What are people saying about Amazon

Wonderful Tour with Marlon - a great tour guide!
Marlon was a wonderful guide. He showed us Belen market and told us all the background stories. It was fascinating. Highly recommend this activity. We could have never navigated this market without a guide and Marlon with his good English skills and superb knowledge of the market and its people introduced us to the wonders of the Amazon.

The best!!!!
Allen!!! Amazing tour guide!!!
I had spent almost 3 weeks trying to find the best version of this trip. After reading ample reviews I settled on this trip and it didn’t disappoint. The accommodation is secure for personal belongings. The food was actually amazing fresh meat salad and rice for each meal!!! And fresh juice each day! The trips were well planned with a decent rest gap between!! Even scary trips like kayaking on the river in darkness I felt safe with our guide. Every time we saw something he knew exactly what it was and showed us the history!!!
A few pointers which I wish I’d of known prior are:
The complaint of cold showers isn’t an issue we were sweating 80% of the time so a cold shower was needed.
The designated room is lockable so all valuables are safe.
The purified water isn’t great so either bring bottled water with you or buy it on site
WiFi between 7am and 10pm in main area only after that there’s no electricity
Bring small change for tribe tips but it isn’t forced
Insects are a battle so bring lots of bug spray

Once in a lifetime experience, DO IT!
Once in a lifetime experience to see the rainforest at its best. Our guide, Ronal, was a superstar. He made sure that we saw and experienced everything in the jungle. Exotic animals, tropical fruits and nature all wrapped in one. The lodge was what you’d expect. It does get real hot, cold showers are a must and they have a pool to cool off. They provide a fan in the room and a mosquito net above your bed. Their food is good. Most guides speak Spanish and English. Boat rides were fun and the activities were plenty. Good time had by our family!

Amazing experience
We had an amazing time at the Paradise lodge with our local tour guide from Puerto Maldonado, Borris.
He made the trip extra special for us with his patience, care and knowledge of the jungle, the experience was so much more than we imagined.
All of the activities/ trips was great, the lodge was so clean and with lots of friendly staff, we was super looked after there. We had lovely food everyday where they served us big portions daily to keep us fuelled.
Thank you to all the team at Paradise. From the office staff, to everyone at the lodge, and our tour guide Borris :) we highly recommended this.

Excellent experience in the jungle
Our guide Ciro was amazing. He and our driver Daniel were great bird finders and stopped along our drive to show us when they spotted something. The night walk with Ciro was an incredible experience. He is a very knowledgeable naturalist and a good host. We felt very comfortable with him leading the way. The food was really well done, especially considering we were in the middle of nowhere. The planning and preparation to make sure everything ran smoothly was impressive.

The perfect Amazon adventure!
This trip was amazing - so much fun! Our guide, Manuel, was awesome. He was full of information, very funny, and we loved every outing. Our boat driver, Kenny, was also great and had quite the eye for spotting sloths up in the trees! The food was great, as was all the support staff. The pace of activities was perfect with enough downtime to enjoy the pool or just watch the world go by overlooking the Amazon. It greatly exceeded every expectation and was the highlight of the entire trip all across Peru.
We did have some concerns going into it that all proved to be unfounded. The website says there will only be certain hours with power, but power and strong WiFi were available 24/7. Plenty of drinking water, with water coolers all around for re-filling bottles. Website also said 10 kg of luggage max, which was a concern as we had 2 week’s worth of stuff, including warm clothes for the Andes. We were able to leave a couple bags at our hotel in Iquitos, but it really wasn’t that big of deal. You can bring a backpack with you to fit under the boat seat, and your other luggage went in a different boat. Nothing got weighed or anything like that - I’d say just be reasonable and don’t bring too much. Website also says to wear long pants and long sleeves, which we did the first day and nearly burned up in the heat, while the guides were all wearing t-shirts. The rest of the trip, we just wore shorts and t-shirts along with some bug spray, and we were fine. We never really even saw mosquitos or had any problems with bugs - maybe just the bug spray working. There are some reeds along the jungle walk that can slice bare skin, but we were just careful to avoid - no issues with shorts and t-shirts, but one should probably have something long just in case. So again, all our concerns ended up being non-issues. Everything was great, well organized, and we had a wonderful time. It was like being at camp - you meet other guests, gather for meals in the dining hall, etc. The accommodations are nice and comfortable. With the screens and the ceiling fan, we all slept great (we were awoken early one morning by a monkey fight just outside the back screened porch, but that’s the jungle for you!). Enjoy - you will not be disappointed.
