It’s hard to be a tour guide

Phyllis_D, Jul 2026
We took a day tour to Prague from Vienna. We were picked up on time by our very professional and knowledgeable guide , Marco for the drive to Prague and back. Unfortunately things went downhill fast when we were introduced to our local “guide” Linda. Now let me preface my comments by saying my husband and I travel a lot and have had all types of guides some better than others but we all realized from the start that this was going to be a difficult afternoon. She welcomed us speaking very fast and in broken English. Then before we knew it she started walking quickly away from us and consistently stayed more than 25 feet ahead assuming we would follow her. What shocked us was she didn’t even turn around to check to see if we were all together and safe. When she finally did stop if we asked a question about something we passed or where we were she very rudely said “I’m going to talk about that now”. If we asked a question she felt she had already answered she curtly stated “as I told you early”. Well I must confess I was done being treated like we were ruining her plans that day ( she did share with us that she had just gotten her hair dyed pink for the upcoming festival she was in) I let her have it with the complaints I just told you about. Her reply to me was no one has ever yelled at her before. Then she said if I could only understand her position that she has to talk an awful lot as a tour guide and it is hard! I swear to you that is what she said to me. Well after that my day was ruined I was embarrassed that I lost my cool and I embarrassed my husband and made the rest of the travelers uncomfortable. Yikes! Do I recommend this company? I hope that don’t treat this as a one and out. This Linda should not be touring anyone, anywhere!

Response from Host, Jul 2026

Dear Phyllis_D, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear your experience with Linda didn’t meet your expectations. Linda has been a professional guide in Prague for many years and has successfully led hundreds of tours with consistently positive feedback. This is the first complaint we’ve ever received about her. From what Linda shared, the tour became difficult after you raised your voice and shouted at her in front of the group. While we always expect our guides to handle situations calmly and professionally, being shouted at is understandably upsetting for anyone. We truly value your feedback and will discuss this with Linda to see how we can support her even better. However, we continue to have full confidence in her as an experienced and reliable guide. We hope this helps explain our perspective, and we’d welcome the opportunity to host you again on a future tour under better circumstances. Kind regards, The Gray Line Vienna - White Alligator Tours Team

Top notch sight seeing tour

Jennifer_D, Jun 2026
This experience is for those that need to maximize a short period of time and want to see the highlights of a beautiful city. Our driver, Roman, and guide, Hannah, were both professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. I highly recommend this day trip to anyone who wants to explore a new city without the hassle of trying to navigate it on your own.

Great trip!

If you are not an early person, you may have challenges waking up early as picking up is early n punctual

Great toue

Robin_M, Jun 2026
This was a great tour to see Prague. Our tour guide Roman did a great job driving and providing all of the information that we needed. The local guide in Prague Linda was very informative and provide a good stories and recommendations for lunch. There was plenty of free time in Prague once the city tour was complete

Great Tour

Marcela_T, Jun 2026
Peter our driver was great and Linda the tour girl was very helpful and sweet. Great tour, we had a great day and got what we were hoping from the tour.

Prague highlights

Annie_N, Jun 2026
It was a great overview of Prague highlights with a small group. It was a nice way to spend the afternoon in a cool city to decide if it’s a place we’d like to revisit (we would! LOL). I was ok with not spending time at each point of interest and just getting the overview. And Linda, our tour guide was very sweet and knowledgeable. Belange (our driver) was also very knowledgeable and kind.

Poor time management

PRAKASH_R, Jun 2026
The vehicle for a small group was unacceptable since it was not a comfortable journey for 7 hours in total. The time allocated was not enough to go around Prague.

