What are people saying about Lima

Amazing experience
We had a truly wonderful time on the Full Day Tour From Lima: Paracas and Huacachina Oasis! From start to finish, the trip was well organized, smooth, and packed with unforgettable experiences. The landscapes were stunning, and everything ran efficiently, making it a great way to explore these incredible destinations in a single day.
A special shoutout to our tour guide, Lizbeth, who was absolutely exceptional. Her English was excellent, and she demonstrated true professionalism, enthusiasm, and care throughout the trip. She communicated everything clearly with step-by-step instructions, making the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. She truly went above and beyond — she deserves a raise!
The only downside of the trip was with the sandboarding/dune buggy upgrade. We paid for a 2-hour experience, but only got one round of sandboarding, which was disappointing. There was no clear communication about this, and that part of the tour felt rushed compared to the rest of the day.
Aside from that, everything else was fantastic, and we still had an amazing time overall. With a bit more transparency and better execution on the upgraded experience, this tour would be absolutely perfect.
Highly recommend the tour — and especially Lizbeth! 👏

Best food tour!
This tour was an amazing experience! The tour guided us through a typical Peruvian breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert, and included a Pisco sour at an old school bar! Definitely come hungry! I liked how the tour was spaced out with breaks to learn about the history and view the street art of Barranco to give ourselves a chance to digest. It was also super neat to watch the cooking demonstrations of Lomo saltado and ceviche! Lastly, our tour guide, Paola, was an absolute delight! She was full of knowledge and was so personable.

Great Day Trip from Lima
The trip was a fantastic opportunity to explore outside of Lima, and it was not disappointing. We did everything mentioned in the description. The bus was very comfortable/clean with an onboard bathroom. Our guide GIA was wonderful and kept us informed every step of the way and very friendly and knowledgeable. The boat ride was very nice, and the Chandelier Geoglyph was interesting to see from the water. I was a little underwhelmed for this being the “Galapagos” of Peru. We saw a few sea lions and birds but not much else. I can’t hold the company accountable for this though as that is the chance you take with wildlife viewing. The Pisco tour and tasting was very nice! We had a delicious lunch and enjoyed the show with a tour of the distillery and a visit to the tasking room and gift shop afterwards. Finally, we got to the oasis, it was beautiful and we really enjoyed our visit there before heading out to go dune bashing which was a pretty cool and exhilarating ride. Next, we did the sandboarding and finished with the sunset over the massive sand dunes after a quick snack and beverage service.
Like many reviews I read that mentioned this before booking, this is a VERY LONG day trip. The 18hr length is if the whole day goes without issue. Our issue was traffic and road closures that we had come across because of a local parade. This part was unexpected, but we were allowed to leave the bus and watch the parade so that was very cool. However, all of this extended our day trip to close to 22 hours. We got picked up at 4:30AM and didn’t get back to our hotel until 2:00AM the next day. Just something to consider as much as we enjoyed the day trip overall, we were exhausted!!

The best day ! So many awesome adventures.
This was a 10 out of 10. It’s a long day packed with Peruvian history, traditions and adventures. In Paracas we saw penguins, sea lions, many species of birds, and dolphins. The boat ride was lovely. Enjoyed the quick stop in the textile house and bought a beautiful hand made wall hanging. The lunch at the winery was a nice break from the activity and travel. It was interesting to see the fractional method if making Pisco. The tastings were also good.
Then a quick drive to Huacachina. To see an oasis in the desert felt like a movie. The dune buggy was thrilling .. just fast and bumpy enough. Sand boarding was awesome and the sunset was breathtaking.
Our guide, Oswaldo was the best. He had so much energy and made it fun with the themed music he brought. A great soundtrack for the day. Highly recommend.

This was a once in a...
This was a once in a lifetime experience. We got to see so much and all the views were amazing. Paracas was beautiful and the sea lions were super cute. We also went to a local vineyard and tasted traditional pisco sours. I will say that a lot of our group’s orders got messed up, but other than that it was good. The buggy experience was the best and so was sandboarding. Arturo is the best tour guide!

