TOTALLY Amazing Experience
Amazing experience! We had the most delightful day with Tina our tour guide! She was so knowledgeable and helpful showing us the beautiful sites of Big Sur, Carmel and the surrounding areas! She asked about our interests and tailored the experience to what we wanted! My husband loved that he could experience the beautiful sites while Tina took care of all the driving! We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS EXPERIENCE to anyone who is in the area! It is worth every penny!

Big Sur
I didn’t know what to expect on a self guided tour but I’m so glad I decided to do it! My 15 year old daughter and I loved the tid bit of interesting history and small hidden gems he pointed out along the way. Made the drive enjoyable and stress free!

Sit back and enjoy the view!
We luckily had wonderful weather so we enjoyed clear views of the beautiful water and rocky beaches. We booked this trip and driver because we were not comfortable driving ourselves due to the elevation and winding road. Driver Connie was very experienced and made us feel comfortable to enjoy the views rather than being anxious about the drive itself. The McWay Falls part wasn’t much of a waterfall, I wouldn’t recommend the extra hour for that, but the rest of the trip was great.

  • With few connecting roads, Highway 1 is prone to lengthy traffic backups, especially during the summer high season. Slow down and enjoy the views.

  • Perched on the coast, the road is vulnerable to rockslides, mudslides, and construction closures. Always check road conditions before departing for Big Sur.

  • There is no mobile phone service along much of the highway, due to its remoteness.

  • Those who suffer from car sickness may want to consider taking precautionary measures before a trip to Big Sur.