Response from Host, Jun 2026

Dear PRAKASH_R, Thank you for your feedback. The vehicle was a standard 9-seater Mercedes minivan with only 6 passengers on your tour, well below capacity and with space for everyone. A 7-hour round trip is the reality of traveling 300 km each way from Vienna to Prague. This is clearly stated in the tour description. You spent approximately 5 hours in Prague: 2.5 hours guided walking tour and 2.5 hours free time. This is the standard allocation for a full-day trip that includes the long transfer. Most of the Guests find this sufficient to see the main highlights. We recommend reading the full tour description carefully before booking in the future, as all timings and details are clearly mentioned there. If 5 hours was not enough for you to properly visit Prague, a day trip from Vienna is simply not the right option. In that case, we suggest choosing a multi-day tour or one with an overnight stay in Prague instead. We appreciate your feedback. Kind regards, Gray Line Vienna - White Alligator Tours Team

Our driver Balazs is the best. Very accommodating, took real good care of us, made us comfortable during the whole trip. Excellent service from Balazs! However, adjust your expectations from your local tour guide, ours was nice and knowledgeable but I felt that her tour was a bit hurried and we were not given enough time to take good photos especially in scenic spots.

Excellent Tour guide...

There are many beautiful scenery around Prague. If you have enough time, you may stay here for 2-3 days.

Prague is magical

Charisma_A, May 2026
I expected so much on Prague because I heard a lot about it. But when I saw it myself, I'm still in awe & surprised. Anywhere you see is magic though it's a crowded city. Also, we have a wonderful guide, Alice. & Markus our driver is so patient & kind.

Great experience but with a caveat regarding mobility.

Wendy_M, Apr 2026
Guides were great however…. This tour has some tricky walking with steep hills and cobblestones. A member of our group had mobility issues and much difficulty throughout the tour. As the tour group ensured her safety, she was in physical distress at times and had many issues. I wouldn’t recommend this tour for folks with mobility struggles. The tour went on over an hour past expected time to ensure the safety of the struggling member.

Owen_M, Apr 2026
Marco the driver was wonderful. 2 1/2 non stop tour in Prague was very overwhelming. Lots of stops but for example see the outside of a beautiful church without going in. Very Hilly you need to be in n good shape.

Response from Host, Apr 2026

Dear Owen_M, Thank you for your kind words about the driver. We’re really glad you enjoyed that part of the experience! Regarding the walking tour, it is designed as a 2.5-hour guided overview of Prague’s historic center. Because much of this area is car-free, walking is the best (and really the only) way to properly experience and cover the main sights within a limited timeframe. Prague truly has an incredible amount to offer. You could easily spend several days exploring the city in depth. Our tour is meant to give you a comprehensive introduction rather than an in-depth visit to each site. Entering landmarks such as churches or museums would require significantly more time, which is why stops are focused on exterior views and guided explanations. That said, the itinerary also includes 2.5 hours of free time, which you can use to explore specific sites of interest at your own pace, including going inside any attractions you’d like. We appreciate your feedback and hope you still had a memorable experience in this beautiful city! Kind regards, The Gray Line Vienna - White Alligator Tours Team

A Flawless Prague Tour with Marco & Linda – Truly Memorable

Wael_C, Apr 2026
An absolutely excellent tour and one of the highlights of my trip! The entire experience with White Alligator Tours was extremely seamless and perfectly organized — everything was on point from start to finish. We covered all the must-see landmarks including Wenceslas Square, Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, and the beautiful Old Town (Staré Město) with the famous Prague Astronomical Clock. The itinerary was perfectly paced and very informative without ever feeling rushed. A special thank you to Marco, our guide from Vienna — his professionalism, organization, and friendly approach made the journey seamless and enjoyable from the very beginning. And a huge thank you to Linda in Prague — she was truly outstanding! Her knowledge, passion, and engaging storytelling brought the city to life and made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Prague!

Critique of day trip to Prague.

