Yunuen was the perfect guide. I became more nervous with the horses than I anticipated but everyone was incredibly patient and guided me. The scenery was beautiful and such a unique experience! Would definitely recommend!

Beautiful horses and scenery

We loved getting to meet and spend time with Yunuen and his 2 kiddos. Super sweet family. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t cooperate. It rained the entire day. We still rode the horses but didn’t get the full experience due to slippery conditions. We were thankful that Yunuen cut the ride short for our safety. Lunch and drinks after were delicious! We had a yummy Mexican soup that warmed us up followed by a delicious Mexican bbq. I would recommend this tour 10/10. I hope to do it again when it’s not raining. Yunuen told us that we can reach out for a free reschedule the next time we’re in town which we thought was a very nice offer!

Ripped Off

I was ripped off. The guide cancelled last minute with illness as an excuse. He said he would refund me and did not. Do not book with this guy.

Torres Equestrian is a must

Awesome experience. Loved the trek in the mountains. Yunuen was really through on the horses, where the traill was and offered excellent tip's. The guy loves the horses and wants you to enjoy the experience.

Overpriced for underwhelming experience.

Overall a slightly underwhelming experience. A few things which could have been done better. 1) The host arrived 30mins late due to traffic in Mexico City. I can understand this as the traffic can be bad but maybe leave earlier? The host did let me know by texting me that he would be 30mins late which was good. 2) The experience with the horses was mixed. Due to arriving late we only got 70mins on the horses and half of that time was travelling through the village. The part when we were in the forest and grass was amazing. Really enjoyed that part, wish we had longer. The host did mention they do different routes and we had the time so why not spend longer on the horses in the nice area? It did rain shorty after arriving back to the house but if we had arrived 30mins ealier we could have spent longer in the forest I think. 3) My girlfriend is pescatarian (only eats fish and veg). The host asked us 2 weeks before if we had any diet restrictions and I mentioned this. So it was disappointing that she was only served spaghetti with salt and pepper. It seems the host did not remember the diet restriction until he asked again on the drive up to the house. The host mentions that they regularly have vegetarians to the house but I dont think they serve plain boiled spaghetti with salt and pepper. They did give some melted cheese as well. The good parts: - host was very friendly and polite - horses looked very good - host explained how to ride well and took good care of us while on the horses. - we felt safe the whole time - food was good if you eat meat (beef steak and chicken alternate available) - the host did give us what was described Overall, the execution of the day was poor but can be fixed with better planning. For £375 for 2 people for 70mins on horses and a meal which only one person enjoyed (I had to buy my girlfriend food once we reached the city) and transportation (which was late) did not feel good value. I would not lay in so hard if the experience was cheaper as I would have less expectations.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, this is the first time someone says it is expensive. It is important to mention that the time on horseback is not free, there is a standard time and, above all, the duration and type of ride is determined according to the ability and experience of the riders, which in your case was zero. For safety and comfort, we chose to do the standard time with you guys. No one had complained before, but we will gladly consider your recommendations. :)

Beautiful trip for couples

This was an unbelievable experience. The scenery was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the guide Yuneun was simply fantastic. I had never been horseback riding before and had a great time. My girlfriend had a wonderful time as well. Yuneun's love for his horses and joy of riding has made this more than a business. His passion comes through in his conversations and interactions with you and the animals. We felt like we were visiting an old friend more than just having a tour guide. The setting was intimate and we were at ease the whole time because Yuneun takes care of the whole trip. Service is spotty and having someone arrange all the transportation and travel with you from start to finish makes the trip even more relaxing. The ride was the perfect length of time. You can tell the horses were well taken care of and we'll trained. By the end of the ride I felt a connection to the horse and I can see why horseback riding can become a way of life. It was a really special day. Words fail to convey what your eyes will see. Vast stretches of brush, cacti, and flowers paint the foreground as the mountains rise up majestically against the blue sky. There is a raw beauty that you need to be immersed in and consumed by in order to know it. Throw your phone away and feel like you are one with the horse and nature. The story of the day cannot be told without mentioning the food. Before the ride you are served a big plate of quesadillas with a spicy tasty salsa and creamy smooth guacamole. Afterwards you are served an authentic barbecue cooked up in the mountains just for you. The meats were divine, juicy, buttery treats that melted in your mouth. Grilled Chorizo, cactus, and delightful avacdo salad finished off the meal. Each and every bite was perfect. It's felt like a home cooked meal made by your sweet grandmother who taught your mom how to cook. If this were a restaurant in Boston it would be the talk of the town.

