Holly's expertise was immediately apparent. She brought Van Gogh's life and work to vivid life, and we learned so much not just about the artist himself, but also about his contemporaries and the artistic movements that shaped his work.
We did have a bit of trouble finding Holly when we first arrived at the museum, but she was incredibly accommodating when we connected, and the Viator team helped us get sorted out quickly..
From there, Holly guided us through the museum with real passion and knowledge. Her insights gave us a much deeper appreciation for the paintings we were seeing—the technique, the history, the personal struggles behind the brushstrokes.

We chose this tour as it was a small group, and our guide was very knowledgeable about the history of van Gogh. Our guide was amazing and imparted many stories of van Goghs journey. The museum is a treasure trove of his original works.

The museum was good, very good. Also, very good was our guide, Kiran. He spoke well, he’s very knowledgeable, and his recitals about van Gogh were deeply interesting. i’ve gone on many guided tours, and he is one of the best, far better than most.

The printing or down loading of the tickets and the location to meet before the tour was confusing. We were not the only people who got lost in person and on the web site. Our tour guide helped all of us get things fixed in a short time and off we went on a great tour. The sound system was top drawer. We could hear our tour guide speaking in her normal volume. We saw Van Gogh's beautiful paintings and we were given a great deal of history about the painter and his paintings. We had a great time. We would recommend this tour.

Our guide, Kieran, was very good and considerate. I had a bad knee and he adjusted the pace for me and he pointed out the elevators when we had to go up or down the stairs. The museum was very well done but it was quite crowded.

We had a wonderful tour yesterday led by Giovanni. He really made the difference with his knowledge, insight, interesting spin on van Gogh‘s life, use of the letters between Theo and Vincent, and patient manner. He shared information I had not known and answered all our questions. Having a tour guide like Giovanni really made the difference between an average tour and a great tour. I highly recommend Giovanni.

Tour Guide Never Showed Up! I contacted Viator customer service immediately. They were absolutely no Help! The rep said she called the tour guide and it went to voice mail. Viator Customer Service absolutely did nothing! And Still Charged me! Even with proof that I waited 30 minutes for the tour guide to show. I have video and pictures. Absolutely outrageous

Of course this activity is very guide-dependent, but I learned a LOT about VanGogh's life and paintings on this tour by Martina. Heard some new theories about things like why he cut off his ear, etc. Highly recommend!

Good experience overall. The group was about 14 people as expected, so it felt more structured than personal.
The guide was very knowledgeable about Van Gogh’s life and shared a lot of interesting history. The storytelling was strong, but the format was more lecture-style—we’d hear the background in one area and then be sent to view the paintings on our own.
Helpful for context and a solid way to learn about Van Gogh, just less interactive than some other tours we’ve done.
