Starting and in the parish of Fenais da Luz on the North Coast, take the wheel of a powerful all-terrain vehicle and begin your thrilling journey through São Miguel Island. Embark on paved roads before venturing into dirt roads along the scenic seafront.
Along with your guides, ascend to the highest peaks of the surrounding mountains, immersing yourself in the beauty of the Sete Cidades Volcano. Travese through a mix of exhilarating on- and off-road trails, including those used in the Azores Airlines Rallye.
Next, Pico da Cruz offers a viewpoint 2,772 feet (845 meters) above sea level. Feast your eyes upon the panorama, including the Lagoa Rasa, Lagoa de Santiago, Lagoa Verde, Lagoa Azul, and a sight of the entire crater of the Sete Cidades volcano, before your tour comes to an end.

Driving ATV’s we left the town and climbed the ancient volcano. Stopping to see an impressive aqueduct. We toured around the rim of the caldera experiencing fantastic views. Unlike 4-wheel truck tours, we experience nature the whole time, not just when the the truck stopped. The guide was experienced, friendly and knowledgeable.

We did this ride despite the weather not being optimal, but it worth it 100%!! ATV's were nice and comfortable, trails and roads were just right for an adventure. Our guide was kind, patient and knowledgeable. Cannot stress enough as others have, dress appropriately, bring gloves, dress warm, bring a gator to wear and just have so much fun!!

Even though the weather wasn’t perfect, this tour was so great! There so many amazing viewpoints and opportunities for unique photos. I would highly recommend bringing layers and gloves as the temperature and wind can drastically change as you gain altitude. We would 100% do this tour again!

We planned this trip with a Jeep Tour and then at the last moment changed our mind to the Quad bike/buggy tour….. what an incredible thrill to actually be in charge of the vehicle going up, steep hills/mountains through the terrain…
We recovered so much of the area and it’s just hard to explain, but our guide was fantastic. We plan to come back to the Azores and this is something I would do again.

Such a fun half-day quad biking trip with Filip! The route was beautiful and really picturesque. We stopped for a coffee break and even got a little history along the way. Everything was smooth, safe, and super enjoyable. 10/10 recommend!

Great trails for riding Quads! Pulled over a few times for great photos and view of the lake and other spots. So much fun and our guide was great. If you were having difficulty he’d come right over to assist. Making everyone feel inclusive

The trip was 3.5 hours, all on ATV. The host gave a quick rundown of how to drive the ATV, and then off we went. There was 25 people in the group, with about 10 ATVs. This is a must do to see Sete Cidades from a unique perspective!

Great experience! The terrains were accessible for all of us and had great views along the way. Went in the middle of September the weather was good. Got foggy near the mountain tops but the views were clear. I would recommend taking your own over sharing cause driving is honestly the best part.

Awesome views. Tour guide was patient and attentive. Family trip both my husband and adult son drove a quad. Took a bit to get use to but guide kept a good pace to adjust. Wouldn’t recommend to a first time Quad driver since terrain can be intimidating with steep inclines and declines

Our tour guide was wonderful. This was the best quad tour that we have ever taken. We stopped along our adventure, several times, to take in all the beauty of this island and for pictures. This is a must do, for anyone wanting to explore the island and see views that you would not experience anywhere else. Absolutely amazing!

Fun trip thru the Cidades. We had four or five stops along our journey. Each stop we spent ten-fifteen minutes at and took pictures/walked around. If you are looking for a nice overview of the Cidades this is a great way to explore. If you want to spend a lot of time at any one particular part of Cidades this is not the best way to explore any particular spot in depth. Bruno, our tour guide was excellent!

This is a "must-do" experience. It was so fun and the tour guide was knowledgeable. The weather may or may not play spoilsport but its the way of life here. Long sleeves and pants fare better as its cooler up in the hills

The experience is very weather dependent, but you can’t really plan for that so just take a chance! Our tour at high altitude was socked in with clouds, but our guide made up for that by extending our tour and taking down to the lake for an excursion that was not part of the original trip - a very kind thing to do! All in all, it was a wonderful experience despite the bad weather. Very exciting to operate these machines, however, it is somewhat physically demanding to drive these vehicles, so those who aren’t strong may be better off choosing to ride with someone else who is driving.
