This was a wild ride to see one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I would highly recommend doing this tour as it helps you avoid the annoyance of registering for the PR1 and allows you to avoid the crowds that are supposedly there are sunrise. Jorge picked us up in Funchal and weaved through the crazy narrow roads straight up through the hills and above the clouds. We arrived at about 7:45 and had plenty of time to hike to the Stairway to Heaven and even past it before sunset hit at about 9:15. We were then given a half hour to get back to the van, which allowed us to watch the colors of the sky change before it got dark. Get ready for lots of stairs, btw. Overall, it was a majestic experience to that pictures can't really capture.

We had 5 days in Madrid and this seemed the best way to sample the island and return to places if we wanted to. It did not disappoint at all. Sure you could have dropped a couple of the smaller stops but your passing them so why would you. Madeira is an amazing place. Pictures do not do it justice. It realy goes from small fishing village to Jurassic park , above the clouds and Hawaii coastlines. You get all this and more on the trip. We were at capacity 14 people and never felt to much. I must give mention to Gloria ( beep beep ) our driver / guide. Wonderful knowledge and a great character. Who most definitely enhanced the trip As the title states “ just book it “

Well organised from the hotel pick up to the drop off afterwards. Paulo our guide worked hard to make sure everybody in the group was comfortable with the pace and kept informed about what was happening. The poxt walk coffee/drinks stop was definitely a case of going the extra mile! Definitely Recommended!!
