The whole day trip was amazing. Diego was a great tour guide who was very informative and personable. Met great people along the way, now I have people to visit around the world. The highlight of the day is the sandboarding and speed dune buggy. With breathtaking views and your adrenaline rushing as you slide down the steep hills, you realize that waking up at 6am to meet up at the bus at 6:45 was all worth it. Definitely would recommend to anyone traveling to Peru looking for a day adventure. 10/10!

What an amazing day, so many experiences! Our guide Pablo was amazing, so friendly and kind natured even after a very long day working for him! Started off on a comfortable bus with reclining seats for our drive to Paracas, all aboard a boat and we saw a baby humpback whale jumping, dolphins, sea lions and lots of different birds, great experience, then to a lovely lunch, definitely enough choice available for everyone and then the pisco tasting (delicious!) back onto the air conditioned bus to huacachina and definitely didn’t expect to be so so amazed by this. Definitely upgrade to the dune buggy rides, there’s some reviews to say they are “not safe” but I definitely felt very safe, you are strapped in very well and have helmets secured on. This experience and seeing the dessert from the buggy rides was definitely a big highlight from our whole trip!! We had people from all ages in the group taking part too! Definitely an unforgettable day all around and would recommend it to everyone. Seems like a long day but completely worth every second!

This trip covers two completely different activities. A 2 hour boat cruise and 2 hours in the desert. The trip has a very early start 5:30am and a 8-9 hour round trip by bus. During the boat cruise to the Ballestas Island we saw the candlebra on the mountain and a couple of sea birds. However we were not so lucky to spot penguins, sea lions and seals due to El Nino effect which had warmed the waters causing the fish to disappear and the animals that depend on the fish
We then stopped for lunch at a Vineyard and had a chance to sample different types pisco sours.
The last stop was the Oasis of Huacachina where we got to ride 50m dunes in a buggy finishing off with viewing the sunset from the top of the dunes and some more pisco sour. The only disappointment was we could go down the sand dunes on a board just once during the 2 hour trip. Most of the 2 hours were spent riding the dunes on the buggy. The tour ended back at Lima around 1130pm. So be prepared for a very long day. The guide Luis was bi lingual explaining in English and Spanish.
I would recommend visiting the Oasis of Huacachina if you have never done dune bashing in Dubai or any other desert place. Ballestas Islands would have been interesting if it was nor for changing weather patterns.
All in all a enjoyable but very long day.

If you’re expecting a “premium” experience, this tour isn’t for you. Big bus, packed of people (about 50 or so)… nevertheless, Pablo (our tour guide) and Wenseslao (our driver) made it so enjoyable and well coordinated that my teenager daughter and me, that we forgot the crowd.

Better avoid the buggies; in our group there was a serious accident that happened with the buggies in Huacachina oasis. People were seriously injured. The buggies are dangerous, the drivers of the buggies are reckless. Regarding the remaining tour, everything else was well organized and the boat tour is amazing. One star only for the buggy activity that resulted in an accident.

Pablo and driver Alito were amazing keeping us all together and safe! Pablo’s enthusiasm was perfect for a long travel day. Bus could have been a bit more comfortable with cooler air and windows that don’t rattle. Curtain in the crakes helped. Pablo also did fantastic job with having food ready through app ordering.
Felt a bit rushed though the day when off bus. Would have liked to be able to stroll more.
*Be prepared to walk uphill and in sand when bus can’t enter dunes.

Genuinely probably the best experience of our life, shoutout to Pablo for making this experience so memorable. We were on a comfortable bus, took a boat ride tour to see sea lions & penguins, did pisco tasting and lunch at a winery, then did an optional sand bugging & boarding. It was set up in a way that we were able to meet and connect with other people. The sand bugging was quite the thrill, so if you like roller coasters, I highly recommend. Thank you Pablo for keeping the energy high no matter the circumstances. We sincerely appreciated you!!

I had an absolutely incredible time on the Day Tour to Paracas, Huacachina, and the Pisco Vineyard, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Pablo! Despite the early 5:00 AM start at the El Pardo Hilton pickup, Pablo brought amazing energy and kept the group engaged all day. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the region and made sure everything ran smoothly. Watching the sunset over the desert dunes at the end of the day was the perfect highlight. Highly recommend this tour, and definitely ask for Pablo

The sand dunes ride for my group ended in near death incident and something I will never unsee. The dune buggy’s are unregulated and I witnessed a travelers arm completed severed due to an accident. The “Professional” drivers did not attempt to provide any sort of medical care and if it was not for fellow riders the women would have died. There were multiple others with injuries as well, I wish I would have done a more in depth Google search prior to booking this, this is a common occurrence.

It is so sad that you witnessed an accident but for accuracy for the readers, the injured traveler was not an Escape from Lima passenger and was travelling in a separate buggy. We are deeply sorry that you witnessed such a traumatic incident and we hope the passenger is ok. It needs to be stated that No Escape from Lima passenger was in the buggy that crashed.
Nevertheless, we fully understand that witnessing the accident was extremely distressing, and we recommend all people choose carefully before picking the tour company they plan to travel with.

It was a wonderful full-day trip from Lima to Paracas and Huacachina. Although it was a very early pick-up, thankfully, I was able to manage, and the drop-off at my hotel was very late too, at 11:00 PM. Nonetheless, the experience and fun were absolutely amazing.
On a side note, I just felt frustrated because there are extra fees that I have to pay on top of what I paid: USD 10 for the tax and USD 20 for the other activities, making it a total of USD for this whole-day activity.

