Great experience for the family. Tour guide/driver was friendly and provided history of the areas leading to and from Mont Saint Michel, as well as Mont Saint Michel itself. She went with us on the shuttle and walked us in, providing suggestions and recommendations along the way. Her restaurant suggestion, Le Tripot, was outstanding!

We had a very pleasant experience taking this shuttle service from Bayeux to Mont St Michel. Our driver was friendly and informative in preparing us to navigate the shuttle service, village, and abbey. The ride was comfortable in a late model van, and we had great conversation with the driver and other passengers. I would recommend this one to my friends.

Amazing guide and tour

Our guide was amazing and knowledgeable and friendly. She knew so much about everything and we enjoyed the drive there and back along with out tour on our own! Especially loved the extra stop to snap an amazing pic of the sheep with Mont Sant Michel in the background! Just an amazing day all around!!!

Camille was so nice. All the way there he gave us great information about the countryside and the town’s history. He was friendly and very educated on every topic. In case you are wondering the tour guide drives you to MSM gets you in then leaves. You are allowed to see it at your pleasure and then you meet back with the tour guide at a certain time. Putting this in because we wondered about that before we took the tour. You will have plenty of time to see what you need to see and get a great meal. FYI- this tour is not a good for anyone who is out of shape or disabled. There are 300 steps you will have to climb too the top of the abbey. Some of the stairs are steep, and very hard at times to climb. Just remember this before you go..

The ride out was rough because the driver had perfume on so my stomach was upset and I got a headache. By the way back was ok. The shuttle ride out and town was crowded. Very narrow streets lots of people and tons of steps!! Beautiful views from the top. Noone checked tickets until the church. I got seagull poop all over my sleeves. Restaurants poor and overpriced as are shops. Too commercialized. All museums inside wanted more $ ...surprised me that all had charges. Beautiful place but too many people.

A trip outside Bayuex

We were the only couple on the van ride. It was great to converse with the driver. What a structure this is. A lot of steps to climb up so be prepared. The worst part of the trip was the food we got for lunch. I got basicslly s bread sandwich that was supposed to have chicken. I will consider it a donation to the site.

Wonderful trip. Robin was an excellent driver. Gave a nice history of the Mont on our way. Tickets to the Abby were included. We were very pleased to not need a guide for the Abby. It was great to be able to visit the Abby and village on our own time table. We had an eight am meeting/departure. Arrived around 9:30. We’re in the Mont around 10. Did not have to leave until 1:45. Plenty of time to visit and get lunch. Back in Bayeux by 3:30.

Rosemarine was our tour guide. Great personality and lots of fun. We traveled through the French countryside as well as the highway and was safe and sound both ways. Timing was just right to tour the Abbey, lunch, and hit a couple of souvenir stores. I am an American living in Normandy and I took the tour to recommend to my friends who visit. Highly recommended as I could sit back and enjoy the trip with my friend.

Pick up point in Bayeux was easy to find! The driver was great and gave us some historical information along the way. Time spent at the site was perfect, lots of time to see everything, have lunch and walk back to the parking lot (or you can take the shuttle)

Be prepared to walk up several flights of stairs. 4 hours is sufficient time to explore Mont St Michel. Go early to avoid the crowds. If you have sufficient time, the walk back to the visitors center is enjoyable, about 2 miles.

Ride was great. Margaux was great and had excellent tips for a more enjoyable day. I don’t know about other times of the year, but August is a bit chaotic. It’s a great place to practice your patience! But the chaos was minor compared to the beauty and history. Would go again… even in August.

Too popular?

Wonderful UNESCO world heritage site that unfortunately suffers from being too popular with the sightseeing public. The hordes of people detract from the experience. Getting there early and leaving early is an advantage of this tour. Margaux a great driver who helped us catch the shuttle that takes one from the remote parking lot to the base of the entrance at the base of Mont St Michel.

It is basically a ride to Mont St. Michel, not a guided tour but this is what we wanted. Margaux was especially helpful to me because I needed additional assistance. I would say not to go in the summer. Very crowded. But it is beautiful.
