Me and my husband decided to do the half day tour, and we ended up enjoying it so much we stayed for the full day! The best way to see the craters and GORGEOUS views. Eduardo was the absolute BEST! 12/10. He told us so many stories and history of the island, and you can tell how passionate he is for his home! Eduardo was so kind, and it was like traveling around with a friend! The lunch was buffet style, and so yummy! Stunning sites, awesome experience, amazing guide. Can’t say enough great things. Would totally do this again!

This was an excellent tour. Our guide/driver was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and he got us to some places most cars could not go. Every stop was phenomenal. This island reminded us so much of Hawaii. Incredible landscapes. We went in mid-April and the high was 63. We were fortunate with a partly sunny day, but it does get cold and windy in the higher elevations. Glad we had jackets. I would highly recommend this tour for fantastic views of Cete Cidades. Our driver knew so much of the history (real and folklore) and how plants and animals were introduced. We learned so much about Ponta Delgada, the Azores, the people and the landscapes that made this an amazing stop on the cruise we were on. Definitely worth every penny.

If your cruise ship drops you in Ponta Delgada for just a few hours, do yourself a favour and hop into a Jeep for the Off the Beaten Track Half-Day Sete Cidades Tour—because wow, what a ride!
First things first: the Jeep. Calling it “bumpy” feels like a polite understatement—it’s more like being gently (and sometimes not-so-gently) shaken like a cocktail. But somehow, that just adds to the fun. You’re laughing, bouncing, and gripping the seat while surrounded by views so stunning they almost feel unreal.
Speaking of views… the craters at Sete Cidades are absolutely breathtaking. Think dramatic cliffs, lush greenery, and lakes in surreal shades of blue and green.
And then there’s Eduardo—our guide, comedian, historian, and all-around legend. From the moment we met him, he made us feel completely at ease. He’s funny, friendly, and packed with fascinating facts about the Azores, all delivered with perfect timing and charm.
We climbed high into the mountains, soaked in jaw-dropping views, and learned more than we expected—all in just four or five hours. Honestly, it felt criminally short. I could’ve stayed for days exploring the island.
But if time is tight? Go. Bounce around, laugh a lot, and take in some of the most beautiful scenery you’ll ever see.

Daniel, our guide, was very knowledgeable and all around great to chat with. The views were breathtaking, information great, and riding around in the Jeep was fun and comfortable. We enjoyed the short stop in Sete Cidades (the city) and all the photo ops along the way. We recommend this experience and hope to do it again another time!

Eduardo of greenzone was a great guide. This small group tour (just 3 of us) was an amazing way to see Ponta Delgada and sete cidades. Eduardo was very knowledgeable and personable which made our short stay (cruise stop) are great experience. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Great tour guide, we just chose a poor weather day. Unfortunately we couldn’t see much from the top views, it just wasn’t a clear day. However, our guide Eduardo was awesome and showed us plenty of nice picture spots.

This jeep trip was a highlight of our week in Sao Miguel. Our driver Marcio was very accommodating making sure we saw the best of Sete Cidades when the skies were clear. He took us to the highest points and look-outs reachable by jeep.

It was a great tour to the volcanic lakes, and our guide was Eduardo who really made the experience worth while. He was really passionate about his Island and the knowledge he shared was evident of that. And being in a Land Rover for the tour was really exciting.

Sergio with Greenzone was AMAZING!!! This tour was so much fun and Sergio provided so much knowlane experience along with it. The off-roading experience in the back of the Jeep going up the steep trails was the highlight for me, but the real star of this trip was the views! The beauty of this island can be seen and appreciated on this tour.
We highly recommend this tour if you are looking for some excitement, beauty and knowledge. Request Sergio specifically as he made this trip even more spectacular!

This tour took us to a wonderful area of the Azores. Our tour guide, Eduardo, was the best!! He was so fun! He showed us touristy places, but seemed to find a peaceful and non-busy place to view them. It felt like a very personal tour. He was even helpful with pictures. What a beautiful island!!!

Edouard our guide was very acknowledge and personable and knew how to get around so that we never hit cruise traffic. We went from the top of the volcano down to the town with a stop there for restrooms, souvenirs, and pictures. We were supposed to have a Jeep but got a Toyota Land Cruiser instead and we’re very happy we did. Some of the roads were very bumpy but very scenic. I would highly recommend this tour.

This tour of the volcanos was thoroughly enjoyable, despite the fact that it rained most of the morning. It was a fantastic experience, mostly because of our amazing guide, Sergio. Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and friendly, he made sure everybody had a good time. I highly recommend this tour, especially if you get Sergio as your guide.

We went on our cruise stopover in Oct 25. It was a foggy day but our tour guide was awesome. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see much with the fog and sprinkles but he made it better than seeing nothing. One woman said it was the worst tour they ever took - but, you can't control the weather. If you read a negative comment, keep in mind that the tour is what you make of it. Be willing to listen to the guide and ask questions instead of complaining. Overall, it made us want to return to see it again in full sunlight.
