Great tour and guide

Sophie was a wonderful guide. Gave us a great deal of detail and history and there was enough time to explore and rest or have free time. Picked us up right outside out hotel and it was a beautiful drive there. A lot of the visit was not what I expected and I likely should have checked for holidays but it was extremely busy. So many people visiting and such narrow walkways. It was exceedingly touristy inside with souvenirs and ice cream every few feet. If you arrive expecting epic congestion you’ll be fine. You can also just admire it from the outside. Many do.

A day in Bayeux

Our guide Emanuel picked my husband and I up at our hotel. We were able to see Gold and Juno beaches, tour the museum, enjoy a seafood lunch and pay respects to the many young men who gave their lives to fight for our freedom and rights. Emanuel was very knowledgeable about the history of WWII. I give five stars to Emanuel and the tour he provided.

Fantastic tour of Omaha Beach, American Cemetery, & Pointe du Hoc. Manon, our guide, provided in depth historical data to give us a clear understanding of D Day and the tremendous sacrifices of the brave men who stormed the beaches. She did further research of my grandfather who died on Omaha Beach and set up a private tour at the cemetery. Breezy tour of WW2 D-Day

Our guide was very knowledgeable with facts and stories at the sites and during the drives. She had a book of photos and charts that added visuals to her words. With lunch this is a 7 hour excursion. Very manageable walking even for us old timers. Lots of driving because it covers Omaha to Utah and back from Bayeux. We were experiencing the extreme heat and dryness near Paris. So it was a surprise that the coast was 70 F, 25mph wind with small rain spells. Our guide handled it expertly by doing storytelling in the car for those of us who didn’t want to brave the elements. She led the way through gales and sand for those who wanted the experience.

If you're planning a trip to Normandy, don't see it any other way than with Normandy Riders. This was, without question, the best tour of our entire trip. Manuel and Jerry were absolutely amazing tour guides. They were incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and passionate about the history, bringing each stop to life in a way that was both meaningful and unforgettable. They also made our entire family, especially our kids, feel completely safe and comfortable throughout the day, allowing us to relax and truly enjoy the experience. Seeing the D-Day sites this way gave us a perspective we never could have experienced on our own. The attention to detail, the personal stories, and the genuine care they showed for our family made this a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Be prepared. It is a steady upward climb toward the top. But well worth the effort. We loved this tour. We learned so much of the history of Mont St Michel. It was a very hot day and lots of people but we could still enjoy the tour. Walking back to visitor center (our choice) was a hot 45 minute ordeal but it was good to see the abbey from the road.

We booked the Omaha Tour for 20th Sept 2025. Pascal our guide from the company Ophorus was outstanding. His knowledge is excellent and passes this on in a very interesting and friendly manner with some humour thrown in.. We were a family of four from the UK.
