- It is really important to advise any specific dietary restrictions at time of booking (vegetarian, vegan, gluten, allergies, etc.), otherwise we cannot assure to adapt the menu the day of the tour.
- Vegetarian and vegan options are limited in Peru. If you expect a balanced menu protein wise, please do not book. There won't be tofu nor lentils, and eggs are not widely used in preparations.
- Please note guides will not be providing their service in multiple languages simultaneously. Make sure you book the right tour/language
- Pick up and drop off not included. Private tours with transportation available on the Exquisito Perú website.
- We won't wait for latecomers more than 5 mins past the tour start time.

This is a great tour. Not only are you trying many local dishes but the tour guide also teaches you about Peruvian culture and gives a lot of background and history into everything you try. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone coming to Peru!

We have just returned from a really excellent food tour with Marcos as our guide. As well as tasting different dishes we also had two demonstrations of how to cook certain Peruvian dishes. Marcos has excellent English & really helped us understand the history behind the type of food we were eating. It was such a fun evening. Thank you Marcos both for the tour & making sure we found a ride home after the tour!!

Our experience on the Viator Ultimate Lima Food Tour in Barranco was easily one of the highlights of our trip to Peru!
Our guide, Valeria, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating throughout the entire tour. Her deep understanding of Peruvian food history and local culture made every single stop meaningful and fun.
The food line-up was fantastic from start to finish:
Fresh Ceviche & Lomo Saltado: The ceviche demonstration was completely unique and engaging, giving us a firsthand look at how Peru's iconic dish is prepared. The lomo saltado was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection with rich, authentic flavors.
Fruit & Chocolate Tasting: Sampling the wide variety of exotic native fruits and rich Peruvian chocolates was a wonderful sensory experience that highlighted the country's incredible biodiversity.
Pisco at Bar Juanito: Stopping at the historic Bar Juanito to taste authentic Pisco was the perfect way to soak in the bohemian atmosphere of Barranco.
Valeria went above and beyond to make sure everyone in our group was comfortable, engaged, and well-fed. If you are visiting Lima, this tour is an absolute must-do—make sure to ask for Valeria!

There is a fair amount of walking but all manageable. Come hungry! It’s a great food tour with lots of variety! The Barranco area is our new favorite in Lima! Marco was a knowledgeable and fun guide!

This was a great way to experience a guided variety of Peruvian cuisine in a great part of the city. Our knowledgeable guide Sheila took us on a well curated tour of Barranco and classic Peruvian dishes. You will not go hungry, and the food is well prepared and delicious. We had a enjoyable time with our fellow travelers and came away with an appreciation of the food of Peru.

this food tour was incredible. my guide, ms. paola was absolutely spectacular. we visited a number of establishments and tried a very good variety of dishes. there were no additional charges or fees or even wait times, you simply walk to the restaurants to be greeted and served right away. i went with a good sized group of about 8 and we were all accommodated and tended to. the tour didn't feel too long or too short and the evening option is perfect to end off your night. all in all, i recommend this tour to everyone who wants to try new foods, experience a number of dishes and restaurants with an expert, and spend time with nice people in interesting locations. and again, ms. paola was the best guide!

Paola our guide was informative , friendly and really helpful
Only one small thing : the tour couldn’t make accommodation when I asked to change my dietary preference to chicken when we reached the venue for the main meal
That resulted in my wife and I missing the main meal as we weren't inclined to eat Cows Heart
I do accept that I should have stated my preference in the first place however the venue team should have picked up on this and been a bit conciliatory
Other than that it was a really great night and not to be missed

We take dietary restrictions and preferences very seriously, which is why we ask guests several times before the tour to let us know about any dietary requirements. This information is also clearly indicated throughout the booking process on our reservation platforms, as it allows us to coordinate the necessary alternatives with our restaurant partners in advance.
Unfortunately, making last-minute changes once the tour is already underway can sometimes be difficult for the restaurants, especially considering the volume of guests they serve and the preparation required for each dish. That being said, we appreciate your feedback, as we always want our guests to enjoy every part of the experience.

Hands down, one of the best tours we have taken. Delicious food + culture + libations. We had a yummy breakfast, ate delicious ceviche, learned about and tasted unique tropical fruit, had a wonderful cooking demonstration, followed by lunch in a historic mansion. The day ended with learning how to make pisco sours in a famous vintage Lima bar on the town square.

The walking food tour through Barranco led by Aura was fantastic! Yes the food was delicious. yes we had wonderful group dynamics. Mostly Aura share knowledge and insight. She also engaged well with the group and individuals. She kept the itinerary on travk without any of us ever feeling rushed. It was a joyful 4 hours. Highly recommend Aura and Exquisito Peru!!

This is a great way to taste many authentic Peruvian dishes. You have six stops to taste a variety of dishes from the fresh fruit to lomo saltada and learn how they are prepped. I also learned a lot about the Barranco area.

Seriously good value! A calm and interesting exploration of local cuisine. The guide I had was Marcos and he was well trained and knowledgeable about many topics including local art and history. Highly recommend!

Markus was very knowledgeable. Enjoyed all the good tastings. It was varied and gave a great introduction to Peruvian food. My favorite was the stir fry and orusvo sour.

This food tour is a great way to see part of a Barranco and sample some great food! Sheila was a wonderful guide. Sweet, easy to talk to and showed genuine interest. Thank you Sheila! Chef Hugo's demonstration of how to cook Lomo Saltado was very engaging, not to mention the results being delicious. You get to sample Peruvian fruits and chocolate, as well as coffee, gelato and the famed Pisco Sour. Of course, food is not cheap but for the price you will eat well as well as enjoy a pleasant and informed stroll through the town. Recommend for any foodies in Lima.

I booked this food tour for the final night of the trip with my Dad. It just ended up being the two of us but Aura was a great guide and all of the stops in Barranco were delicious and had a good vibe. Definitely left feeling full!

It was our first day in Peru and we started it off with a good food tour! Paolo was great at explaining about the city, culture, foods, etc. If you’re in Lima and looking for an activity and love to eat, it’s a must do!
