It is a full day but fantastic. Franchesco our guide was amazing!! Stunning views, walking trails around lake & good food. Went with 2 friends & another couple, so 6 total in a nice Mercedes van. Absolutely worth every penny!!

Great itinerary. Expect afternoon rainshowers so our last stop was shortened. The driver, Christiana, was excellent. We had 8 people in our party, so a bigger van would have been better. Give your drivers a mic and the passengers their own speakers so everyone can hear the driver. Overall it was a great tour. Fantastic views and scenery.

Itinerary

Venice is hard to say goodbye to–even for the day–but the Dolomites may help you forget about it for a few hours. After meeting your driver–guide, hop in your comfortable minivan and head north through the rustic Northern Italian landscape.

The first stop is the ski resort town of Cortina d'Ampezzo. Take some free time here to go shopping in the chic boutiques, enjoy a coffee and dessert at a cafe or just explore the town before heading to your next stop.

Arrive at Lake Misurina, or the "Pearl of the Dolomites," as it is sometimes called. The lake is especially picturesque with the Tre Cime di Lavaredo in the background, three distinctive peaks that tower in the distance, and one of the most well-known mountain groups in the Alps. Drive toward the peaks and stop to get an amazing view.

Later, sit down at a local trattoria for a traditional Dolomite lunch (at own expense) and then take some free time to go on a stroll around the lake. Or, if you'd rather rest your legs, continue relaxing at the restaurant.

Meet up with your driver-guide at the set time and begin your journey back, arriving in Venice in the early evening.

Please note, the itinerary is adapted during the winter months due to lake closures and visits Cortina, Braies Lake, and San Candido.

Definitely worth it. We only had a short time in Venice so this was the perfect opportunity to see the Dolomites. Our tour guide Francesco was great - knowledgeable, friendly, and helped share the history. The Dolomites are beautiful and this is a great way to see them.

Great 1 day trip to the Dolomites

I'll start off by saying that this is a great trip if you want to see the Dolomites in 1 day. You get to see some of the lakes as well which are very beautiful. The guide was very nice and did a great job driving. The AC in the van was good but didn't quite cool the van down enough despite being on max. The trip itself feels rushed as there is a lot of driving involved getting to the different spots. The tour group was great and can't fault them for anything. Only problem is just the logistics and the amount of driving.

Had the best time traveling from Venice to the Dolomites with our small group and Marco. The weather was a bit rainy and cloudy, however, Marco did his absolute best to make sure we had the best experience and even stopped on our route multiple times to catch a glimpse and photos of the mountain ranges when they would peak out from the clouds. Such a great switch up from Venice, would highly recommend!

This trip was an amazing day. After many days of walking around cities and touring churches it was great to get out of the city and into the mountains. Our driver Cristiano was friendly, funny, and very attentive. He made a lot of great stops and told us the history of the Dolomites from the culture of the people, the Alpine architecture, the industry (glasses manufacturers, hydro electric dam). He took extra care to make sure everyone had great photos and took probably 10-20 pictures of everyone that asked. We had a lovely lunch with some of the other tour members at a mountain lake as well as a stroll. The tour is not strenuous and I probably walked the least this day than any other. The ride out of the city and back in was perfect for a snooze. Thanks for a great day!!!

This was a great way to explore areas we would have missed on our trip! Make sure to have layers to be able to adjust throughout the day as the temperatures did fluctuate. We stayed at the hotel right by where the meeting point was so if you are staying at the new Hampton this is a great choice for tour! Everything was smooth and the guide made sure we knew meeting times back allowing us to explore the different stops and enjoy the cities. Great full day excursion that I recommend!

It was a quick getaway to the mountains from Venice. In an hour we were into the pretty pre alps and then another hour into the Dolomites proper which are stunning and even more beautiful than the Alps in my opinion. We enjoyed the views. Our driver knew the area well, made impromptu stops for pictures and some for a brief background history before he would drive to our stop. We spent time in Cortina and then at Motrin’s lake at the foot of the Tre Cema de Lavaredo park for lunch. There was ample time to walk around the lake after lunch. The views across the lake in every direction were amazing. Then we stopped in Auronzo to look at another beautiful lake. And then for our final stop we stopped in Longarone for some yummy ice cream.
