Meet your guide at Bayeux train station, Place de Quebec, or your Bayeux hotel, and settle inside your comfortable, air-conditioned minivan with a small group.
Then, drive to the Normandy coast as your guide shares background on the Allied D-Day landings of June 6, 1944. Few people know about the huge sacrifice made by Canadians as they held positions west of Caen and halted counter-attacks by the German 12th SS Panzer division.
While many have seen the movie 'Saving Private Ryan,' most don’t know the number of Canadian soldiers buried in Normandy as a result of the two months of fighting that occurred here during the summer of 1944.
Stop at Juno Beach, where Canadian assault troops first stormed ashore in the face of fierce attacks from German strongholds. The Canadians suffered the second-highest number of casualties here, with the Americans losing the most at Omaha Beach.
Hear how the soldiers swept through heavy machine gun fire, and visit different sections of the sands from St. Aubin sur Mer to Graye sur Mer, where the 3rd infantry division landed.
Next, visit the Juno Beach Centre, a museum dedicated to the 45,000 Canadians who lost their lives in the war, including the 359 on D-Day, and 5,500 during the Battle for Normandy. Chart the story of these Canadians through the photos, archives, first-hand accounts, and artifacts, and see the excavated German bunkers on the beach.
Pay your respects at the Canadian War Cemetery and then track the route of the 9th Brigade advance on June 7 to the Abbey d'Ardenne and the capture of Carpiquet.

This tour was a comprehensive tour of a variety of aspects of the Canadians' activities in Normandy. A lots of stops were packed into one day - there was a perfect mix of our tour guide telling us about a monument or location with time to visit most stops in an appropriate amount of time. The tour guide, Helene, was friendly, knowledgeable, a good driver. She was an excellent tour guide. If you want to go to the Juno Beach centre and hit the highlights, this was a good tour. I had gone a few days before and spent 4 hours at the Centre so this stop allowed me to cover some things I missed or wanted to see again.
The tour and guide were excellent. Visited many sites and learned a great deal of information. Guide was very personable, and did his best to ensure we had a great day. Assisted us with ordering lunch. Well organized. Our guide was excellent, 10/10. Consistently helpful. The only drawback for the event was that it was scheduled as an English tour and we had three guests ( 2 probably understood English) and he repeated everything in French. They signed up for an English tour so they should have had basic English with key information in French. Friends could have assisted. It was exhausting on the head as there was a lot of information shared and he repeated everything in French. This caused us to take longer at each stop and delayed us 1.5 hours. With so much heavy information a bit of silence would have been appreciated. It also prevented us from learning about the guide and the opportunity to share stories with some lighter moments about the area. All business all the time. 🤦♀️ He made a joke the only time he speaks French is in regards to traffic. 😉. But not today. The eighth seat is uncomfortable. Should max at 7 persons.
Terrific day if you are Canadian or interested in Canada’s role in the D-Day invasion and subsequent battle of Normandy. Very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide and a small group of only 6 people.
Excellent way of learning the involvement of Canada in WW2. The full day experience was full of detail, anecdotes and history. Seeing Canada house was a dream come true.
Our tour guide took us to the Canadian D-day landing site then followed many other sites the Canadians fought and liberated in the month that followed as well as the Canadian Cemetery. The narrative was very good. The van was comfortable and lunch break appreciated as it is a long day with so much information to absorb. Questions before the tour began were responded to quickly.

Our guide ( Faustan) was absolutely amazing ! His knowledge of the history and specifics of the Canadian specifics relating to WW2 was exceptional. He brought all the stops we went to alive with his narrative and the pictures he had to share with us. There were only 8 of us on this specific tour and it was a perfect number. We were with our friends and the other 2 couples were also travelling together so it was a perfect group. Faustian also had a great sense of humour! The place we stopped for lunch was great- fast service, reasonably priced, clean and good quality.
I would highly recommend Aviator tours and if you can get Faustian as your guide that would be a bonus. 10/10

We met our tour guide (Jeremy) and our small group at Bayeux train station at 8:30 am. He drove us around the Juno Beach area, explaining the background of D-day, and then how the operation unfolded. He showed us many of the relevant sites of the Canadian landing, including a visit to the Juno beachfront, a visit to the Juno Beach Centre (which included a tour of 2 excavated bunkers, done by Centre staff), and visits to Canada House, to the Canadian cemetery at Beny-sur-Mer, and to Ardenne Abbey, where Canadian POWs were executed by the SS. We ended the day with a visit to Arromanches, to see the remains of Mulberry Harbour, which Jeremy very kindly included in our itinernary. We had a fantastic visit, and were impressed by our extremely knowledgeable, affable guide. I highly recommend it.

Our guide Emanuel picked my husband and I up at our hotel. We were able to see Gold and Juno beaches, tour the museum, enjoy a seafood lunch and pay respects to the many young men who gave their lives to fight for our freedom and rights. Emanuel was very knowledgeable about the history of WWII. I give five stars to Emanuel and the tour he provided.
The tour provided a great amount of information on the events of D-Day and the remainder of the Normandy campaign from a Canadian perspective.
Excellent & moving tour especially as it was the day after the anniversary of D day. Every Canadian should visit & see the sacrifices our young men made. A slight problem with confused message on pickup location but all worked out.
I can’t recommend this tour enough…it’s a must see if you are interested in D-Day history. Our guide was very knowledgeable and a wonderful companion for the day. All of us learned so much while enjoying ourselves.

