Itinerary
Your afternoon pub tour begins in the City of London. Meet your guide and set off for the first stop of your tour.
As you walk, spot major attractions such as St. Paul's Cathedral and the bustling Fleet Street. Pass the former site of a Shakespearean playhouse, then pop into the art nouveau Blackfriars for a drink. Grab a pint (own expense) and enjoy colorful stories from this neighborhood's banking community.
Next, head down Fleet Street, flush with pubs and gin palaces once frequented by the journalists and literary greats of the day. Stop at a proper London boozer to buy yourself a delicious local ale (or two), admire the authentic medieval decor, and enjoy the buzz as regulars and newcomers fill up the wooden tables surrounding the horseshoe-shaped bar.
Continue along Fleet Street, the former stomping grounds of Charles Dickens. Visit a 17th-century pub that was a favorite of Dickens and fellow writers such as Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and Alfred Lord Tennyson. Sip on a delicious beer or cider (not included), and soak up the literary history of the place.
Your tour ends at the edge of Covent Garden with plenty of time (and insider information) to continue the fun at another local pub.

Shadow was an amazingly knowledgeable guide, which is not surprising considering she has a masters degree in the topic. She was also very personable.

Really good tour- historical and informative with the bonus being the ability to have a couple of drinks.

Saw four pubs so a quick drink in each. Informative talk by leader which was entertaining. Was a good quick tour.

We had such a great time with Lyndon! The tour was honestly much better than we expected. He knows so much about the history, the pubs and all the stories behind them, and tells everything in such a fun way.
Our group was great fun too, and of course we tried a different beer in every pub… and somehow managed to finish them all pretty quickly! 😂🍺 We laughed a lot, learned a lot and had a fantastic time from start to finish.
Big thanks to Lyndon for such a fun and memorable tour. Absolutely recommended!

Ah the magical disappearing beer trick. Happens all the time. Uncanny! Cheers!

A tour based on a piss-up in the sweltering heat and heat of London with an over-enthusiastic Irish tour guide - what could possibly go wrong?! Well, actually, nothing. We had a great time on this interesting and very informative tour. We would thoroughly recommend it. Many thanks Dave from Guy and Lauren (Yorkie's rule 😁)

100% satisfied with this tour. Well organized, on time and just the right pace. Our guide Will was outstanding - giving just the right mix of history and drink recommendations at some great places!

Great to hear that we hit the spot. Cheers!

Freddie made this pub tour one of the best parts of our London trip. His knowledge of the history behind each pub was fantastic — he clearly loves what he does, and it showed. But what really stood out was how he brought the group together. Within the first stop, we went from a bunch of strangers to feeling like old friends swapping stories over a pint. Great pace, great stories, and Freddie's personality made the whole night. Highly recommend this tour if you want history with a lot of heart.

Great afternoon tour of 4 historic pubs learning the history of each pub and other city landmarks as we strolled around. Will our guide was funny, knowledgeable and entertaining - recommended beer, cider & gin choices for each pub, which we enjoyed. Relaxed atmosphere, would definitely recommend.

A great tour to learn about the history of the city and pub culture.
Lyndon did a great job at keeping everyone engaged. It was the highlight of our day.

This is definitely the best way to see some of the most historic and memorable pubs in London! We’re so glad we found it.

Get ready to enjoy 3+ hours walking around London stopping at 4 historically interesting pubs! Our phenomenal tour guide Lachlan was very well versed in the history of the pubs, in addition the sites in the city we went by as well. Lachlan gave good beer recommendations and highlighted featured cocktails as well. The 1st stop was a gin parlour so for those of you thinking it's pints only think again! Note tour cost doesn't include your bevvies. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, in that it takes you to pubs you would never know were there! We particularly enjoyed Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese- one of Dickens favorite pubs. If you're considering a pub tour, this is the one to do in London. Thank you Lachlan for a memorable, informative and truly enjoyable evening in London!

Linden is highly knowledgable, friendly, and made sure we were having a good time. Any questions I asked, he had the answers too. We also got some really niche interesting nuggets of information on the walk and we went to pubs I never would've found on my own. We also had a great group for our walking tour. It was one of my favorite activities while there. If you're interested in beer and history, this is a fantastic tour!
CATHERINE_P, Jun 2026
Loved the history about each pub/tavern as well as general history about the times and where the pubs are located.
Karen_P, Jun 2026
Good drinks, nice people and interesting history from Will our tour guide. Kept us moving and in the shade during this London heat wave!
Norm_S, Jun 2026
Great tour of the “City of London” which doesn’t cover much territory. Great history of the area and some great pubs!
Sirena_S, Jun 2026
We had the BEST time on this tour! Definitely one of the highlights of our trip! Our guide, Adam, was extremely knowledgeable about everything from the neighborhoods, the pubs, the beers, and everything in between. He was very funny as well! We learned a ton of history and had some great beers with an awesome guide. We highly recommend!
Natasha_Q, Jun 2026
This was actually my second time taking this history pub tour, and it was just as incredible as the first! The tour hits 4 fantastic pubs, and while 2 of them I had experienced on the last tour, the mix of history and local flavor never gets old.
What I truly appreciate about this tour and team is how incredibly dog-friendly the experience is. One of the stops on our route technically doesn’t allow dogs inside. I was perfectly happy to sit outside with my pup to enjoy my pint, but our amazing guide went above and beyond, asking the staff on our behalf. They graciously accommodated us and let us inside! That level of care and hospitality meant the world to me. If you want great history, great drinks, and a guide who truly looks after the group (including the four-legged members), book this tour!

We had an absolutely fantastic time on the London Historical Pub Tour and would recommend it without hesitation! Our guide Dave was the highlight of the experience — witty, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. He had a real gift for bringing London’s history to life, weaving fascinating stories about each pub into something genuinely entertaining rather than a dry history lesson. His humour kept the whole group engaged and laughing throughout. The walking tour itself was brilliantly put together, taking us through some truly characterful spots we never would have discovered on our own. It was the perfect mix of history, culture, and of course, great pubs! If you’re visiting London and want to experience the city in a fun and memorable way, do yourself a favour and book this tour. Ask for Dave — you won’t be disappointed!

Great review and thanks for the support of our Grat British pubs. Cheers!
Amy_D, Jun 2026
The pubs were cool but the information was shared on noisy streets where it was difficult to hear. Overall, for us, it was good not great.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
Great to hear that you enjoyed the pubs, and apologies for the noisy London streets. We do spend around 50% of the time within the pubs, so guests are welcome to discuss further and pick the brain of the guide over a quiet pint or 4. Cheers!
Geri_G, Jun 2026
Amazing tour. Fascinating history. Great beer. Most importantly, our tour guide Lyndon was exceptional!
Lyne_C, Jun 2026
Excellent pub tour. Our guide was excellent, funny and interesting. Strongly recommend this tour. We visited 4 different pubs, all of them with their own history.
Response from Host, Jun 2026