This was such an awesome trip and was well paced/planned. Didnt feel rushed at any locaiton.
Id give this 5 stars but I was disappointed that we didnt actually sandboard, it was more sand sledding. I think this tour should be specific and make that clear that you dont actually get to board normally but ride down on your stomach. Still fun but was looking forward to actually boarding and as a snowboarder I was dissapointed

The start of this excursion I wasn’t sure what to expect and if it was worth it. Well …. It was a great day. The boat ride out to the protected islands to see sea lions, penguins and many other birds was a great photo opportunity. Lunch was fun with dancers and wine tasting is an entertaining way. The sand dunes was sooooo much fun. Do it. I wouldn’t do the dune buggies for two hours. The 1 hour session is enough to descend down a lot of steep hills and stop and sand board. This gives you the second hour to walk thru the oasis. You can still enjoy the sun set walking on your own on the dunes or at the oasis.

I had an amazing experience on the Huacachina full-day tour! Everything was well organized from start to finish, and the itinerary was the perfect mix of adventure and sightseeing. Huacachina itself is absolutely breathtaking! it’s hard to believe such a beautiful oasis exists in the middle of the desert.
The dune buggy ride was thrilling, and sandboarding down the massive dunes was an unforgettable experience. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone felt safe while still having a great time. Transportation was comfortable, and everything ran on schedule.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Peru. Whether you’re traveling solo, with friends, or with family, it’s an experience you won’t forget. Definitely one of the highlights of my trip!

I don’t really know how to rate this experience - I have very mixed feelings about it. It was a LONG day and logistical nightmare. I chose the option to meet at a pick up point at 5:30AM, but the bus was 15-20 mins late because it was going around picking up other people who chose the option to do hotel pick up. I feel like if they had cars or vans go around and bring people to the bus at the main pick up point would’ve been a lot smoother. When we got on the bus, apparently there were people who were staying at different locations on stops along the way, which made it super confusing and multiple different tour companies were on one bus. Thankfully, I was going to stay on this bus because I was returning to Lima and I didn’t have to deal with the craziness of switching buses at a certain stop. The boat ride at the first stop was fine, but it wasn’t anything extraordinary. Then we found out our bus broke down so the guide was looking for a replacement bus and we were stuck in Paracas for 1.5 hours. They found a replacement bus for us and we were on our way to a Pisco tasting, which felt kinda weird at how they included it in the schedule. Cause then we were headed to Huacachina for the dune buggies. But because we were late due to the bus breaking down, we didn’t have time to explore the oasis when it was light out. The dune buggies were obviously the highlight of the day. I did not participate in sand boarding because you’re really laying on your stomach and sliding down a hill. I didn’t originally select this option and when I reached out to the company rep whether I could pay by card, they had no idea what I was asking. Come to find out, the guides give you the option to pay for the dune buggies on the bus if you did not pay for the premium option ahead of time and it was $20 USD, which you can pay by cash or they will send you a link to pay by card. After the buggies, we headed back and there were more new people joining the bus. There was no plan to stop for dinner so we just picked up some empanadas at a shop next to the departure point. The company tried to make it up to us with the delay and the broken down bus by letting us taste a “premium” pisco at the pisco tasting, but I thought it was weird because what if people didn’t like pisco or didn’t drink? Felt like it was a cop out. We got back to Lima at 11PM and it was a long day. I don’t think the guides were at fault but I think the company can definitely plan better and not keep people moving around. There were too many people, it was too confusing and the highlights did not make up for the issues. I probably recommend you tour with a different company, but just remember that they kind of all work together if you wanna do this tour.

This was an excellent tour! There was so much packed into a single day. We saw penguins, sea lions, hundreds of exotic birds, had a boat ride, had an Pisco tasting, and then went to the desert to ride on crazy dune buggies and go sand boarding. It was awesome! Our guides, Pablo and Juan, were very attentive and informative as well. 5 stars!

We had an amazing day tour to Huacachina! Everything was seamless from the start with hotel pickup right on time. Our guide, Diego, was wonderful—friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly accommodating throughout the entire trip. He shared so much interesting information and made sure everyone had a great experience.
Even though it was a full-day tour, it was so well organized and enjoyable that we never felt exhausted. Every stop was worth it, and the experience was unforgettable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Peru!

This tour is amazing and follows the described itinerary very closely. However, as other reviews note, it is a very long day, so just know that going into it! Our guide, Marjorie, was incredibly kind and did a great job keeping us informed throughout the day.
My biggest complaint is that the Viator listing needs to better explain what is and is not included in the price. For example, the listing states pretty clearly that taxes are included; however, once we were on the bus, we were told they weren't and had to pay an additional $7 USD per person. We were also asked to pay an extra $10 per person to upgrade our tour to include the 2-hour dune buggy and sandboarding experience in Huacachina.
The tour operators really need to improve their verbiage to clearly highlight these extra costs. Leaving them out risks catching people off guard and getting poor ratings on what is otherwise a wonderful tour.

The activities were excellent and Diego was a great guide. However, we paid for drop off only to later be told our hotel was not a central point and were left somewhere unknown to us. So, while it was amazing, that part is discouraging.

Tour was excellent. Juancho was an excellent guide. Very well informed and had a ton of charisma. While it's a long day, it's absolutely worth it and despite being 18ish hours, it flew by very quickly.

This tour is a great way to experience the beautiful Huacachina oasis and the Islas Ballestas from Lima in one day. Since both are relatively small sites themselves, doing both in a single day trip from Lima makes sense. I especially enjoyed the dune buggy at Huacachina, which was exciting to ride in. The location serving lunch was also great.