Great tour of the Canadian WW2 landing sites in Normandy. Our guide Stefan was very knowledgeable and thorough, arrived on time, the lunch spot he chose was excellent, vehicle was great — he answered all of our questions and provided albums of photos with many interesting details about the Allied Landing from June 6th 1944 on to the end of the war. We visited a number of sites including the Juno Center and bunkers, Gold Beach, Abbaye d’Ardenne, Commonwealth Canadian Cemetery. Highly recommend this excursion to those especially interested in the incredible efforts and sacrifice of the Canadian soldiers of WW2.

moving informative thorough and very well done. Stefan our tour guide was outstanding. full day but every part of it was important and detailed.
We are very very distressed that we paid £235 for a private tour only to find that six other people were on the same minibus. Very disappointing and we demand a refund please. Not exceptional in any way the guide was less than informed and knowledgeable rely on pictures from her book and information that frankly I knew more than her. The guide picked us up at our hotel pretty much on time by the time she had collected the remaining three couples all at different hotels we were obviously running late. We arrived late for every event that we’ve been that we were scheduled to see including a service at the Canadian beach and frankly the tour guide was appeared certainly currently flustered and I’m not quite sure whether or not really appeared that she had actually lost away during the driving across to Juno Beach from Bay all in all it was very unsatisfactory and a complete contrast to the second tour we did on the Monday the 8th Omaha Beach and Utah Beach the American D-Day private tour booking reference 1378888513, which was the eighth where we were picked up on time by a very important guide. It was a private tour just the two of us and the tour operator driver his knowledge was encyclopedic. His presentation was good. He asked us what we would like to see for the most part kept to that schedule. He made very good suggestions as it would be a good idea to see and I think probably all in all over the 7 1/2 eight hours we were with him we probably went to must’ve been seven maybe even eight different areas and each time I hit you fast about vast amount about it and impacted the information very clearly his English was good and over and about that he was a personal personal lad spoke very good English so And Ann finally that was something in the region of £130 as opposed to the previous was £235 so we paid very very much less for a fast superior tour. I think that he is to be congratulated but our first tour guide is to be castigated as simple as that.

We strongly dispute several of the statements made in this review.
Your central complaint is that you allegedly paid for a private tour and were surprised to find other guests in the vehicle. This statement is simply false.
The tour you booked was a shared small-group tour, as clearly described at the time of booking. Furthermore, the day before the tour on June 5th, you contacted our booking department and received the following written confirmation: "The tour you have booked is a shared tour, with a maximum of 8 clients + the guide inside the van."
You therefore had explicit written confirmation that this was not a private tour before the excursion took place. Claiming otherwise in a public review is misleading.
For clarity, our private Canadian Battlefields tour is a completely different product, priced at approximately €800. The £235 you paid bears no resemblance to the cost of a private tour and corresponds to a shared excursion.
Your comments regarding the schedule are equally unfair. Before departure, all participants received written notice explaining that June 6th commemorations would create exceptional traffic conditions, access restrictions, and possible delays. You were specifically informed that schedules might not be maintained exactly as planned due to the extraordinary number of visitors in Normandy during this period.
Despite these circumstances, the tour operated and the guide did everything possible to adapt to conditions beyond anyone's control.
We also reject the personal attacks directed at our guide. Our guides are trained professionals with extensive experience leading Normandy battlefield tours. Disagreeing with a guide's presentation style is one thing; portraying them as incompetent without factual basis is quite another.
Finally, comparing a shared commemorative tour operated on June 6th with a private tour operated on a different day, under entirely different conditions, is not a meaningful comparison.
We welcome honest feedback, but we cannot accept a refund request based on claims that are directly contradicted by the written communications sent to you before the tour.
The tour was delivered exactly as booked, and your request for a refund is therefore unfounded.
This was a lovely and very humbling experience. Helen our guide is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the topic. We had our tour during a massive heat wave with 30+ degree weather and Helen made sure we were doing okay and stopped for water and drinks and even provided us with umbrellas. I would recommend this tour

If you are Canadian this tour is a must, totally focused on the Canadian experience of the Battle of Normandy. It is a fairly long day with a fair amount of driving but worthwhile.
It is tough to see the graves and the ages of the combatants. I could have used more time in the museum to absorb all the information.
It lasted from 8:30 to 6:00. Most of the tour was outdoors and was active. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and interesting.
If you are Canadian this gives some reality to what the men experienced and the hardships the french and other countries had to endiure at the hands of the Germans. The amount of infrastructure put in place by the Germans was unbelievable as was the scale of the Juno beach assault. Highly recommend Stephane to interpret the events and bring them to life.
Emanuel deserves our praise and appreciation! He gave us the most impressive tour today. We were a group , comprised of 3 couples. He was very interactive with all of us , we learned so much from him. It is easy to understand his feelings about this tour . This is not just a job to Emanuel, it is a passion!
We were never rushed, nor was more time than was required given to each and every stop. Emanuel is engaging and inspiring. For this we thank him for giving us such a great day.
