We love these driving tours- do them everywhere. The voice is pleasant and the information is fun and educational.

My son (16) and I enjoyed the narration and well informed content. Appreciated mention of tribal communities and displaced locals to create the National Park. Great tips on which outlooks and hikes to prioritize. Mentions of elevation, natural features, geography, trees and animals helps. Highly recommended for a memorable experience.
Response from Host, Apr 2026

Great option to get an overview of the park. Would have liked a bit more information at the pull out stops as the park information is greatly lacking.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Heather, I’m glad you found my Shenandoah National Park Self-Guided Driving Audio Tour easy to use and an excellent overview of the park! Do you recall which pull-out stops you had in mind? I’ve included extra audio in the “Learn More” section that you can listen to manually, and since my tours are valid for a year, you can always revisit or enjoy the stories at home. If you’re exploring more of Virginia, don’t miss my other tours like Fredericksburg, Yorktown Battlefield, Colonial Williamsburg, and even the New River Gorge. Happy exploring!

William_L, Oct 2024
Although we enjoyed the actual tour part of the experience, there were some technical challenges and uncertainties in the process. The historical and demographic information regarding Skyline Drive was great, however, we agreed that adding more practical information like "great look-out for sunrises or sunsets" would be helpful. There was quite a bit of time when the blue dot did not align with the map route and we wondered if we missed any of the audio information because of this. Overall we were pleased with the purchase and would recommend to others.
Response from Host, Oct 2024
William, I appreciate your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the historical and demographic information about Skyline Drive. The blue dot not aligning with the route is rare for my app, but I’m sorry if that caused any uncertainty. I’ll take note of your suggestion. My product is valid for a year, so feel free to listen to the stories again at home or on your next visit. If you have any questions or need help, please reach out!
Tina_S, Aug 2024
We fully enjoyed learning about the park and all the historical surrounding areas. Using the audio coming back the other direction. The app would just shut down.all all we got a lot of informative info when going to our stops coming from Front Royal.
Response from Host, Aug 2024
Tina, I'm glad you enjoyed exploring Shenandoah National Park with my audio tour and found it informative! Regarding the app shutting off, this can happen if the speed limit specified in the app isn't followed. Since the tour is valid for a year, please give it another try and experience it fully. A great way to do National Parks with a narrative of the locations and the app pauses when you stop for photos. Learned lots of history and highlights of The Shenandoah National Park. Would highly recommend using the APP. It was so easy and informative.

Doug_S, May 2024
There was no experience as it didn’t work. We tried several times and got nowhere. Also disappointed that Viator did not refund money. Buyer beware!!
Response from Host, May 2024
That isn't very pleasant to hear, Doug! We know it's frustrating when the app doesn't work. We ask everyone to download the app and tour beforehand to avoid any issues with Connectivity. No worries, though; this tour is suitable for a year! If you're still in the Shenandoah area, give it another try. Download the app and tour we provide, and start from the beginning following the route in the app. If it acts up again, contact our support team directly (not Viator); they'll be happy to help you set it up. Otherwise, we'll be glad to give you a full refund ourselves.
Maxine_R, May 2024
The audio was very informative regarding some of the history and overlook views of the Shenandoah Valley. Unfortunately it was very foggy initially and we missed some of the views until the fog lifted.

Robert_S, Oct 2023
I didn’t understand how to use the app. Called for help to download app. When I finally logged in correctly at the entrance. There was NO signal to begin downloading. Finally downloaded in about 30 miles in the park,Lots of wasted time for me.Next time tell new users to download app at home, etc .Then activate it in the park.
In general I would rather use the Parks map or a book .
Response from Host, Oct 2023
Robert, I'm really feeling for you—it sounds like the start of your Shenandoah adventure was a bit of a rocky road, and that’s the last thing we want for any explorer. You're absolutely spot on; we do recommend getting the app and tour downloaded before heading out to avoid any signal issues. Enjoyable, but would have liked more info about the flora (specific trees, shrubs and wild flowers) and fauna of the park.

TracyAnn_B, Apr 2023
This was so fun to listen to while driving the route and looking at the beautiful scenery. My kids and I listened intently as we have become true lovers of history. My kids are 11 and 14. We only had time to do about 1/4 of the whole thing but we will definitely come back to do more. This recorded tour for driving was great and I’m looking forward to completing it sometime soon. Definitely worth the price and be sure to download it before entering the park. As should be expected, the WiFi is spotty and inconsistent there. Also FYI, go in the park with a full tank of gas.
Response from Host, Apr 2023
Oh wow!! This made my day! I love when I get to share my love of great stories with other history buffs. The tour is yours forever, so you guys can finish the rest of it anytime you’re back — there’s no time limit.