For Chocolate Lovers
It was only three of us so it was very intimate and enjoyable. The young woman who ran the experience was absolutely amazing. So cool to try a bunch of different types of chocolate and learn the history behind it
10/10 would recommend doing this, especially for the price.

We enjoyed all three tours Ballestas Island, pisco and wine tour as well as Huachachina which was the best. Book with them for the best experience. We got a Hostel if we needed to change and freshen up as well....Great tour.

Carlos - The Ultimate Guide
Wow - what a day we had!
We cannot recommend Carlos highly enough as the ultimate guide. This was an unforgettable experience into the mountains, and a first taste of The Andes, with a dramatic drive up to Marcahuasi at 4,000m....through hills, gorges, across the fast flowing river below and a final stop at the last town before the summit - San Pedro de Casta. A chance to meet some locals and get a feel for the way that they live. So meaningful to see happy and contented locals living out their totally natural and happy existence and way of life.
Carlos is well known on this drive and clearly liked by everyone. He takes time to talk to everyone he passes with a smile and a wave. He is also happy to give locals a lift from San Pedro de Casta to the top of the mountain to tend their cattle (for them only a short trip of 15 mins rather than a 2 hour walk) if he has room in his great Toyota Land Cruiser, that can happily handle any on road or off road challenge.
At the top we experienced total peace and tranquility - truly the quietest place we have been on this earth. Amazing. We then spent a glorious and relaxed 2 hours on a gentle walk taking in the breathtaking views, lagoon, ancient rock formations and ruins of a village dwelling from over 1,000 years ago.
Departing Lima at 5am to avoid the heaviest traffic, the 3.5hr journey to the summit went in no time. Incredible scenery and a great education and commentary provided by Carlos the whole way.
A most memorable experience and how lucky we were to have found Carlos - amazing to have full access to this magical place.
Thank you Carlos - never to be forgotten.

Experience the first known civilization of the Americas
If you are coming to see Machu Picchu, add this to the list. A great opportunity to see a pre-Inka civilization. From 2800 BC, the pyramids and structures have amazing architecture and as well preserved. Johanna was an amazing guide with lots of information about history of Caral. The on-site facilities are impressive. An underappreciated archeological treasure the deserves more global attention.

Great Way to Visit Lima
We enjoyed our tour to Lima, which included a one and a half hour walking tour of the historical center. Our tour guide was amazing and helped us navigate a very busy historical centre given it was a national holiday. There was so much more to see than I had imagined. Lima’s historic centre is quite grand with most of it accessible on a pedestrian path. It was New Year’s Day, and everyone was out celebrating. I think we would’ve been lost without a guide. The bus to and from the historic centre was comfortable, although some conflict arose about seat switching, which had nothing to do with the tour company, but some very arrogant tourists on board became extremely aggressive and antagonizing to all the Latino tourists on the bus. My children and I were quite shocked and everybody was very uncomfortable with their aggression. This is not reflection on the company. We were on the upper deck and the guides were on the main deck.

Worth it!
What a great experience!!! Rodriquez was fun and informative. He sent us pictures after our experience. Thank you! Being able to be in the water, see the wildlife (PENGUINS!!!) and swim with the sea lions. Sure it may be a bit chilly at first, but any thoughts about being chilly goes away when you see curious beautiful sea lions swimming around you / don’t hesitate/ just do it!

Not seeing something you are looking for?
Lima’s central location in Peru makes it the ideal base for exploring the surrounding landscapes, comprising rugged coastlines, desert dunes, and snow-capped peaks. Lima day trips save you hours of planning by taking care of tickets, tours, and transport, so you can sit back and soak up the scenery rather than navigating public transport and struggling with a different language. Within day-tripping distance of the capital, you’ll find mystical stone forests, an acid-green desert oasis, and Pacific Ocean islands inhabited by sea lions.
