Our tour guide Richard did an amazing job and our driver, too. Hallstat is a beautiful place. It is worth a second visit.
The entire trip was a delight! Matt and Richard did a fantastic job! Matt was a wonderful guide, explaining about the trip and places, very pleasant and happy personality. I travelled with my sister and we both had an absolute amazing time !! Excellent job !
Getting the right bus among so many tourist buses was little difficult as there was no sign of recognition ( like mentioning the destination). Our guide was very nice and explained things perfectly.While coming back stopping at the palace was unnecessary. We could have some more time in beautiful Hallstatt. Overall pleasant experience.
We had a wonderful day in Hallstatt and at Schloss Ort. Our host Matt was very helpful and informative and was available all day for little chats and ideas.
The day was very long, in fact we spent more time on the coach than off it. It was a very long journey to get to Hallstatt and then only have 3 hours to look around. If you do the boat trip, reduce that to 2 hours and if you want to have lunch in a restaurant reduce it even further to 1 hour. Hallstatt is a beautiful place, more time there would have been helpful. To allow this maybe leave out the short visit to Schloss Ort and add this time to the stay in Hallstatt. We were very disappointed that we did not get to see all of the parts of Hallstatt that we wanted.
The tour was planned very well. Exceptional guide. Covered all important places. Coach arrived on time and departures were as planned. Beutiful landscape of Austria was just like we were looking at an art, a masterpiece. Highly rater to all tourists. One of the best I've been in my life till date.
Hallstatt is quite the change from the major cities. It is nestled in the mountain range around a beautiful lake. The town itself is crowded with visitors. Hallstatt is worth the drive but check all weather first. Unfortunately for us it was cloudy and rainy so we could not experience the real beauty there are parts of the drive because of the clouds over the mountains and towns.
You need to know if you take a tour the stops they make require Euro coins for bathroom. Some places in these towns only take Euros and no cards.
Our guide was Richard. He is young and is very personable. There isn't too much he can say along the ride because a lot is interstate. But he does tell you about the lakes region and town of Hallstatt. He told me he drives an hour to get to Vienna then rides to and from Hallstatt and back home making this a very long day. He smiled and was super nice even though he works such long days. I respect him for that and we tipped him well.
The departure was 7.15 and i was waiting at the meeting point since 7 and the bus didn’t show up. Not sure if this is a scam!!
The tour group cancelled last minute. We showed up for our pickup at 7 am at our hotel. When no one showed up I logged into the Viator site, only to find a messsge the trip was canceled. Would have been professional to send a courtesy message via text, email or phone call so we could have made other arrangements.
It was a great way to get to see 2 cities in one day. Tour guide was very helpful and knowledgeable. It was wonderful to have our own personal guide . Thank you Marek for a great experience and for getting us to dinner on time 😊
Absolutely one of the best days of our vacation. Maros, our guide and driver, was exceptional. We appreciated his insights and honest recommendations. Hallstatt is a stunning, postcard-perfect place. There are many fine restaurants from which to choose, and many shops feature locally made handcrafted products. We highly recommend this tour.
The whole trip was very good, Guides were helpful, the only thing that could have been better was Bus as it was not up to the mark, garbage bin was continuously flipping and driver was bit negligent to it, otherwise it was all good.

Richard was great! Great communication before the trip and great tours in the cities. He made times and pickup locations clear and was knowledgeable on the places, even pointing out things as we drove.
Driver was great but this was mainly a transportation tour. There was a small walking tour with a little history but not much else.
I recently did a tour to Hallstatt and Salzburg with my mom while visiting Vienna, and it was absolutely unforgettable! The scenery was breathtaking, and both destinations felt like something out of a fairytale. Our guide, Marek, was fantastic – super attentive, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying the experience.
This tour is definitely a must-do when in Vienna. It was the perfect way to see some of Austria’s most beautiful places in one day, without any stress. Highly recommend!
This was our favorite thing we did while visiting Vienna. Maros and the company were very commutative about pick up place and time. Maros was very experienced and friendly. We rode with 2 other couples, so it was not crowded. Hallstat is remarkable, highly recommend doing this on a weekday as we were told weekends are packed in the area.
Salzburg was having it's Oktoberfest while we visited. You get plenty of time to explore the areas and take photos, Maros shared good history bits along the way..you are driving across Vienna for the day, the drive is nice, lovely views.

Everything as advertised. Highly recommend and know it is only a taste of what the areas have. Could easily spend a full day Halstatt and several at Salzburg and still be missing much. Excellent driver/guide.
The 14-hour day was 100% worth it to see beautiful Halstaadt and Salzburg. Halstaadt was a magical little lakeside village with small shops that felt like a throwback to a simpler time. In Salzburg, my partner and I toured Mozart's birth home; something I'll never forget. Our tour group was only six people, which made it easy to keep track of everyone and have some "free" time in each place to explore. BTW, don't bother with Sacher tortes. They're overrated. :-)
It was a pleasant trip to Hallstatt and Salzburg. The tour guide is very knowledgeable about the place. He gave us enough time to walk around and explore the place.

Hallstatt is scenic and very beautiful. Salzburg’s is full of history, we were able to see where Mozart was born.

There’s a lot of driving/sitting long period of time as the destinations are not close to Vienna but Hallstatt alone made it well-worth it. We initially thought there would be 5 passengers but turned into 8, which was quite snug for a van. Marek was very kind, made recommendations where you could visit/check out during your free time in each area. I left my phone in the van and when the hotel staff reached out to the company late at night, he immediately called back to assure me he had it and dropped it off first thing in the morning. Thank you Marek!!
Beautiful scenery. Hallstat was incredible. Salzburg was nice. Would have liked some more description of sites along the way during the drive.
The town of Hallstatt was so charming. A great place to relax and see. However, 2 hours in a small town compared to 2 hours in Salzburg seemed disproportionate in time. The tour driver gave basic information about both places upon arriving at our two destinations. However, compared to other tour drivers he could be more engaging with his passengers from the time we left Vienna. He functioned more of a driver than a tour guide offering very few comments during the 2+ hour drive to Hallstatt. Likewise, very little was said en route to Salzburg. More friendly and more information during the trip would enhance the 14 hour day tour.
It was a great trip and very well organized. It was definitely worth the money. I would highly recommend it.
Excellent scenery on the way from Vienna, we were 4 adults and we had a couple with us, the car was a little crowded and small for this number, but overall it was a nice day tour

I would recommend this trip with a very short ferry/boat trip in Hallstatt as opposed to going into the salt mine. Locals were adamant that the salt mine wasn’t worth the trip but the funicular to the top and eating at the restaurant is absolutely worth it. It’s a long day but the guide I had was great. The car was a bit small and cramped but the AC kept us comfortable. Salzburg is worth a visit. I considered doing it solo by train from Vienna or Munich but the tour is the way to go.
