- It is really important to advise any specific dietary restrictions at time of booking (vegetarian, vegan, gluten, allergies, etc.), otherwise we cannot assure to adapt the menu the day of the tour.
- Vegetarian and vegan options are limited in Peru. If you expect a balanced menu protein wise, please do not book. There won't be tofu nor lentils, and eggs are not widely used in preparations.
- Please note guides will not be providing their service in multiple languages simultaneously. Make sure you book the right tour/language
- Pick up and drop off not included. Private tours with transportation available on the Exquisito Perú website.
- We won't wait for latecomers more than 5 mins past the tour start time.
- If you have a severe nuts allergy, please do not book this tour, as cross contamination can happen with certain foods included in the tour.

I booked this food tour for the final night of the trip with my Dad. It just ended up being the two of us but Aura was a great guide and all of the stops in Barranco were delicious and had a good vibe. Definitely left feeling full!

It was our first day in Peru and we started it off with a good food tour! Paolo was great at explaining about the city, culture, foods, etc. If you’re in Lima and looking for an activity and love to eat, it’s a must do!

Great experience with David (our guide)! He was super engaging and informative. Come hungry because you will be eating a lot. We stopped at 6 different places and tried a bunch of different things. Definitely recommend!

What a spectacular four hours. Aura was so friendly and full of information. The servings were large and varied. The establishments were clean and all had different vibes. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had.

Our tour guide, Paola, was fantastic. Super knowledgeable about the food, the history and neighborhood. The food was awesome and a ton of it. Even included private cooking demonstration by the owner of one of the restaurants.

Aura was fantastic! We meet on time
And after intros we ventured to our first stop which had s total of six stop.
1 - empanadas and cafecito. The empanada was incredible. Savory with a hint of sweet and the chicken filling was delicious. The coffee was perfection black. The spot, Luna Neuva, was so beautiful. A house turned coffee shop. So quaint with lots of little corners to duck into.
2 - fruit samples. We had passion fruit, bread fruit (so delicious and sweet), gooseberries, a tomato fruit (cant remember the name) and a few others then played a cute game to see id we could decipher if we could get the notes and we did! Aira said very few get it right so consider this a challenge!
Its also a a co-op space with other artisans so we purchased chocolate, a beautiful lapel pin and a handmade figurine to represent flourishing.
3 - we had ceviche made in front of us with pickled pear juice. It was SOOOOOOO GOOD. I’d go back just for that. Wowwww!
4 - lomo saltado @ Nuna(?) and made in front of you! He calls his spot a laboratory and Hugo is so extremely passionate about his craft.
The final two stops - one was a quaint and historic spot that had sandwiches and amazing pisco sours (semi-secco me please!) and a gelato spot. I wish I remembered the name of it. I enjoyed the cinnamon and straciatella but the salted caramel was insaneeeee!
All in all, I can ot recommend this food tour enough. We strolled, laughed, took lots of photos and even played the punch buggy game. Aura again is an absolute GEM!

We really enjoyed this food tour! Marcos did a great job leading the tour and connecting with us as travelers. No issues with the meeting point — it was exactly where indicated. So many tastes and restaurants we wouldn’t have found on our own. Empanadas, coffee, unique DELICIOUS fruits, Peruvian chocolate and cacao tea, causa, ceviche, passion fruit mocktail, anticucho and choclo, lomo saltado, Inca Kola, pisco sour, and gelato. Yum! Highlights were different for each member of the group, but my top 3 tastes were the ceviche, the empanada and the unique fruits. We also enjoyed the history shared. Highly recommend this tour if you enjoy trying local food.

We LOVED this experience! It far exceeded our expectations, from getting to learn about the fruit and tasting it, watching a chef cook and then getting to try it, and learning about how to make ceviche and Pisco Sours, this tour did not disappoint. Valeria answered all our questions, we had more than enough food, and it was so fun to walk around Barranco!

Need to ask for an address and what the guide will be wearing. We walked around for an hour and ended up missing the whole tour by a couple minutes because there was nothing standing out in the park to make us find the person we were supposed to find and no address was provided for the park.

We had a fantastic time on this food tour in Lima. Our guide, Valeria, was incredibly knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights into Peruvian history and culture throughout the tour. We really enjoyed the small group setting, which made the experience feel personal and relaxed. The variety of food was excellent, and every stop offered something delicious. Our highlight was the ceviche, which was prepared fresh in front of us and customized to our preferred level of spice. We left feeling very full and having learned so much. One of the best food tours we’ve ever done—highly recommended!

The food tour was really good. Interesting information about the food and the city. The places we went to taste the food were interesting and fun. Our tour guide, Valeria, was excellent. Very personable, knowledgeable, attentive, organized, and spoke English very well. Our group was fun also. My husband and I had a difficult time getting to the meeting point in time because of a marathon that was on in our hotel area, so Valeria and the company communicated with us to keep in touch as to when we would arrive. We were going to be late so the company gave us the second stop address to meet the group and that worked out well. We were very glad not to miss this great experience!
