Exceeded all expectations!

Exceeded all expectations! I have been horseback riding in Ensenada a few years ago and it was a terrible experience so I was pretty hesitant booking another horseback riding trip but the horses were healthy and strong, easy to ride and very responsive. The owners were friendly and kind and the guide took amazing pictures. Would do it again in a heart beat!

It was an incredible. As a beginner horseback rider, taking lessons back at home, I wanted to experience what it was like to ride like a charro. I opted for hotel pick up which was great since I got to enjoy seeing Mexico City and not stress. Once there, I got fitted with my horse based on my experience and my horse was so beautiful and so calm. We walked through town until we got to the forest and that was magical. Aurelio and Luis were so attentive, always giving pointers/feedback on how to ride like a charro, and also building my confidence as a new horseback rider. The fresh air from the forest, the sounds of the river, everything felt so therapeutic and healing. Then we stopped for tacos and omg- they were amazing. And the chocolate?!?! Wow. I’m convinced that there is no other way to ride if tacos and chocolate aren’t involved in some way. Riding back was such a beautiful breeze, enjoying the sanctuary, hearing Luis and Aurelio’s stories and experiences. They made me feel so safe and secure, like family, while also building my confidence as a rider. I am already planning my trip back here because it’s something you could do again and again and again. Gracias Luis y Aurelio! Me dieron seguridad y confianza- las cosas que me faltaban antes :)

Great excursion! Would recommend!

What an excellent experience! The ranch was so nice to visit, the staff were amazing. We ended up with a private tour because we were the only ones signed up and they didn’t cancel the excursion which we appreciated. Highlight of my trip! The views were incredible and the ride was gorgeous! Loved every minute of it!

Martin was such a vibe and obviously well trained with the horses! our tequila guy was amazing with the information he provided, you can tell he loves his job. the food was great & learning how to make our own salsa was fun!! thank youuu. now the only i wished was different was maybe spending like 5 minutes with the horse we rode lol i think it’s important to build that relationship.. i do understand that cuts into time but as a horse owner i know that relationship and trust is important.

I had the chance to visit...

I had the chance to visit Lienzo Charros de Jalisco and learn more about the tradition, values, and heart behind charreria. What stood out to me most was the relationship between the charro and the horse; the trust, discipline, respect, patience, and connection it takes to move together as one. I learned that being a charro is about much more than the clothing or the sport. It represents honor, courage, loyalty, respect, tradition, and pride in where you come from. This experience also made me think about the way I've always loved; deeply, passionately, and especially the women who have been important in my life. Maybe that comes from something rooted even deeper in me. In my genes, I have the heart of a Mexican and the soul of a charro. Being there reminded me just how beautiful and powerful my culture is. There is something special about experiencing traditions that have been passed down through generations and seeing them kept alive with so much pride. And the saying is true: when you come to Lienzo Charros de Jalisco, you leave a more Mexican than when you came.

Short experience but worth the price

The horseback riding was very short wish it was just a bit longer, there are 5 zip lines and each one they have you doing different things like going backwards or turning upside down. The tequila tasting was really good as well the coffee tequila was my favorite. Cenote was refreshing, and end the experience with two tiny pork tacos that were pretty good. This was a quick 3-4 hour experience and is ideal if you’re looking for something that isn’t all day.

An Unforgettable, Authentic Family Experience!

Our day at Rancho Xotolar was easily one of the highlights of our time in San Miguel de Allende. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with the kind of genuine warmth and hospitality that makes you feel instantly like part of the family. The entire excursion was flawlessly coordinated. The trail ride itself was spectacular, taking us through breathtaking, ruggedly beautiful landscapes that show you a whole different side of the region. The horses were clearly well-loved, gentle, and highly responsive. A massive thank you to the owner, Tomas, and to Leo and Felix, and all members of their kind and capable family, who went above and beyond to make sure our ride and ranch tour were safe, fascinating, and incredibly fun. Learning about the history and daily life of the ranch directly from them made the experience so much more meaningful. To top it all off, we were treated to a phenomenal, fresh, home-cooked lunch prepared right there at the ranch. If you want an authentic, breathtaking adventure rooted in deep family tradition and hospitality, do not miss Rancho Xotolar. We cannot recommend them highly enough and hope to return for another unique experience one day!

Worth it!!!

We had to reschedule due to rain and that whole experience was so easy, so I was grateful for that. We had such a good time and I can’t even count how many times I said “this is so beautiful!” Nico took great photos (so maybe have your hair brushed and wear some mascara, cuz one of us 🙋‍♀️ was very unhappy with how she looked 🤣) many of the people spoke English on site including the photographer who came with us. Our butts are sore but our hearts are full!

Great memories made with Go Diving Cancun

I had an amazing experience diving with Go Diving Cancun. They provided all the equipment. I am a qualified diver but hadn't dived for a long time so I needed a confidence boost. Clemente took time to go through a full refresher with me, explaining everything from buoyancy technique, hand signals and equipment set-up. It was a small group in the sea, just four of us in total. We had 2 dives, 45 minutes at MUSA and 55 minutes at a reef that also had a couple of statues. The worst part of diving I find is the hanging around, but there was none of that with this. Underwater, the sea was clear and we saw loads of fish as well as a baby shark, spiny lobster and, best of all, a turtle who gave us a show. Clemente took it nice and easy so we could get photos, and pointed out things to see. He even gave me a lift back to my accommodation afterwards. Just a heads-up for those booking on Viator, the meeting location is wrong. It is inside the Hotel Sotavento by the pool.

Horeseback riding

The horseback riding was great. We really enjoyed it. And the lunch was good too. Be prepared, you only ride the horses for an hour but there is another hour with check in and getting ready. It is very well organized. When you factor in travel there and back, it is a 4 hour excursion for one hour on the horse.

Rough around the edges but still fun.

As a family we shared a UTV. It was well used but ran well. The horse riding was entertaining. The park fee was $25 per person. Don’t recall seeing that in the listing. The photos were quite expensive and the tequila was more expensive than most stores. The helmets were quite used and nasty. They expected large tips and guilted us to pay them. Overall though it was a fun time.