Had a great day with a wonderful host. Trip was exactly as represented. We saw beautiful views, had great ride into the mountains. We are experienced western riders and found the Spanish sadles interesting. The food before and after the ride was excellent! Highly recommend!

Authentic Mexican ranch experience

We are very grateful for this experience and consider it as one of the best experiences during our 12 day stay in Mexico City. My wife and I went on this full day tour with absolutely zero regrets. Transport was easy as we got picked up at the meeting point and got dropped off at our hostel. We arrived at the beautiful ranch and had some dinks and snacks before we started the horseback riding. We had a brief introduction on how to handle the horses. The horses are very well trained and easy to handle. None of us had much experience with horses, but we felt very safe. Yunoen (the guide) took us on a beautiful and long ride into the nearby mountain area. The barbecue afterwards was delicious and had everything we could ask for. It felt for a day like we were a part of the family.

Not your average trail ride

Yunuen was a gracious, knowledgeable, and generous host for this truly spectacular experience. He was a good communicator leading up to the trip and during as well. We were picked up in Mexico City and driven out to the ranch in the mountains where his family keeps their horses. We drank coffee and had a snacks outside with a nice view of the area. We then practiced riding at his ranch and hit the trail. The horses were well behaved and Yunuen took care to choose appropriate horses for us as individuals with differing riding skills. We rode on a wide trail, so we could be side by side if we wanted. We saw sheep being herded down the trail and passed a few locals along the way. When we returned to the ranch we were served beer and ate a lovely hot lunch prepared right there on the premises. After this, Yunuen and another ranch hand gave a spectacular showing of a Lipizzaner (I believe) stallion dancing with music and all! We could not have asked more of this experience.

Can’t ask for more, would love to go back!

Less than an hour away from the city, we arrived at this beautiful nature calling country side of Mexico’s private horse ranch. Depends on your experience level, the cowboys will pick a perfect horse to match you. My 70 years old mom had so much fun!! The food was prepared with local flavor, served with wine was a plus. Would definitely recommend this tour. Very relaxing and fun time.

I was nervouse with the horses, but it was still lots of fun. The food was yummy. It was a jourrney of self discovery in a sense. I was lucky to be able to ride the more gentle horse. Have some chronic pain, and the horse knew, even though I 'forget' about it, so she was gentle with me.

One of my favorite tour experiences ever, this is a must-do. It was so nice to escape the city and ride horses through the beautiful landscape. The ranch is breathtaking and the tour guide was very kind, conversational and friendly. The food that they served was exceptional, and the tables where you eat on the ranch had an incredible view. The horses were very well trained and easy to ride. It was about an hour car ride to get there which is not bad at all, considering you feel like you're in a totally different part of mexico. I went alone but met friendly locals at the lunch afterward and had great conversation. The wine flowed, the music was on point, and we even got a little show by the horse trainers. I think this is a great trip for groups of friends, solo, or couples.

I spent a delightful day with Francisco who was a very friendly, attentive and entertaining host, which I greatly appreciated as a solo female traveler. Everything was terrific from the communication and hospitality to the horse riding and the delicious food, drinks and company. Every detail was taken care of so all I had to do was relax and enjoy the day! 5 stars.

AMAZING!! A must-do experience!

Yunuen is a wonderful tour guide and speaks great English! He and his teammates were so kind, and he communicated with me through WhatApp so well. I was traveling by myself and as a solo female, I was concerned to go by myself…but there was absolutely NOTHING to worry about. Yunuen picked me up from the meeting point in Mexico City and walked me through the whole process clearly. The drive was about an hour out of the city (be patient with traffic!). We had a snack at the ranch, he let me practice with their mare, and then we were off riding up the trail. I’m a city girl, a beginner horse rider, and a naturally clumsy person…but the mares were so gentle and calm. Dogs barked and cars drove by, and the horses weren’t fazed at ALL. The nature and mountains are gorgeous, and I learned so much for Yunuen! We had lunch at the ranch after and it was delicious. Their were sweet kids and dogs on the ranch, and with my VERY limited Spanish, I was able to interact with them because they were so patient and welcoming! If you come with an open mind and you don’t have any major injuries (I have a bad knee and I was still fine!), then I highly recommend this tour! You’re supporting a local person who owns the ranch and makes sure the horses are happy. Even if you change your mind and don’t want to ride the horses, just hanging out at the ranch and being able to pet them is therapeutic. It’s such an intimate and unique experience that I would do it again in a heartbeat! This is unlike any other touristy trip you’ll do in the city - you won’t regret it. ¡Muchas gracias, Yunuen!