Marjorie_J, Mar 2026
Diver was excellent with his narratives on the drive there and home (5/5)! The tour guide rushed us through the tour not allowing time for pictures. She would turn around and walk briskly to next area for discussion. If you attempted to take a photo before departing, you would loose tour guide and run in direction she departed to catch up. Our group was small (6 people) and when we asked tour guide to wait (several time to take a picture) her response was if she waited for pictures she would not finish her tour areas in the 2 hours she was given. Therefore, we were encouraged to follow her so she could get through her tour time and then return to take pictures later of the previous places we were taken too. After tour guide was done, the group had 3 hours to walk around. My recommendation would be for the company to pay the tour guide for an extra 30 minutes so customers aren’t rushed from area to area and provide them with a minute or two at certain sites to take pictures . Also, after we saw all the sites and shown the hotel for pick up, i needed to abort the final walk into an open market area as my husband was having trouble breathing and in need if his inhaler. As a medical professional, i told the tour guide we needed to stop (my family only) and would meet everyone at pick up point due to my husband’s medical distressing . The tour guides tone changed (aggravated and annoyed) informing us we had to follow her a bit longer to the departure place. Despite my husband’s struggles, we made it to the open market place and were provided with the tour guides instagram account, her thank you for choosing the tour and her acceptance of gratuities. This was disturbing as she appeared more interested in obtaining positive reviews than the health of her group customer. Additionally, three hours to walk around the area alone is much too long. Two hours to a maximum of 2.5 hours would have been more than enough time to have lunch and walk around the area. Its a nice tour, however i would suggest revising the time lines and having the tour guide more empathetic to her customers. Prague is a beautiful city to visit.

Efficient way to see Prague. City walking tour covered basics. Maybe a bit too short. Will probably plan a proper 2-3 day trip

I was supposed to be...

OmarAzfar_H, Dec 2025
I was supposed to be picked up from my hotel, but because of a last minute change in my travel dates, I had to change my hotel as the previous one did not allow rescheduling. They were gracious enough to let me know that I could be picked up at a different spot so it did not derail the route/plans for the other guests. They were very efficient and swift in handling this. I was picked up by Markus, who is hilarious and knowledgeable about history and fun facts about places we passed by. The long ride from and to Prague also did not feel draining because of Markus’ driving skills! In Prague, we had the local tour guide Linda, who is very impressive in her overall knowledge and passion. The level of details is incredible to help us immerse ourselves in the experience.

Terrific Prague visit with a Terrific Tour Team

Susan_S, Dec 2025
Terrific experience with a great team. The driver Balazs spoke about the history of Austria and the Czech Republic extensively and was very knowledgeable and kind. Our guide Cathy was very well informed and courteous and accommodating to those with physical challenges. Prague is a beautiful city I will return.

take the trip!

Paige_B, Dec 2025
This was a long but awesome day. The car trip to Prague is a bit long but totally worth it. The guided tour was great and we had a good amount to free time to explore the city center and grab a bite to eat.

Christmas markets in Prague

We had an amazing time. Prague was incredible. Our driver Marco was so courteous and kind and knowledgeable. Gabrielle our tour guide gave us just the right amount of information and allow us several hours to shop at the Christmas markets. She was awesome.

Absolutely amazing. Perfect tour. Marco our driver is amazing & our tour guide in Prague , Gabriella was amazing!

A beautiful day in Prague!

Stuart_G, Nov 2025
Marcos our driver was very efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. He got us to Prague on time and it was a beautiful day where we were placed in the capable hands of our tour guide (unfortunately whose name I cannot recall). She was witty, full of fun facts and made sure to point out all the interesting sights along our two hour walk through the old town, city, castle and the newer part of the city. She even made a great recommendation for lunch. All in all a great introduction to Prague which just made us want to come back and spend more time.

Recommended tour for a quick visit to Prague

Mehran_N, Oct 2025
If Prague is on your bucket list for cities to visit, this is the right tour for you. It gives you a quick intro to the city, its history and attractions. Both our tour guide in Vienna and driver (Marco) and local tour guide (V) were very professional and provided valuable information.
