What are people saying about Pompeii

Yolanda
Yolanda was a fantastic guide for our tour of Pompeii. She really knew her stuff, walking us through what the city was like before and after Vesuvius erupted.
She's soft-spoken and took her time with everything, never rushing, and made sure we all understood. Everyone felt comfortable asking questions. And despite the brutal heat, she stayed cheerful the whole time.
If you're headed to Pompeii, ask for Yolanda. Highly recommend!

Unbelievable experience!...
Unbelievable experience! Tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about Pompeii and gave us insights to each part of the city. After experiencing the city, a private driver took us to a wine tasting at the base of Mount Vesuvius. Gabrielle provided an excellent wine tasting and lunch, providing details on the origins of the wine and the vineyard. Would recommend to anyone looking to experience history and culture through food/wine!

An incredible look back at a terrifying day
This tour is amazing! Highly recommend because it pairs Pompei with Herculaneum for a double shot of incredible history. Our tour guide Vito was excellent, delivering an amazing amount of info at each site. He kept up a good pace while ensuring we had shade and water breaks on a very hot day. We took the option of the train to Herculaneum and when our train got cancelled, Brigita arranged a van to get us the rest of the way. If you go in the summer, and your tour has an option of a driver over the train, pay the money and take it. Van waiting outside exit with air conditioning blasting > walking to train station and waiting for train. All in all, a great day!

Highly recommended
We booked Sabrina for a private family tour of Pompeii with our two young children, and she was brilliant from start to finish. She struck exactly the right balance for young kids…bringing the ruins to life through stories about everyday Roman life, food, and how people actually lived, rather than just reciting dates and facts, which kept both children genuinely engaged the whole way round. She was also great at pacing the tour to suit us, adjusting the route and tempo so the kids never got bored or overwhelmed by the July heat, while still giving us adults plenty of fascinating detail. Her warmth and patience with the children, combined with real depth of knowledge, made this one of the highlights of our trip to Sorrento. Highly recommend Sabrina for any family visiting Pompeii with young kids….she made ancient history genuinely fun for all of us!

Awesome Tour with Amedeo!!!
This was an amazing tour with Eliana Sandretti tours! Amedeo was so informative about the city, culture and history. There is no other way to see Pompeii without a private tour and especially with the expertise of an archaeological! Amedeo was accommodating and answered all our questions. You can feel his passion for the city through his explanations and detail. Amazing and unforgettable experience!

A reasonably priced option to avoid the cruise ship excursions that is well worth your time!
This was an absolutely awe inspiring trip. For cruisers looking to book an excursion outside of your cruise line, this group could not have made it easier. They wait for you right where the required shuttle buses drop you off. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to answer any questions you have. It's impossible to truly see all of Pompeii in one visit (especially when it is 105 degrees F), but our guide made sure we knew the history, focused on things we showed interest in, and made the visit incredibly memorable. I highly recommend this activity.

Excellent tour
Excellent pace, learned a lot. Wear a hat or bring umbrella and water is a must!! Sara was very informative, answered every question, responsive to requests for water breaks. Absolutely recommended!
(Also, the walk is on cobblestone and sand. Do not attempt if you have mobility issues.)

Best Tour Guide in all Pompeii
Everyone agreed this was the highlight of our trip. Our guide Lello was absolutely incredible to say the least. It ended up just being our little group of four in his group so we got a private tour of Pompeii. He was so knowledgeable but his personality was what made the tour exceptional. He took us around and we got to see a lot in our time there. I would definitely request him and this tour!

Tony was amazing! He...
Tony was amazing! He picked us up directly from our hotel and dropped us off there again. He was so knowledgeable on the ride to the separate locations and was an excellent tour guide once there. He answered all and any questions we had ranging from Pompeii to generalized Italy questions. He also helped us get tickets for my Vesuvius when I was unable to on the website. If you pick this tour it will be so informative, fun, and overall a great way to spend the day touring 2000 years ago! Definitely will be back and using him again for other tours!

Book it! It was one of the highlights of our holiday!
We all thoroughly enjoyed our vineyard tour, tasting and lunch. It started with a warm welcome and then a private tour for our group of 6 around the vineyard in a golf buggy. It's a beautiful place with its own ruins, a stables, a hotel, a small 'zoo' and a pretty outdoor seated area for lunch and tasting. We were initially given a glass of spumanti, which was lovely, and then taken to our table. Our group were sat on our own table and had our own sommelier. She was lovely and really funny. We were given a glass of white, a rose and two reds alongside our lunch, which was also great. We bought another bottle to share as well, although we probably didn't need it! After a long morning exploring Pompeii this was a perfect way to spend the afternoon and one of the highlights of our holiday. It's also very close to the main Pompeii train station - we walked from the park and then got a taxi back.

Engaging, knowledgeable, fun and interesting!
Our tour guide, Elisa, was amazing! From the moment we walked through the gates she told us what we could see with a very engaging mix of humour and knowledge. She took us to all the best spots and told us many of the stories behind the ruins and had answers to any questions our group had! There was points within the tour where she let us go and wander for 5/10 minutes in places where there was a lot to explore but most of the tour was in our group of 11 which I think was a perfect size after seeing some other tours whilst we were there in huge groups. Thank you for making exploring Pompeii so enjoyable and bringing the history to life!

Pompeii is so expansive...
Pompeii is so expansive so this tour was a great way to see a good portion of the site with highlights. Our tour guide was well versed on Pompeii knowledge and was able to provide excellent history and stories in an engaging way. We spent a couple hours after the tour continuing to explore the site. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to understand more about Pompeii!
