A very comfortable experience for our family of eight! Marco was very knowledgeable and informative. He was an historian! Our tour guide Norbert was great too. Lots of stories and fun facts. Highly recommend!

The Hallstatt village was beautiful, but the tour operator canceled our original visit to this village for the next day because they did not have enough people for the tour. I had to change my other vacation commitment to accommodate gray line Vienna white alligator tour, my other commitment party charged 85.00 and this tour operator declined the request to reimbursed me
Be careful dealing with this company as they can cancel your reservation a day before. Not reliable and Viator did not assisted at all

We’re glad to hear you found Hallstatt beautiful. However, we would like to kindly address a few inaccuracies in your review regarding the tour cancellation and rescheduling.
This is a small-group tour that requires a minimum of 4 passengers to operate, as clearly stated in the tour description. Unfortunately, several other guests cancelled their bookings just four days before the scheduled departure on April 22nd, which meant we fell short of the minimum number required.
On April 18th, we contacted you by email and promptly offered you two clear alternatives: to move to an alternative tour date or to receive a full refund. You chose to move to the April 21st departure, and we processed this change at no extra cost to you.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience this caused to your travel plans. Please note, however, that we are not responsible for any separate bookings or cancellation fees you incurred with third-party providers. The $85 charge was applied directly by the other operator according to their own terms and conditions, over which we have no control.
Last-minute cancellations by fellow guests are an unfortunate but common challenge with small-group tours. Our minimum passenger requirement and cancellation policies are clearly outlined at the time of booking. We always do our best to run every tour as scheduled whenever the minimum is met.
We believe we handled the situation transparently and in full accordance with our published terms. We truly hope you still enjoyed your time in Hallstatt despite the change in plans.

The entire trip was fantastic through the beautiful fairytale lake region to the absolutely beautiful Hallstatt. A special thank you to our very informative tour guide, Balazs whose knowledge about the history and culture of Austria was informative and entertaining. Thanks also to Christina for making our visit to Hallstatt so memorable both in its exquisite beauty and you intimate knowldge of the history and culture of this jewel of Austria. A day well-spent!!!

Excellent day out to the Lakes regions and village of Hallstatt. Along the way, we stopped at or saw other lakes / villages (Attersee, Mondsee, St. Gilgen, etc). The lakes are beautiful and Hallstatt is stunning. Our driver/guide, Peter, was great: friendly, knowledgeable, a sly sense of humor, and a good driver - important as it is a LONG time on the road. We also had a very good short (<1 hr) historical tour to orient ourselves once we arrived in Hallstatt, and plenty of time for a leisurely lunch and wander around town. All in all highly recommend!

Thank you so much to Peter and Christina! This tour was a long day but was wonderful. Peter drove us all over Austria and told us all about Austria and the different sights. Christina was our guide when we got to Hallstatt and did a great job telling us about the city. Although the day is long, there are plenty of stops along the way. The small tour option was great! There were only four of us on the tour. Highly recommend 😊

The day trip tour to Hallstatt was an incredible experience! Our guides through White Alligator Tours were amazing. Both were extremely knowledgeable and personable. The alpine villages themselves were beautiful and unique and there were interesting stops on the way to and from Hallstatt that positively added to the overall experience. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone traveling in and around Vienna!

Wonderful day Trip from Vienna. Peter our driver was fantastic and we stopped off at a number of locations along the way to Hallstatt. The town itself was picturesque despite the heavy snow. When we arrived at the town a local guide took us around for a tour of town and had a brief history and pointed us to the places to visit, eat or take pictures.
The ride home was long (only due to heavy snow) but our driver Peter navigated the roads well to ensure a safe return to Vienna. He was excellent and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

As the listing says, it was a very long day, but worth every minute! Incredibly beautiful area that looks right out of a postcard. Marco gave great information about things we passed in Vienna and did his best to break up the long drive. Alexandra was also a fantastic guide, and it was pretty special to hear about Hallstatt from someone who grew up there. Both were truly wonderful. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see Hallstatt from Vienna!
I do want to say that people should remember there are families who live in Hallstatt- touring the small town means you are walking around their homes. It was sad to see that many tourists didn’t care about that as we watched them enter closed gates into peoples yards to take photos of themselves. Our guides made sure we knew this, but it was clear people touring on their own might not have had the benefit of this information (or disregarded it if they had it). Again, can’t recommend this tour enough!

Hallstatt was incredible. It was definitely worth doing the tour to learn more about the town and its history, but wish we had a little more time there. The salt mine and skywalk were closed, and it would have been nice knowing that ahead of time.

