Amazing experience, super well organized

Incredible experience, so glad i booked this. The tour was amazing, our guide, Max, was so knowledgeable throughout the day, giving us insights into the island, the fauna and flora, and just about anything else we asked. I loved that the pace was chill, no rushing, giving us time to really be present and each of the locations (and there was a lot!). Comfortable little van, well air-conditioned, flexible to show us different locations if the fog was too much in some of the stops on our itinerary... really worth every penny. Loved it, and thank you again Max for such a fun day!

Great experience - super fun.

Such a great experience and tour. First, it was a full 4 hour tour. No corners cut. We traveled paved roads, dirt roads and paths allowing us to see many aspects of the west side of Sao Miguel. We briefly stopped for snacks and restroom in a lovely town. . Our guide, friendly and gregarious, made sure we were safe and comfortable; he also offered helpful commentary/insight at various stops throughout the trip. He always took us to "just the right spot" at each stop, allowing for great vistas and outlooks. He took great pics of our family, for which we are grateful. Our "buggy" was clean and in great working order. If (when?!) we return to Sao Miguel, we will definitely do this tour again with this company! Super fun. Recommend highly. Tips: bring face protection (we wore bandanas / buffs) and sunglasses (or more) for eyes. Sometimes, dust gets kicked up if traversing dry roads. Also, wear / bring layers - can get a bit colder in some spots as cross island microclimates.

Great Experience

It seems like a family owned business which was really nice! The tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. He made sure to check in with everyone a few times throughout just to make sure everyone was good and didn’t have questions. We had been to a few different viewpoints of Sete Cidades before doing this, but i think it’s still worth it! It’s a different experience than just driving and pulling over. Also, you get to explore different areas/top of viewpoints that would only be reachable by walking /hiking etc.

The best experience!

The tour with Daniel was incredible. We went on our 2nd day after arriving and it was an amazing morning filled with unbelievable views and stories from our guide, Daniel. He filled us in on the history of each spot we stopped at and had so many fun facts along the way. We felt like it was the best way to start the trip, learning a lot and seeing some of the most incredible views on the island. Would definitely recommend!

Amazing and exhilarating. Indiana Jones tour!

Very active excursion. Hiking and canyoning. Jumping into the rivers and streams from varying heights. Super fun but also not for anyone with significant fear of heights or water. The guides are amazing. We had Tomas and Alfredo. They were the sweetest and funniest. Always made us feel safe and talked me personally off the ledge quite literally when I was panicking about jumping. This particular tour was not as challenging as it can be so if you want harder features then research some more.

This was a wonderful food tour. Our guide, Marcos, displayed a great deal of attention to guests food preferences and allergies. He also shared interesting history facts about the island and culture. Covers sao Miguel greatest hits much better than any one day tour

Okay. If you are looking at all in one tours this is probably the better option. There are one day tours of the island but you miss a lot doing it in one day. You really need two days to do it all which this tour does....basically all the greatest hits of the east and the west. Be aware that they sometimes change the order of the sites and sometimes flip around day 1 and day 2. If you want to see absolutely everything do this tour plus the "hidden gems" tour and maybe a boat tour as well (we did). A note about the lunches: there are other lunch places around the day of the volcanic lunch cozida al furnas but not many options on the second day. The buffet lunch is okay. But the volcanic lunch was a disappointment (sadly) as the food was nice but bland no seasoning no spice little flavor. My Azorean friends say the local versions are spicy so maybe they make it bland for the tourists. Ask for spice and seasonings for yours. Apart from the food a great tour it has everything. But don't forget the botanical gardens and thermal baths cost an extra 17 euros. And they want 3 euro admission for the volcanic park where they cook the food. But the botanical garden in Ponta Delgado is just as nice and it is free so go there and skip this unless you specifically want the thermal pools part. As I said a great tour and it would be basically impossible to rent a car and do all that driving yourself on very narrow winding and steep roads. Bom Dia!

The scenery was absolutely breathtaking, but what made the experience truly exceptional was our tour guide, Jose. Jose was the perfect representative for both the tour company and the island of São Miguel. His knowledge of the island’s history, culture, geology, and natural beauty was incredible, and he shared it in a way that was engaging and easy to understand. It was clear how deeply he cares about preserving this amazing place for future generations, and his passion for conservation added so much meaning to the tour. Throughout the day, Jose made sure everyone was comfortable, answered every question with enthusiasm, and took us to spectacular viewpoints that we never would have found on our own. His pride in the island was contagious, and by the end of the tour we had an even greater appreciation for the people, landscapes, and efforts to protect this special destination. Fun experience

The buggy ride was really fun and we ended up seeing several amazing view points even though we couldn’t see the blue and green lakes from the viewpoints as there was too much fog. We did get to ride around them on a trail and it was beautiful. The guide was really good and patient with the group. It was an amazing experience.

Our guide, Jose Miguel, is a walking encyclopedia with deep knowledge of Portugal and the Azores, specifically. He delights in teaching.
