Dennis was very knowledgable and funny! Well worth the money! Bonaventure Cemetery was full of beautiful sculptures and history. The stop for lunch was amazingly delicious at Erica Davis' Low Country Restaurant! The tour of Wormsloe was gorgeous with all the live oak trees, Spanish Moss, and palmettos. Our group learned a ton today!

Great Tour Guide

michelleulick, May 2026
This tour was a highlight of the trip. The guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, entertaining, and did a great job bringing history to life. He also had a key to the locked gate at Wormsloe, which allowed us entry to the oak-lined tunnel of trees and enabled is to capture beautiful pictures. The last stop on the tour was a cookie store, which was a great way to cap off the experience.

Wonderful tour

Albert is knowledgeable, friendly and patient. We enjoyed our visit and the places we went were interesting.

Highly Recommend Tour Guide Albert!!

Xinyi_Z, May 2026
Our tour guide Albert is absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable about Savannah’s history and I enjoyed the entire tour! This is also a very efficient tour with two sites visited in one day. But it doesn’t feel any site was not given enough time. Would recommend everyone to book tour with him. Thank you, Albert!

Great day tour! It was nice to see both locations & hear a lot of history about the area. Pick up at our hotel was a plus.

Great history outside of Savannah proper

Keri_M, May 2026
Long day (7 hours hotel to hotel) but we'll worth it. Very informative and historical. Thoroughly enjoyed our guide, Dennis.

Beautiful Must-See Locations but Tour on Your Own

Tracey_M, May 2026
Found this far too long. Sadly the reviews about Tim are valid. I always like to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and form my own opinions, but in this case the general consensus was correct. You can tell he’s very passionate about the history, especially when it comes to one particular family, but it was just way too much talking and no opportunity to self-explore. It was also incredibly hot the day I was on the tour and he didn’t seem to acknowledge that, constantly stopping every few minutes to talk more, leaving many of us scrambling to find shade. The sites are absolutely beautiful and it sounds like other guides may create a different experience but I would recommend anyone else self guide to explore what they want to on their own.

Just finished a tour with Dennis and it was excellent! He is so kind, memorized everyone's name and is extremely knowledgeable about the history at all the sites. He is funny and made the tour so enjoyable. Thank you, Dennis..."no,no, Thank you!" 😊

Guide talked too much!

Lisa_d, May 2026
Tour was lovely - both sites were beautiful. Driver Tim spent way too much time talking about himself and his wife - not information I needed or wanted to hear. Sometimes it's OK to just be quiet and let guests either look out the window or talk with each other

Response from Host, May 2026

We appreciate your feedback.

Thomas_T, Apr 2026
Cemetery’s history was informative and significant to Savannah founding. Time of year did not show the beauty of the flowers. Tim was a little to heavy on personal history instead of Savannah history.

Rigid and disappointing

Elan_F, Apr 2026
We left the tour feeling disappointed with the experience. The guide’s delivery was scripted and lacked flexibility, as he often declined to answer questions that didn't fit his specific timeline. He also followed a rigid schedule that didn't account for individual preferences; for example, we asked to walk the Oak Tree Boulevard when we arrived there, but he told us to get back in the van to move on to a museum at the end of the boulevard that we found unengaging. The content was also a bit of a concern. A significant amount of time was spent on local trivia, such as the opening of nearby shopping centers, rather than connecting Savannah’s development to broader American history. As history buffs, we were looking for a more thorough overview of Georgia’s past, including the history of slavery and the Jim Crow era. While we know specialized tours exist for those topics, omitting them here felt like a missed opportunity for a general history tour.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

We hate to hear this tour wasn't for you. This isn't a typical review, so we appreciate your feedback.

Make this a priority!

Katelyn_D, Apr 2026
I’m probably a tour guide’s worst nightmare because I can be a bit feral, wanting to see what I want to see. But this tour was a highlight of my trip and Albert was so gracious, patient, and thoughtful, really making sure everyone had the experience they hoped for. He really knows his history and was so informative. Bonaventure was beautiful, certainly, but also Wormsloe. Incredibly special place! And the swing through the Isle of Hope was an added gem! Even if you have limited time in Savannah, if you love nature, I would make this a priority!

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Albert is awesome! We are happy to hear you had a great time. Thank you for choosing Gray Line.

Ashley gives a great tour

Ashley was a great tour guide. Not only a wealth of knowledge, but she genuinely cared that we all were safe, not getting bitten up by bugs, and of course, enjoying ourselves. The lunch at Erica Davis Lowcountry was amazing too.

Dennis is one of a kind!

Debbie_P, Mar 2026
Excellent service. We were picked up right at our hotel at exactly 9:00 by Dennis. Dennis was the most amazing, friendly and knowledgeable tour guide I swear I have ever had on a tour. Not a single note in hand and his memory of dates, names and history was actually truly astounding. I actually asked him if he used to be a history teacher. His sense of humor and southern charm were very genuine. Loved him!!!
