What are people saying about Tokyo

Such a fun experience!...
Such a fun experience!
The workshop was easy to follow and really enjoyable, even if you’ve never done anything like this before. The booking includes several wood types to choose from for your chopsticks, which was great, and there are additional premium wood options and customizations available for an extra charge if you want to make them even more special.
It was a fun, hands-on experience and a great way to create something personalized and practical to remember our trip. Much more meaningful than buying a standard souvenir. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a memorable activity in Tokyo!

Fun and educational!
I booked this experience hoping to just play pretend samurai, but I left there with more than I expected! Hyoga took the time to explain some of the history of samurai in Japan and the meaning behind the language, movements, and techniques used. It was very interesting to see some of the similarities between what we learned and the anime I’ve watched over the years. It was educational, but we had a great time doing the fun stuff too! We got to use a katana, shuriken, and more! I recommend for the entire family.

This was such a highlight...
This was such a highlight of our trip with our two kids (10 and 12). It was a pleasure to meet everyone at the dojo. Such an educational and unique experience. Our interpreter was so knowledgeable and was part of a long line of samurais. We loved this!

A fun and unique experience with the sweetest teacher
This was really fun. I was the only participant, so the intimacy made it even better. The location is easy to get to by metro and is located inside a hostel. My teacher was the sweetest woman who spoke great English and was very patient with me, even though I'm apparently terrible at calligraphy. (She's also a food artist, showing me the beautiful flower sushi rolls she made.) Over the course of the one-hour class, she taught me about the history of calligraphy, the tools used, the various brush strokes, and let me practice a ton. At the end, I created my final "masterpiece" to take home and she thoughtfully put it in a protective sleeve to endure the journey. I definitely recommend this class if you're looking for a unique experience in Tokyo!

One of the best tours I’ve ever been on
This was an AMAZING TOUR the tour guide was nice, he started by learning all our names, he paid for a retro game for us, he ALSO paid for ice cream for us the places he took us were amazing, and there was never a time where we were bored. Amazing. Just. Amazing

Fun DIY experience!
The experience was very fun! It had a good edutainment aspect of value that I enjoyed. The ceramic was pre-broken for us to choose, I wish there were more style varieties to choose from. The instructions were very clear and the video was also easy to follow. I think it would be good to extent the estimated experience time to 1.25 hrs as it seems like people took extra time to create their kintsugi plates and ask questions. I think the value of the experience was quite worth it and they also sell a kit you can take home to try out.

Fun family class!
Wow! What a fun experience as a family of four. We were able to pick two pieces of long rectangular wood of our choice and make chopsticks using a tools and sanding. The instructions were clear and my 10 & 12 year old
could do it on their own. Everyone could sand the chopsticks down to whatever shape they wanted to make it more personal. We all got them engraved for 1000 yen extra. We had a great time making our own personal souvenir. Would highly recommend!!!

Highly recommended!
I booked a private lesson for my 17 year old son and me. I'm a complete beginner but my son is at an intermediate level. Nao-san tailored the class very well for both of us. She encouraged and guided him to try out his own ideas (I followed templates). He was impressed with her skills and how she demonstrated techniques effortlessly on the whiteboard eg showing how with only a few changes you can change a mood or character completely. I really enjoyed trying the g pen and special manga tools.
Thank you very much Nao-san!

Such a fun activity! Wonderful host who gave a little history and walked us thru an easy enjoyable learning experience!
Really enjoyed the hour and half here! The host was a kind well articulated gentleman who gave an easily digestible history of the kintsugi art form before letting us try out a version of it made to finish something in less than an hour (versus months in the real kintsugi art form). The hosts helped in the more difficult aspect (cleaning, sanding, packing) and allowed us to do the easy gluing parts and fun/creative painting parts! Highly recommend for an enjoyable quiet short activity!

Fun with our granddaughter in Japan
This is a wonderful way to gain an insight into a delightful aspect of Japanese culture. The focus on fine details, food in all its aspects - appearance as well as taste, and the beauty of simple things has had great appeal to us. Hana was an excellent teacher and so very kind and accommodating. We all enjoyed making our nerekiri.

This was a wonderful...
This was a wonderful experience for our family with 3 teens. The couple were delightful and great teachers. We learned a lot about different kinds of ramen and the ingredients that go into making a flavorful bowl. We prepared most of the ingredients and then focused on the goyza while the broth cooked. They did a great job instructing us on preparing and shaping the dumplings.
Go hungry and know you won’t need lunch after. We ate everything we made! It was all outstanding. Highly recommend!

Our cooking class with...
Our cooking class with Emi was such a special experience! We made some absolutely delicious Japanese dishes, and Emi guided us through each step with patience and care. She shared so many useful tips that we can’t wait to bring back home and try in our own kitchen. The whole experience felt super authentic and local—like cooking with a friend in her home. Emi was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and made us feel so welcome. Highly recommend this class if you’re looking for a meaningful, hands-on experience in Japan. :)
