Loved the Chopstick crafting activity. The artisan was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this memorable experience.

Wow! What a fun experience as a family of four. We were able to pick two pieces of long rectangular wood of our choice and make chopsticks using a tools and sanding. The instructions were clear and my 10 & 12 year old
could do it on their own. Everyone could sand the chopsticks down to whatever shape they wanted to make it more personal. We all got them engraved for 1000 yen extra. We had a great time making our own personal souvenir. Would highly recommend!!!

The artisans were extremely helpful and kind. We had a great experience and have a special keepsake to take home now.

Wow, I really enjoyed this. Safe and very well explained by our chopstick craftsmen’s . Easy and I was proud of the end result. I’ll be using my chopsticks in the future.

It was really cool carving and sanding the wood down to make the chopsticks. There was a nice variety of wood to choose from, with labels telling you what country the wood came from. The staff was really friendly and gave clear instructions on the process to make your chopsticks. A very enjoyable experience with a cool souvenir to take home.

Very helpful staff and a lovely souvenir. Definitely an arm workout if you're not used to that, but a great end result!

Great class for a unique Japan souvenir. I really love taking artisan classes when I travel, and this one was really fun and hands-on. You can choose from all kinds of wood to make your chopsticks from (nicer woods are an upcharge Fyi). You start by planing the wood sticks down to a taper, then hand sanding until they are perfect. Then you have the option to engrave them, and they oil them for finishing. Staff spoke perfect English and helps you through the entire process. Great one hour activity that leaves you with a great souvenir or gift.

This was not a group experience as expected but just a workshop that did not need reservations; Walk-ins are welcome and pay less than this booking. Just select and pay for the wood and follow the instructions written on a placard showing you how to plane your piece of wood into a chopstick with the brace/mold. Little guidance is given and minimal help or support is offered throughout the process. You're on your own to make it work! Every extra is an additional cost including "premium" woods - everything except the three basics. Fun experience if you have time to kill in Tokyo but not terribly creative for a crafty experience.

This was a great experience. It wasn't that expensive and you have a nice souvenir to take home. The lady that helps us made it fun.

This is a fun activity for everyone. Rasmus and Sakura where very informative and helpful. We came away with some very nice chopsticks that they even engraved for us. There is an extra cost for the more expensive woods and the engraving if you want it, but worth it for the final product.

Great experience, very knowledgeable and pleasant instructor. Making your own chopsticks is a fun activity and useful.

This was a super fun way to experience something a little different from the usual tourist activities. Easy to do and the end product was a beautiful set of chopsticks!!

We chose this as an alternative to a day trip as the weather didn’t look as good a day before.
We ended up booking this and a sushi making class to finish our trip to Tokyo. We arrived to a small room with another group almost finished. They explained a few things whilst the instructor Tomo was finishing off their pieces. Ras then helped us choose our materials. He explained the difference styles of wood to work with and preferences.
There were 3 options at the standard price so we each chose a different type. (Upgrade prices varied depending on wood)
Both Tomo and Ras were so helpful and we had our own personal class however the too. Can fit up to about 8 at a time. They were attentive and really friendly and kind especially to our 9yo.
There is an additional option to customise the chopsticks at the end (1000 yen each) which as a special keepsake we opted to do.
A great experience and lovely take home gift

This was a fun experience. The guides who lead you through making the chopsticks are very helpful and the finished product is beautiful. I only wish that we got to learn a little bit more about the history of chopstick-making.

This was a sweet little workshop. There was only room for ten people at a time so you got the help you needed and they were able to show you what to do.
I will say if you've never planed wood before, maybe go for an easier wood. I was a little rocky and went for a very hard wood because it was pretty.... I ended up doing a lot of sanding at the end. But that was on me and I was warned. I just made silly choices for the look. Theyre still beautiful but I struggled more than most other people.

Super cool experience! It's something memorable to bring back especially because you can engrave them. Definitely a cool souvenir.

This was such a hit with our 10 and 12 year olds… and us as parents. The perfect amount of time, such fun. Our guide Kaana was sensational. An easy yes for us to recommend.

What an amazing experience. Hard work but brilliant. Angie was so helpful with every step and we were so happy with the outcome. Took more like 2 hours to finish and not once were we rushed. Would definitely recommend. For us it was a once in a lifetime experience and it was great!

Angie was so welcoming and lovely, we arrived early and it was pretty toasty outside so she and Sensei let us come in early and it was nice and cool. It's in an amazing craftsman's corner of Tokyo and walkable to the Ryogoku Kokugikan as well. Super fun and rewarding to come away with real chopsticks for use!
