We have two meeting points in the center of Funchal City. One is by the cable car station located in the old town. The other is located in the roundabout so-called "Rotunda do Infante".

Scenic views hike

The trail was breathtaking — rugged cliffs, dramatic ocean views on both sides, and vibrant volcanic colors at every turn. Eliseo, the guide, paced the hike well, making sure everyone was comfortable while also pointing out hidden viewpoints and interesting ecological details we would’ve missed on our own. We even got a short break for swimming. Lovely day.

Nice views on an easy difficulty hike

Not the easiest of hike with loose rocks however our guide was super attentive to safety. There is a possibility to climb up to the very peak at the very furthest point of the hike, which is at your own risk as the path is not well maintained with missing railings and loose rocks. Hiking boots recommended for this part.
