Steven our guide was great and went above & Beyond to find the Wild Mustang herds. He was able to find both but unfortunately due to it raining the night before he could not get very close so we could see them through binoculars from far away. He said trails were too wet and since he didn’t have four wheel drive he was worried about getting stuck. Too bad this kind of tour doesn’t automatically use 4 wheel drive instead of a mini van. Would have been nice to let us know up front that due to road conditions he couldn’t get to the normal places and offer us a chance to reschedule. Overall he did the best he could with limitations. Appreciated all his efforts in finding them.

Glad you enjoyed the tour. The ground out there is all bentonite . It doesn’t matter if you have 4 wheel drive or not, if you get in that mud you’re going to get stuck. Plus the BLM doesn’t like vehicles making more than a couple inches of ruts in the roads.

Our Guide was knowledgeable and fun and that's why I gave this activity 4 stars. If it wasn't for her, I would give it 2 stars. My husband and I spent $170. for the tour thinking we'd get to see the horses running and playing (and up close as you see in the ads). Unfortunately, the guides have parameters they have to stay outside of which is basically, the length of a football field meaning, you don't get up close and personal with the horses unless you have a 600 mm lens! I live in the country with horses all around us and the photos I took were photos I could have taken of my neighbor's horses without spending $170.
If you just want to be out in nature and meet other travellers while listening to some historical facts about the horses and area, then book it! As I said, the guide was great! But if you're looking to get spectacular shots of horses running and playing, don't bother. Take a drive into the area by yourself.

Sounds like the tour went absolutly well. You got to see beautiful wyoming country, lots of wildlife and the wild horses. The 100 yd. Rule is to keep the horses and people safe. Sorry the wild horses were not dancing around or coming up to you for you to pet them.

Zunächst fährt man ca. 45 Minuten durch die Prärie und wird durch den Reiseleiter Ken zugetextet mit uninteressanten Informationen. Angekommen haben wir 2 Mustangs aus ca. 2 km Entfernung mit dem Fernglas gesehen. Was für ein Witz. Ich möchte sie ja nicht streicheln, aber mit dem Fernglas sicherlich auch nicht suchen müssen. Nach 40 Minuten geht es wieder zurück nach Cody. Fazit: keine Mustangs gesehen für eine Tour wo Mustangs versprochen werden. Preis pro Person ca. 98€. Noch teurer geht Verarschung nicht.
