Pickup Information If you are arriving in Akureyri by cruise ship, please ensure you have provided us with the name of your vessel, as there are multiple ports in Akureyri. Tangabryggja Port: Just outside the cruise ship area, you will see several small wooden houses. Star Travel is located at house number 3, and we will meet you there. Oddeyrarbryggja Port: Right outside the ship, you will find an Icewear shop. Next to it is the designated agent area where all tour agents wait for their customers. We will be there with a Star Travel sign. Look for one of our colleagues wearing a bright yellow jacket. If you are staying in Akureyri, please ensure you have selected the correct accommodation for pickup. Lastly, please make sure the phone number you provided is reachable in case we need to contact you with any updates or changes.

Hogni was an amazing guide! We learned a lot about each place we visited, and this tour had it all! We saw all of the major sites of this area and Hogni even took our group of three to see a few "extra" sites since we were not going to go in the Nature Baths. The vehicle was very comfortable and felt very safe. Our small group tour had only 5 people and we had a lot of flexibility. Hogni is very knowledgeable about Iceland. I would recommend this tour to anyone - it was amazing!

This tour gave us a great overview of several sites in the Akureyri area. And since we were visiting in January, provided a very different experience compared to summertime. Our guide provided plentiful information about local customs and legends that enhanced the tour.8

What a fantastic tour!

We started in downtown Akureyri, with other tourists and our guide collected us at the Hof Cultural Center. Her name was Johanna. There were 8 of us on this 8 hour tour which proved to be fantastic! She was articulate regarding the land, culture, food people etc. It was fun and engaging. She was not just a guide but a generous host. We would highly recommend taking this tour. It was a great way to expose ourselves to this region of Iceland!

Not a good experience

Not worth the money. The bus was overcrowded and the driver’s microphone didn’t work. We were in the back of the bus and never heard any commentary. Driver apologized but we had spent $500 and didn’t enjoy the trip.

North Iceland is without a doubt a beautiful area to explore. Our tour guide Reynir was amazing, he gave us plenty of time in every location so we could enjoy the breathtaking views from lake Myvatn. The thermal bath experience was incredibly relaxing and way better than the Blue Lagoon.

Absolutely worth it

This best part of the trip is it is a small group and very flexible. We have 4 people so can pretty much get all the attentions from the guide and there is plenty of time taking photos of the magnificent waterfalls. 2 hours bathing is included (pretty much 1 hour in the pool and 1 hour for showering and queuing, etc.) which is not clearly written on the website, but we enjoyed it.
