It’s a huge museum & having a private guide was hugely helpful navigating around & getting more information on the artwork. We are not artsy people generally & still got a lot out of it.

This museum is absolutely massive. Having a guide to walk us through the highlights and provide valuable historical context was enjoyable compared to an audio guide. The tour guide was very knowledgeable to answer questions, passionate about the museum, and well engaged. My husband, 12-year-old daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed it. A great perk - tickets included and skipped the line entering via the group entrance. Book now and enjoy!

We had Mike as our guide at the Rijksmuseum and he was brilliant. He was clearly Mr. Popular at the museum. Super friendly from the start, and had a real knack for getting everyone in the group involved. He made the whole experience feel easy and fun, even for people who wouldn't normally call themselves art lovers. His knowledge was impressive. Hands down one of the best tours we've done.

Another problem with the website and finding the place to meet. We did finally meet our tour guide Benedetta and she was worth the wait. This was a small group tour, which turned out to be My wife and I plus a young couple. I was in a borrowed wheel chair and Benedetta was able to move all four us right in front of the paintings and statues. She shared with us a wealth of information about the paintings and the painters. We were only her second tour and she was great. She moved us from one location to another, like a beautiful dance. Viator has found a beautiful gem in Benedetta, I hope they can keep her. We do recommend this tour.

I would book this over and over again. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable, and thought us so much about the artwork and so much of the history of the building. I now have a better appreciation for Rembrandt and the other masters. It was the perfect size tour! Small and intimate!

You only have 90 minutes on the tour and cover a large part of the second floor. It is still entirely worth it. We explored much of the rest on our own.

A good introduction to the museum, with an in-depth look at a few major pieces; from Rembrandt, Vermeer. Our guide is an art historian so her knowledge gave us insight unavailable through the signage. We need a week to see more!

We learned fascinating history and background of the building itself and of a group of the most famous paintings by the Dutch masters in the museum’s collection. Our guide was very knowledgable. He was very considerate of each person’s needs in regard to seeing the art and hearing him. I think the tour would be improved with the use of “whispers”, where the guide can speak softly into a microphone and each person hears him through their own device through a headset. There were several tours going at the same time and my partner had trouble hearing the guide, despite our guide’s efforts, due to all the background voices and our guide’s need not to disturb other groups. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience and recommend it highly.

We signed up for Rijksmuseum semi-private guided tour. The tour operator messaged us a few days ahead sharing the exact meeting location and time, and then 30 minutes or so before the tour, our guide, Sabrina WhatsApp us just in case we need to contact her directly. I appreciate such communication a lot. There were so many people & groups waiting around in the area, having Sabrina’s contact info helped put us at ease. It turned out there were only 5 people in the group. It was great! Sabrina was knowledgeable, her English was excellent. Moreover, she was friendly, personable, and enthusiastic, instead of bringing us to appreciate the “standard selections,” she took a step further to get to know us and to introduce works that we would be interested in. I am so glad we had her as a guide. She added more time to the tour because the group used precious time to wait in line for the restroom (which was necessary). She is an exceptional guide. We highly recommend this tour operator and Sabrina! Thank you!

This small group tour of the museum was excellent! It hit the highlights and focused on specific displays versus a cursory overview. Learned things that I would would not have even considered while walking through the museum. If you’re not an art expert, this is the way to do it.

It is a huge museum so should plan your visit ahead. Our tour guide, Sabrina, showed us the highlights and was excellent but she did not have an audio transmitter so we couldn’t hear her well.
That was very unfortunate.

Excellent experience. The small group size (only 6 people) made a huge difference and kept everything personal and easy to follow.
Max was a fantastic guide. He was very knowledgeable and great at explaining the art in a way that actually made it meaningful. He didn’t just point things out, he helped us understand what to look for and why it mattered.
We would have missed so much and honestly wouldn’t have appreciated the museum the same way without this tour. One thing that really stood out...he made sure we could get up close to the artwork, even navigating through crowds so we had a clear view.
Highly recommend. This completely changed how we experienced the Rijksmuseum.
