We had a really good tour. Our guide Helene was excellent and took time to inform us and allow questions. She knows a lot about the entire tour content
Really impressive

Fantastic tour for a half day trip from Bayeux. The tour offered plenty of free time at each sight, after a brief summary of the location by our guide.
Anna_M, Apr 2026
It was very informative. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We had a great time. I would recommend this tour.
Anne_B, Apr 2026
It was a day to reflect on all the souls lost and the horrendous nature of that period in time. The guide was very knowledgeable which was a huge plus!
Sharon_D, Apr 2026
Our guide, Rose, was not only knowledgeable but gave us many specific details to bring the Normandy D-Day experience alive and personal. My husband and I had a memorable afternoon!
josephalaethem, Apr 2026
Just ok. Seven guests stuffed in a van without air conditioning. Leader spoke broken English and was difficult to understand. Leader struggled with backing the van up.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the tour overall. The air conditioning had a minor issue, which has now been resolved, and we apologize for the inconvenience. Regarding the experience, a private tour would likely have better matched your expectations, but you had booked a group tour in a nine-seater van. We still hope you had a pleasant experience.

We really enjoyed the tour. Very knowledgeable guide! He took the time to explain the sights & history.

My family had a wonderful experience on this half‑day tour of Normandy. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the region’s history. He provided rich context at every stop, striking a great balance between storytelling and factual detail without ever feeling rushed.
One of the unexpected highlights was a visit to a local cider producer. It wasn’t originally on the itinerary, but when we asked if a cider tasting might be possible, he was happy to accommodate. It ended up being a charming and authentic addition to the day. The tasting was relaxed, delicious, and gave us a real sense of the local culture.
Overall, this tour delivered far more than I expected in just a few hours. Thoughtful guiding and meaningful stops made it a memorable experience. Highly recommend.

The tour is ran well and covers the most important things. However, the tour guide was a bit hard to understand at times and didn’t have the depth of knowledge I was expecting.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the tour’s organization and highlights. We’re sorry the guide wasn’t always clear or as in-depth as expected, and we’ll use your comments to improve. We hope to provide a better experience next time.

Emmanuel was amazing, we enjoyed every minute of our day, he clearly loves history and made the day come alive!

We had a very informative tour of Pointe du Hoc, the American War Cemetery & Omaha's beach. Our guide Manon explained the significance of the place & events associated with the DDay landings in Normandy.
Manon also was kind enough dropped us at the hotel although it was not included in the list of hotels eligible for drop offs.
Overall it was a very memorable tour!!

Excellent introduction to the history and geography of the region. Our guide Adrien was outstanding.
JANE_A, Feb 2026
Adrian, our guide, was very knowledgeable about the many sites and details surrounding the D Day invasion. He told personal stories along with the details.
We were late leaving Rouen so we emailed the company. We received an immediate response saying he would wait for us. We arrived and we then followed him via our car to park for free at the train station. He was very patient and understanding.
Timing our arrival at the cemetery to coincide with the lowering of the flag made the visit especially poignant. To improve he might talk more about the cemetery before we arrived so we could experience it with more quiet time for reflection on the enormity of the locale.

