Meet up point is 45 minutes from port of Husvik. When looking for tours in Husvik this tour came up; a bit misleading.

The name of the tour is: “From Akureyri Port: Godafoss Waterfall Tour for Cruise Ships”.
Misleading ?

Wonderful day trip with great guide and driver. Very well planned and must do with beautiful sights.
Patricia_K, Aug 2025
Expensive guide did not give any background on puffins habitat etc pointed to a he steps and that was it
Linda_U, Aug 2025
The ride to the waterfall was made very interesting by our tour guide who was very knowledgeable of the area and very easy to understand and ask questions of.
David_W, Aug 2025
Beautiful drive to the falls. The tour guide was very informative and explained the history of Iceland and the culture.
Jay_W, Aug 2025
It was a wonderful time. Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. There was a lot of walking up to the falls

Overall, this tour delivered what it promised — we got to see the falls, the guides were kind, and the experience itself was fine in the end. However, the organization and communication at the start really missed the mark.
We arrived an hour early at the booth, hoping to make sure our group of six (including four 80-year-olds with mobility concerns) could sit together. Unfortunately, the staff at the booth didn’t speak English well and simply told us to wait on the side. Boarding began behind us, and when we were finally waved onto the bus at the very last minute, we were placed on an extremely old substitute van because the original bus had broken down. This forced us to split our party, and volunteers had to shuffle around to make it work — not an ideal start for elderly travelers.
The guide on the substitute bus did his best and was very sweet, but the main, more knowledgeable guide was on the other bus. I only got to experience him on the return trip, where he was excellent. The biggest frustration was timing: the buses didn’t actually keep us together as advertised. My bus was returning at 12:30 while my parents’ bus returned at 1:00, due to the mix-up of people being placed on the wrong buses earlier. While the timing didn’t ultimately cut our day short, it could have easily been avoided if boarding had been handled more smoothly.
Tip for future travelers: If you’re booking with this company at this port, keep in mind that as soon as you come off the ship, there are about 10 booths lined up and they are one of them. Look up the company’s emblem ahead of time so you know exactly what to look for. The directions didn’t mention a booth, and since this was an excursion booked outside the ship, this detail might help others find it quickly.
In the end, we still enjoyed the falls, and the shorter tour length was a good choice compared to longer cruise excursions. But the ground management and communication definitely left room for improvement. With better organization at check-in, this could have been a five-star experience.

The guide was great and scenery and waterfall magic. The trip was just long enough we had one hour at the waterfall. It’s a mini bus so a little tight

We had a wonderful experience with this excursion! Our guide was very knowledgeable and told some fascinating stories about the history of Iceland as we drove. We were able to bring our little one (with a car seat) with us which was a big benefit because not all excursions allowed children. Because it was a smaller tour group, it was more tailored to our preferences as a group. Our guide was also flexible in dropping people off at various locations (along the way) after the excursion which helped us see even more in our short time there! Would highly recommend!
The only suggestion we have would be to make the meeting place a little more obvious, it took us longer than expected to find where we needed to be.

We really enjoyed the tour. We didn’t feel rushed, and everything felt well organized.
Take the early tour before the area becomes crowded

Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. The waterfalls were beautiful. Definitely worth the trip!
Rayka_M, Jul 2025
Our guide was absolutely amazing. He gave us a lot of background and fun facts type of information. He was also funny and knowledgeable. The waterfall was absolutely amazing too but all the other info and facts that our guide shared with us made the whole experience much better

Essentially what you pay for is a bus ride to the waterfall (no admission fee) and the commentary of the tour guide. We had a great tour guide who also included some of his personal stories about Iceland which made the experience more genuine. Our bus was a bit outdated but overall a good experience albeit at a pretty high price which I guess cannot be avoided in Iceland.

Great trip the falls . Guides gave us great history of island on trip out and back. Only issue was bus had no air
William_P, Jul 2025
On our particular trip there were only a few people on a minibus and the experience was very enjoyable. We had enough time to view the waterfall from both sides giving us alternative views.
Ralph_P, Jul 2025
Our guide was excellent and the falls were beautiful. We would use this company again for a tour. We loved it.

bring a camera, it was awesome, very well organized, awesome waterfall, there was a rainbow over the waterfall, made for an awesome picture
Carson_L, Jun 2025
Andres was a great tour guide with very interesting facts about Iceland and it's history. It kept us interested the entire trip. The waterfall is very beautiful.
There may be a small savings to get your tickets at the port, but the tour time will not be guaranteed.
Kathryn_S, Jun 2025
I would highly recommend it. The walk from the bus to the Falls is not strenuous and nearly anyone could make it. It is a spectacular sight.

Viator reps were easy to recognize and assist getting on buses. Interesting information provided throughout tour.

If you’re in a cruise ship without a car. Take this tour. If you have your own car. You can drive to the falls yourself and do not need this tour!!! It was a typical bus tour. The guide was informative n tried to be funny. The crowd was unfriendly and out for themselves. You felt like you were on someone else’s time schedule. Not your own. We had our own car so there was no need to get in a bus w others to go there. My mistake booking it.

It’s a tour for cruise ships passengers:
From Akureyri Port: Godafoss Waterfall Tour for Cruise Ships

The waterfall was gorgeous. A must see. The bus was comfortable. The guide was very nice and knowledgeable. His green hat made him easy to spot. My only complaint is that there were so many tour busses that day, the waterfall was super crowded. Otherwise great tour.
