A wonderful morning at Buckingham Palace

I had a really wonderful experience at Buckingham Palace. Despite being born and raised in London, this was my first visit. The outside tour was a great way to start the day, with our cheerful tour guide pinpointing notes of interest from the Duke of York column to the palace entrance. Upon entering the palace, I was mesmerised by the splendour of the architecture, the glorious collection of paintings and poignant artefacts of past royals. What a joy!

A delightful trip outside of London.

The trip started early at 7:30am until 6pm. Our Guide Trish was great and very knowledgeable. She had a lot of little details to fill in our time on the bus. It was about 2 hrs to the first of 2 villages in the Cotswolds area. Some of the buildings go back to the 1600s. We had about an hour in each village in which we had a short tour and then the rest of the time to explore on our own. Next we went on to Oxford to see this prestigious university which has been around since the 1200s. It was a long but delightful day.

Great tour if you want highlights rather than depth, so that you can see more spots in whatever time you have. Viator / Golden Tours / Gray Line has put together a good trip. Our tour guide Amanda was so upbeat and friendly all day and provided great information throughout. Bus driver Hassan was quite professional at getting through London traffic out and back. Recommend this tour if you want a good highlights of these attractions.

Tom was a ton of fun and had great ghost stories! Along the way you hit amazing sites with Easter eggs of history that are very off the beaten path. The icing on the cake for our tour was that a London light drizzle during the unfortunate tale of Margaret Pole produced a rainbow over the Tower of London! (I’m sure ole Maggie was saying hey!!)

I loved this experience! Our guide was very informative. I appreciated his time and knowledge. The food was very good. I’m glad the portions were small- otherwise, it’d be hard for me to finish! Everything was very nice, but my favorites were the fish & chips and the sticky toffee pudding. It was also nice to have a little down time to roam the market, as well as a surprise treat at the end! Wow!!!!! I would give the Legends of Rock tour 10 stars if I could. This tour was way more than I expected. Ian was the BEST tour guide for this experience. He was friendly, knowledgeable, engaging, and connected with each passenger on the tour. Our driver Matty was one in a million and I give him so much credit for driving the streets of London with expertise and patience. While I enjoy music but this tour was not my selection, it was for my mother a Beatles super fan and 60s music lover the Legends of Rock tour ended up being my favorite activity we did in London. Go on this tour, you will love it!