Wonderful Riding Experience

My husband and I had a wonderful time with Yunen on this experience. My husband has had little experience riding while I am an intermediate rider, and Yunen was able to accommodate both of us. The horses are well taken care of and a joy to ride. The property is magical and we had excellent food when we arrived and after we rode. I would highly recommend this experience! It was a highlight of our trip to Mexico City.

We had an absolutely stunning day out here with the Torres group. Our tour ended up being private as only our group had booked for that day, and we definitely got VIP treatment! Amazing food and drinks all around, and they were able to accomodate vegetarian diet restrictions for my dad. We had a lovely trail ride, and got to learn all about the horses and the ranch. It's a family owned and run place, just amazing.

We loved our time with Yunuen at his family's ranch. It was a wonderful day from start to finish, with tasty quesadillas upon arrival and a delicious lunch after the ride. The horses are beautiful and very user friendly, I was comfortable enough to trot a bit at the end! A bonus was hanging out with Yunuen's ADORABLE son, Killian - he was really a highlight of our time. Definitely recommend this.

An incredible way to explore outside Mexico City

I have been riding for most of my life but despite not being a naturally confident rider, Yunuen made sure I had loads of fun while still feeling safe on his beautifully trained horses. The hot lunch afterwards rivalled a meal I had the day before at an expensive steak restaurant. I felt very spoilt! Quite embarrassingly, I was unwell after my ride - due only to my own health issues. While I certainly don’t condone making Yunuen a stand-in medical caretaker, I’m incredibly grateful for his kindness and compassion. Thanks again Yunuen. In spite of all this, I still managed to have a fantastic day! Yunuen and his colleagues went above and beyond to make this a very enjoyable and one-of-a-kind experience. I will remember this tour as my favourite memory of Mexico City and will be recommending this ride to my horse riding friends back in the U.K.

Stunning views, wonderful guide, authentic experience

We had an amazing time with Yunuen at the beautiful ranch where his family’s horses live, nestled in the mountains of Mexico City. The excursion was the highlight of our trip and a fabulous way to experience an authentic part of Mexico while spending time outside of the city and in nature. Yunuen was very communicative throughout, from the moment of initial booking to the very end, when he kindly sent my husband and I pictures from the day. The lunch was *delicious* (and served in addition to the wonderful snacks we were served upon arrival). The horses were lovely and docile. Very easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend this excursion with Yunuen and Torres Aventuras! 5+ stars!! Muchas gracias!

A beautiful comfortable day. Picked up at meeting point on time and greeted by Yunie. Great English and so friendly and excited for the adventure. Joined by two other guests in vehicle as we rode up the hills and up and up. We arrived at the top of the mountain to a small ranch with a picnic table set with snacks, drinks and attention. Then we were given a hat to wear, met the horses, and went off into the the blue sky and trails in the Mountain Park. Fantastic experience. Good amount of time to ride with safety at time of mind. What a great experience. The food so yummy and the drinks plenty. Bathroom facilities. it was hard to say adios. Our small group of 3 guests loved the whole experience. We all wanted to stay even longer. Don't skip this. It is truly awesome and fun! The horses very calm-mares.

Beautiful Views and Great Food

This experience was truly enjoyable. I had such a great time riding horses and taking in the mountain view. The drive out of the city is a great way to see different parts of Mexico City if you're staying in the city center. The best part, hands down, is the food. This was some of the best food I had on my whole trip. I highly recommend!

Great day outside the city. The host are great and very friendly. On time pickup from the hotel and we’re greeted by the dogs upon arrival. Horseback riding was great and they served us a great lunch afterwards with wine. Highly recommend this tour.

Splendid Cultural Ranch Experience!

Yuni was a great tour guide and horse wrangler. He went through all safety features based on each riders experience and checked on us throughout the ride. The scenery was majestic and the experience was such a cultural pleasure. The meal and drinks afterwards were home cooked and delightful as were the family staff preparing them. Fantastic tour and overall experience and I recommend highly!