We did half day tour as did not have much time in Normandy . Our guide (sorry can not remember his name ) was friendly and very knowledgable about the beaches . It was a great afternoon . Would def recommend . Driver/guide went above and beyond
As we were the only 2 on tour . He even stopped at the commonwealth war cemetery for us .
Which was a nice extra not on itinerary.
Meggan_J, Nov 2025
I wish that the guide told more of a story instead of just sharing facts. It was nice to hear facts and info about Normandy but when you tell a story, it really brings the story to life.
Response from Host, Nov 2025
Dear Meggan,
Thank you very much for your feedback.
I am glad to hear you enjoyed the information about Normandy. As a guide, sharing accurate facts is an important part of storytelling.
Also, all of our guides have their own personalities and ways of explaining the history of the D'Day beaches. What we ask from them is a deep knowledge of the sites, a good English and a sense of hospitality so that the clients have a good experience and we have no doubt that our guide gave you all of that. We are sorry to hear that her way of explaining was not up to your imagination, the guide wished that during the tour you would have come to her to discuss that.
JoanneS_W, Oct 2025
Well done tour. Guide was very professional and personable and knowledgeable. If you're on the fence, just do it. It's such an important part of history.
Vic_H, Oct 2025
For a truly enjoyable tour I highly recommend our guide "Wally" he did a great job of timing our stops to make the most of our time
Leonard_K, Oct 2025
Excellent information given. Friendly guide and driver. On time. Easy to book and good communication by email
Christopher_C, Oct 2025
Our guide, Dave, was AMAZING. He clearly loves what he does and was a well of knowledge and information. He has an array of supplemental materials that allow for you to really understand what he’s explaining. We were able to see so many things in our half day trip, without it feeling rushed.
Linda_F, Oct 2025
It was an exceptional experience because of our tour guide Emma. Even though it rained on and off, she had umbrellas and ponchos for us and listening to her interesting commentary made us forget about any rain. We’ll have lasting memories about the stories she told about the successes and failures of Omaha Beach..
Brenda_P, Sep 2025
Our guide spoke too fast and with his accent it was very difficult to understand and enjoy. Everyone in our group felt the same. I asked him to slow down and he ignored my request. Also the tour was o e hour less than was advertised. He did not walk with us and update us nor make himself available for questions as we walked. In 20 years of using Viator, this was the most disappointing tour.
Karey_L, Sep 2025
Adrian was extremely knowledgeable, helpful and his English was excellent. He also had a great sense of humor. Would highly recommend him!
Pam_W, Sep 2025
Emma is an amazing guide, who is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the D Day beach area. She gave just the right amount of time at each spot. She communicated extremely well before and during the trip. She is also an excellent driver, so you will feel safe in her van.
Daryl_F, Sep 2025
Fabulous trip and moving to be there at 4 pm for Taps. Our tour director Guillaume was wonderful! Book it!
STEPHEN_L, Sep 2025
Good basic tour. Would have liked the guide to stay with us more , as he is very knowledgeable of Normandie and the June 6, 1944 Allied invasion.
Hilary_K, Aug 2025
Our guide, Wally, was thorough with his explanation and attentive to details. He made sure that everyone could understand the explanation, first in English, then by French, and took care of the elderly in the group. Much appreciated!
Vicki_S, Aug 2025
The tour was very informative and interesting. A very moving experience. Would have like a little more time at each stop.
Todd_M, Aug 2025
We traveled with a small group of 6 total, and went to 2 of the Normandy beaches and the American Cemetary. It was excellent. Our guide was full of so much information and taught us so much. He took time at each site to give us the full story and experience.
Claudia_Z, Aug 2025
The guide was inexperienced and did not have presentation skills. He spoke so soft we could not hear him and didn't increase volume when we said we couldn't hear. He had no command of group and seemed to just recite some facts at each place. No animated stories like we heard from other guides we ended up listening to. I am asking for a refund for the first time from viator after using them for years.
Response from Host, Aug 2025
Hello Claudia,
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear about your experience. After reviewing our records for that day, it seems that this review may not correspond to the guide who was with our group — our guide on that tour did not match the description you’ve provided.
It’s possible that you may have joined another tour with a different company, and we would encourage you to reach out to Viator’s customer support so they can verify the booking and assist you with your refund request.
We strive to provide engaging, professional, and well-presented tours, and we’d be happy to welcome you on one of ours in the future.
Best regards,
NST TEAM

Wally led a very interesting tour of Omaha Beach explaining details of the geography, weather, bunkers, and planning strategy of both the allied and axis sides. Wally had a highly energetic and enthusiastic tone. I liked that Wally explained the origin of the five key beaches.
