If you're only going to do one tour, this one fits a comprehensive island experience into a comfortable day's schedule: tea and pineapple plantation visits, crater lake views, the Parque Terra Nostra botantical gardens with the opportunity for hotspring bathing, bubbling hotsprings belching steam, the opportunity to enjoy Cozido das Furnas cooked below ground in volcanic heat. (Participants need to budget 18 and 25 euros for garden entry and 3-course lunch respectively.) Our guide, Amandine, was excellent: knowledgeable and informative with excellent English; helpful and attentive.

Our tour guide Sylvia was very friendly and we enjoy spending the day with her. We got to spend several hours seeing all the highlights of the island. She ate lunch with my husband and I at the restaurant that served local stew and we had a lovely time. The gardens were amazing and we really enjoyed the tea plantation and the pineapple greenhouses. It was a wonderful day.

Carlos was very informative. He took the time to answer all our questions with great detail and was very knowledgeable about the island and its history. The Cozido das Furnas at Tony’s restaurant was amazing! Follow that up with a visit to the hot springs at Terra Nossa Park. It was the perfect day. Highly recommend this trip!!

André our guide was amazing.
As for the tour, i eegret 2 things: not enough time to walk along the tea plant at the team plantation and only 1h15 to swim in the Furnas hitsprings + visit the botanique gardent us definitely not enough. It shoukd be another excursion as you can't buy separate tickets for garden and pool. So disappointed about that.

The trip was well planned, and the short drives from point to point made the experience even more enjoyable. Exploring Furnas and Povoaçao village was absolutely breathtaking. The Cozido was delicious, trully unique and prepared in such an extraordinary way! It is worth paying for it. Wear/bring layers of clothes as the weather can change throughout the day. Try the pineapple sorbet!

Good service, reliable as they didn’t cancel even when noone else showed. Julio was a great guide, knowledgable and also easy to talk to. I had a good time driving around. Not sure if it’s obvious, but this tour stops in Furnas and you can go and bathe in the pool (you have about 1.5hrs there), so take a swimsuit and a towel for this trip!

Great tip about Furnas — it’s true that the tour includes a stop there, and having the chance to bathe in the thermal pool is always a highlight. Bringing a swimsuit and towel definitely makes the most of that part of the day.

Really liked the hot springs, but wish we would have been given more instructions on how to use the lockers. Lunch was great at Tony's in Furnas. I also had sent a message through Viator to the tour operator and it was never answered.

You are going to see a lot of great scenery, which is the main attraction. The Tea Plantation and the Pineapple Farm are nice but it is the views that made the trip.

Excellent day tour. Plenty of time at the hot springs and gardens, as well as the tea plantation. The pineapple plantation was a little rushed, but apart from the green houses there isnt much to see there. Andre was an excellent guide and overall the trip was well paced.

We had a fantastic time on the tour with Rafael. He truly loves his island and it shows in his delivery of the tour. Rafael shared a lot of information about the history of the island while taking us to many special places. The day was packed with lots of amazing sights!
Few notes regarding expenses:
Thermal Water Admission 17 euro
Lunch: 17 euro includes soup, meal, drinks and dessert…fabulous food at quite a deal! Highly recommend it!
Only suggestion: Although it was a nice gesture to be given a choice to select one of two choices for the tea plantation part of the tour, I would just stick to the one advertised (Gorreanea). Our group chose the smaller one which had incredible views of the island but a few of us regretted the choice. When we passed by Gorreanea, we wished we visited that one instead. It was a lot more impressive. Although more commercial, the grounds appeared to be stunning.

Great day - this tour covered off most of what we wanted to do in one day. Some walking involved. Tony's restaurant in Furnas was great! Through the tour you get a discounted rate which included wine, beer, soup starter, main cozido and dessert and coffee.
The time at Terra Nostra felt short especially if you go in the thermal pool. It is such a large beautiful place you could easily spend half a day there.
Melissa was our tour guide and she was amazing. Very knowledgeable, friendly and navigated the roads well making us feel safe in the air conditioned van. Would highly recommend this tour. We travelled in a group of 8 which means we had the van and tour guide to ourselves.

It was a very fun and immersive experience. Rodrigo was our guide and he was a great host and by the end of it I think safe to a say a great friend as well. The lunch was very good as well and all the spots we visited were very beautiful.
