Your day starts with early morning hotel pickup in Phoenix (if option selected), and transfer to Deer Valley Airport, or make your own way there. Once the licensed pilot and experienced crew get your hot air balloon ready for flight, climb inside the basket for the approximate 45-60 minute ride.
You’ll feel almost motionless as your balloon gently leaves the ground. Float with the wind on an airy ride at elevations as high as 5,000 feet (1,524 meters). During your journey, peer out over the Phoenix Valley and enjoy a panoramic vista above the impressive saguaros of the Sonoran Desert.
Exhilaration comes with the sunrise. Upon landing, take part in a ballooning tradition by toasting your aerial tour with chilled Champagne. Then tuck into your breakfast.
You’ll receive a commemorative flight certificate and, if you opted for hotel transport, be dropped off in Phoenix to complete your tour.

This was a definite highlight of our trip to Phoenix. The flight was smooth, and enjoyable with a very knowledgable pilot. The sunrise view was breathtaking! The breakfast was as nice as is pictured in all the promos. And the danish was delicious! We highly recommend this experience and it is definitely worth every penny spent!

Very unorganized. We flew with Don who was great! But everything else was not worth the nearly $300 we spent. The check-in process was disorganized and then we learned the original launch site was cancelled due to high winds so we had to go somewhere else that was an hour away from the meet-up point. The van was okay but for a nearly 2-hour ride round trip it was rough. To make matters worse, they notify me that my hotel is outside of their “pick-up” radius and would require an extra fee on top of the money. I already paid for a hotel pick up. Ridiculous. I rented a car to drive to the meet up spot. So we’re talking about an additional 30 minute drive on top of the two hour round-trip to some desolate area just to fly over people’s homes and buildings. No desert landscape, no sightseeing when we were up in the air. Everything was fine but the minute we landed, we learned that the truck or van with all the champagne and breakfast items was stuck so then we had to wait for another truck to pull it out of whatever ditch it was in because obviously this terrain was unfamiliar to the staff. The breakfast was subpar and so was the champagne, but we got our certificates, had a laugh and was ready to leave after literally being left there for about an hour. When it was finally time to pack up and leave, we traveled MadMax style through this dusty area and had to hold on for dear life just to get back to a main road. It was clear that the staff was not prepared for this Plan B situation. Again the flight was OK, but for my first hot air balloon ride I wish I had gone with a different experience. Would not recommend and would not go again with this company.

Great experience. Took a little longer than expected. Few mishaps along the way so we were delayed and the experience lasted 4-5 hours instead of 2-3 hours. Overall the staff were friendly and this is definitely something you would want to do.

We had an amazing time! Ethan was great with driving us from the hotel pickup to the launch site, making the whole process seamless. Tommy was a fantastic pilot—knowledgeable and friendly, he made the ride smooth and enjoyable. Highly recommend this team for a memorable Phoenix balloon experience!

The experience was amazing, punctual, they explained the rules well and what to expect. Jonathan was our operator and he was charismatic, and knowledgeable. The landing was a little rocky, but it was to be expected as a possibility. Breakfast was good fruit, breakfast burrito and champagne, oj and if you wanted to cut loose make yourself a mimosa. Overall 10/10 experience definitely will book again.

This experience flowed with ease, my husband has a fear of heights but was comfortable the entire time. Very surreal to be able to see so much of Arizona at once. My only gripe is how sensitive I was to the heat of the flame whenever it would blow to raise the balloon in my specific spot I was standing in (outmost corner) that I wouldn’t recommend. The breakfast was a nice touch and definitely recommend the ride from the hotel. Super convenient and friendly staff. They also took great pictures for us on our personal phones and offered a $40 package per person to get drone shots!

Everything was great with this experience! Hotel pick up and shuttled to balloon launch. Balloon ride was so much smoother than expected. Our Captain Mike was great, very friendly, answered all questions, one lady (I didn't know, part of another group but in our basket) was terrified, she was so scared and Mike talked her through everything answered all her 10,000 questions and kept her very calm. Once we were up and she was very calm and enjoyed the flight and sights. She was very nice but extremely scared and Mike handled her like a pro. Says a lot about the kind of guy he was as someone else may have dismissed her fears and made it a miserable experience for all of us on that flight.
I would totally do this again anytime I am in the area. Keep in mind weather changes cause cancellations... book at the beginning of your trip so if cancelled you have a better chance of getting to do this on another day!

10/10 experience even for a solo traveler! Mike was a great pilot and Bruce was a great driver! All of the team members were organized, polite, and showed great hospitality. The breakfast and champagne were also good.

This was an amazing experience. From booking to the end, Hot Air Expeditions was very informative and responsive. Our original flight was canceled because of wind, but we were easily able to reschedule for the next day. We felt very safe and informed on the ride. The ride in the air was extremely peaceful. The breakfast after landing was great (veggie breakfast burrito, apple turnover, and apple slices with mimosas). Our pilot, Matt, was knowledgeable and funny. Jen, our van driver, was great about getting pictures of our group and took video of our takeoff. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

I booked this same excursion with a friend 4 years ago and I’m happy to say that 4 years later the experience remains top notch! Our pilot John and driver/balloon chaser Jim were great. We booked with hotel transport which was seamless and informative as our driver gave us lots of information during our ride to the meeting point. The entire flight crew was welcoming and friendly, gave clear safety instructions and didn’t hesitate to make the birthday we were celebrating extra special. 1000/10, I’m certain I’ll be back a 3rd time.

This was an AMAZING experience from start to finish. The transportation, meal, and balloon vehicle were as advertised.
