and scooters with no bike lane. There are not clear traffic laws, which was scary at times. The cobblestones are bumpy and uneven. - Was not informed of a weight limit and my husband is 6 ft 4 inches tall and 240 pounds. His seat kept falling down and this made it hard for him to pedal. The guide said it was due to my husband’s size, but I did not see a weight limit in the booking. - No helmets were provided or offered as an option. - The e-bikes are very heavy. They are difficult to maneuver and to start/stop quickly. A regular bike would have been much easier to use, which the shop did have. - The guide did not frequently check if we were close behind, so we got separated a few times. I imagine that a larger group would be separated even more easily. - the audio was very staticky and difficult to hear - No public toilet at the store front and no toilet stops along the route.

Florence Bike Tour

We are a group of 4 from the US and found our tour guide, Andrea, to be friendly but not very attentive to our needs. He also had a thick accent and sometimes wasn’t able to answer our questions because of the language barrier. After making sure our headsets worked the basic mechanics of the e-bikes, he took off like a flash without making sure our bikes fit/worked, offering us helmets or telling us where we were going. The first part of the ride was rather harrowing as we had to navigate through heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic on very heavy bikes that were hard to maneuver and sometimes seemed to have a mind of their own. All the while, Andrea was pointing out things along the route as we were passing them, over a microphone that was very staticky. When we did stop, he assumed we knew more about Italian history than we did, so much of the information he provided went over our heads. No visuals were used to help us understand what we were looking at. The best part of the tour was after ascending a long, steep hill, we arrived to a stunning panoramic view of Florence. Unfortunately, not much time was allowed for us to explore the other attractions in the area including waterfalls and several statues/historic markers. We have been on many guided bike tours around the world and this one was one of the very few that left us feeling that we would have been better wandering around the city brother on our own or as part of a guided walking tour.

Fun but challenging e-bike experience

Biking through the city was challenging as we dodged the crowds. Views outside the city were stunning however. Good sampling of key Florence sites. Great excursion for avid, mature bikers.

Bike Tour Gone Wrong

Our electric bike tour in Florence was a major letdown, even though the guide was fantastic. The group was far too large (over 15 people), and shockingly, they allowed a 12-year-old child to join. The child fell twice and repeatedly slowed the group down, turning a 2-hour tour into a frustrating 2.5-hour ordeal. The operator should enforce a minimum age of 14 and limit groups to 10 people max. The guide did their best, but poor planning ruined what could have been a great experience.

As clearly stated in the tour description, the group can include up to 20 participants. We do our best to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all, but a more intimate setting would require booking one of our private or semi-private options. Regarding children, our policy allows participation from the age of 10 and up. As also stated at the time of booking, parents or guardians are fully responsible for supervising their children throughout the activity.

Way too much talking by the guide. The overall historical stories would have been enough, but to ride a short distance and then stand in the sun while the guide was in the shade for 15 minutes on at least 3 stops was unacceptable. He also never looked back to check on the group. A family of 6 lagged behind because the kids were slower. The guide continued at 20 Kmh. The bikes were old and not great. Toward the end, he just raced back. I would not recommend this company at all.

The tour leader was very informative with interesting information about the city and certain past residents. Be prepared for some awkward traffic situations in the narrow streets. We were trapped behind a bus and were anxious about losing sight of the group at 1 point, especially as we rarely notced the leader looking back to check we were still there. If you are only accustomed to quiet country lanes this tour may be somewhat hairy and you might feel safer if you stay directly behind the leader, not at the back of the group. The early evening view overlooking Florence, the river Arno and Ponte Viechio was well worth the trip. My partner found the green bikes were very comfortable for the rough medieaval roads. However, at 5'1", I needed to have a citybike. If you dislike the idea of 2+hrs over incredibly rough surfaces on a narrow tyred less well-suspensionsed bike, be prepared to sit with the handlebars of the green bikes above your shoulder height. A worthwhile interesting trip, with added adrenalin boosters!.

The tour was very heavy on history and dates. Was more of a history lesson than a tour to acquaint ourselves with the city. We asked partially thru that he not speak so much about history and dates but that lasted 5 minutes. He spoke non stop the full 2 hours but everyone had unplugged our buds for some quiet time. The guide was very polite and kind. The bikes were great.

Enjoyed the tour, have done lots of e-bike tours before but don’t think these bikes are not suitable for going through the city. They have too much propulsion and so u are constantly on the brakes when at low speed - found them tricky when going through VERY busy pedestrian areas. Also no helmet given, and we forgot to ask. Guide was good and was great to see so much of the city.

This is a really fun way to explore Florence and learn its history! The e bikes are a lot of fun and you get to see sites and neighborhoods you probably wouldn't just walk to. We were initially a little intimidated by the traffic, but our guide knew the quieter streets to take so we were never nervous. Our guide was very knowledgable about the area's history, and pointed out a lot of interesting stories and facts. This is a great tour to cover a lot of ground and rest your walking feet.

Overall, less than average experience. Granted when we went, it was drizzling a bit, and a better weather could have resulted in slightly better experience. However, in my opinion, the tour can be improved a lot more for a better customer experience. - The tour guide and the owner could have been courteous and friendly. - when we asked questions, our tour guide would get annoyed with us. - if we fall behind due to pedestrians, our guide gave us a frustrated look. - no other instructions or plan was provided. Just showed us how to use an ebike but did not explain any rules and regulations, what to expect, traffic, what areas are we going to be covering. - gave us helmets only when we asked. - gave us very minimal information on historical places that we passed. Pros: I will admit, I loved that my husband and I got to e-bike to the other side of the Arno river, where we got a chance to walk around and take pictures. Towards the end, the tour guide smiled and said bye, even though that was the only time he smiled. Luckily, it was only my husband and I on this tour, so we got a small tour experience.

Bike Ride in the Rain

It was raining before and at the start time for our bike tour. I indicated to tour guide I did not want to be on a bike in the rain and/or wet streets. I was very surprised they did not cancel. I asked for a refund but I’ve heard nothing.

Avoid E-bike tours of Florence

E-bikes were in poor condition. No helmets provided. Wireless sound system to hear guide was very poor. Massive automobile and pedestrian traffic made riding extremely dangerous and unpleasant. Beautiful city but much better seen on foot - not on bike.

Our guide was great...when we could hear him. Since there were 14 of us, all in a single-file line, some of us in the back could only occasionally hear what he was saying. He was speaking through a wireless transmitter but if you weren't close enough to him, you lost the connection. That was too bad since he was giving us a lot of good information. We either needed to have fewer people or a stronger transmitter. But it was still a great ride. We saw some really cool sights.

Great views but more instruction needed

This was a great way to see the city in just about 2 hours. Although, our tour guide was a little impersonal. He never even shared his name or introduced the group. He also did not give a demo on how to use the electric bikes. If you do this tour, make sure you ask about how to use the bikes and general flow of traffic. Other group members (who didn’t know how to use ebike) slowed down the tour due to the guide’s lack of instruction. Kind of frustrating.

Unfortunately we were 20 mins late setting off, as we were waiting for bikes to come back in to the shop from another morning tour, and the small group city tour was actually 20 people, which was too many with one guide. Lots of stop/ starting at traffic lights, pedestrian crossing and weaving through the city streets waiting for the group to catch up. Unfortunately didn’t live up to expectations and disappointing.