Our day trip to Hallstatt was an excellent experience! Our driver Roman made the trip extremely smooth, he was very knowledgeable and helpful and answered all of our questions while making the trip fun on the drive! Pick up was very easy with excellent communication ahead of time with timing details and what to expect. This is a long day around 12 hours in total from pick up to drop off but was well worth it! Hallstatt was beautiful and exceeded our expectations! When in town you receive a short guided tour then have free time to explore on your own. Definitely recommend this experience!

It is without a doubt that I booked this small tour group right! I was fetched by a different tour guide who was quite the gentleman, Balazs, who took me to the main tour guide, Peter, who was also a gentleman, fantastic, knowledgeable & always helpful when we needed something; he also drove us excellently and safely whilst being an amazing tour guide! In Hallstatt, we had a different tour guide due to their local tourism rule over there. She was also brilliant and accommodating to our group. The people in our group ( there were 7 of us) were all so lovely as well that some of us ended up having lunch in Hallstatt together and even exploring the Rathausplatz Christmas market in Vienna after the trip. I would definitely recommend this trip as you won’t only see & experience Hallstatt for the day but you’d also see the other magnificent lakes in Austria’s lake district. Very grateful to have had the experience of a lifetime!

Very scenic countryside and fun to learn about the lands. Marko did a great job educating us and caring for us all day. The tour of the town was informative but short. Off season is best time to visit in fall colorful leaves and avoiding 8000 tourists in the small iconic looking town.

Zoltan was a good guide and driver. The tour guide in Hallstatt was also good and knowledgeable. Hallstatt is just stunning. It’s worth the long drive there and back. Yes it is very touristy so peak season would probably be a different experience, but it wasn’t too crowded for us and we didn’t have to wait for a table for lunch and we had a view of the lake at the restaurant.
In our view, there was one stop too many - the first wasn’t needed - a service station / restaurant / motel.
Other than that it was a good day trip and the communication was excellent in the lead up to it.

Highly recommend this tour if you're short on time and want to make it to the lake region/Halstatt. Our tour guide, Balazs, was attentive and knowledgeable. The small stops along the way are a nice break on the drive.

You cannot come to Austria and not experience Hallstatt.
Roman and Christiana were fantastic guides and shared so much knowledge.

We had a great experience at Hallstatt. Our guide was very knowledgeable and attentive, and once in Hallstatt, our guide there took us on an informative tour through some of the less-travelled but equally impressive parts of the village. There were large groups of tourists near the water and at the “Instagram points,” but aside from that, we found plenty of quiet places and cafes to enjoy.

I choose to travel with small group and paid much more money for the trip than other companies to enjoy more time and relaxing atmosphere. I was picked up the first at 6:45 AM and dropped off the last at 20:00 PM , the time spent at Hallstadt could have bin extended a bit rather than visiting these 2 little towns on the way back where we had only 20 to 15 min. At each of them . The guide at Hallstadt was average , nothing included in the price except the drive , bottle of water in the van and a little packet of chocolate which is nice . Hallstadt is a very beautiful town but the drive is long and unfortunately it was a public holiday in Austria so it was overcrowded with tourists and locals which made it very hard to find a place at a lake restaurant or cafe specially when you have limited time there . Conclusion , I would rather spend the whole trip at Hallstadt, I would recommend that people choose a day away from public holiday’s and weekends, and if you are picked up first would be nice to have your drop off first instead of waiting although in the Morning I waited for all the others , only if you are lucky you will have nice participants of the tour . I didn’t have this luck .

Regarding pick-up and drop-off, we always try to plan these as efficiently as possible for the whole group, though with shared tours it can mean being first in and last out depending on the route.

We loved the tour. Our guide and driver, Roman, was amazing—very attentive and explained every detail. In Hallstatt, the guide Cristiana gave us a great overview of the village. The tour through the Austrian lakes and Hallstatt was truly worth it.

Had a wonderful day! The first stop was at a rest stop (which was veryyy expensive so make sure to byo breakfast). We then made two stops at lakes that were sooo beautiful. I enjoyed getting to walk around a bit and put my feet in the water. I would recommend packing water shoes and a bathing suit in case you are tempted to go swimming (i honestly would have if I’d known). Then we arrived in Hallstatt where we had a great tour with Christiana who shared some of the highlights of the village with us. We then had a perfect amount of time to walk around on our own, get food, take more pictures, and buy souvenirs. The car ride was long, but our driver, Roman, was fantastic! He was very kind and offered to stop for pictures here and there. He also had amazing knowledge to share about the sights that we passed along the way. It was the perfect amount of information with a bit of humor here and there. The ride was long, but definitely worth it in the end!

This was a really nice experience. Past through some very scenic mountains and lakes. Our driver/guide Marcus was outstanding. Very nice and knowledgeable. He was able to guide us around a traffic accident ands kept us on time as well.
