The waterfall was spectacular. Our driver was funny and very personable. It was cold, windy and some rain. Wear warm clothing and good shoes. You will be walking over rocks and dirt.

Great excursion. We just wanted to see the waterfall and this excursion was just that. We learned a lot about the country from our excellent guide as we traveled to and from the waterfall. For us, the time at the waterfall was perfect.

We made this excursion when had our stop with our cruise in Akureri and it was a perfect excursion. We first planned to only make a trip to the waterfall, but then decided to upgrade to the longer tour which was definitely a good idea as there is much more to see, and our tour guide made a great effort to show us hidden gems like the hidden underground thermal cave and - as there was still some time - did a loop with the bus through the quartiers of Akureri. We highly appreciated this extra effort by our tour guide. Many thanks.

We had a fantastic guide Sigurlaug who was most informative and as “old timers” found whole trip was very leisurely. Scenery was out of this world.

the tour operator, Imagine Iceland, canceled our tour after we had paid for it. They said, we were the only 2 for the tour and they could not run the tour for 2 people, which I understand. The lady at the desk took us to another tour group, Nortour Iceland, operating the Godafoss tour and they put us on that bus. Then when it was time for the driver to come to pick us up, he didn't come back for over an hour and a half. Another driver for the same company came and assured us he would come back to get us, and he finally did. It caused us tremendous stress. My advice to anyone traveling to Norway and Iceland, don't book a tour through Viator or anyone online. Wait until you get face to face with the actual group running the tour. Third party booking does not work for Norway and Iceland.

We really enyoyed our trip with our driver Johannes to the Goðafoss waterfall. We had luck regarding the weather and the sun has been shining. Pickup for the tour was easy and comfortable. There are huts at Akureyri Cruise Port and for meeting you just have to lookup the one with "Imagine Island Travel".
On our way back, we did a short photo stop to take panorama photos from above Akureyri. Nice finish.

It is a must-do excursion if you come to Akureyri. It is next door and the waterfall in the lava soil environment is spectacular.
