- May be operated by a multi-lingual guide in English and Russian.
- Choose at least 24 hour before tour departure an option with free hotel pick-up, which starts approx. 45 min prior to departure.
- Please note that you will cover approx. 600 km. by motorway and Alpine roads at this day. It is approx. 7,5 hours drive with short breaks. You will spend approx. 20 minutes in Ort castle, max. 3 hours in Hallstatt, 15 minutes in Traunkirchen, 2 stops on the highway for coffee break.
- Since most places don’t accept cards in Hallstatt, we advise you to bring some cash for boats and street food, as well as 50-cent coins for the toilets.
- IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SKYWALK VISITORS Skywalk lift began extensive renovation works and will remain in operation until 31 August 2025. Pease note: Skywalk viewpoint is no longer barrier-free accessible. Wheelchairs and pushchairs must be parked at the valley station and there are many steps to go from moutaint station to Skywalk view point. The Skywalk lift will be closed for renovation from Septemeber 2025 to June 2026

We traveled in a van with five other people. Our guide, Emil - I hope I spelled his name right - is a native of Vienna and very knowledgeable about the history and geography of the Salzkammergut region. We stopped for a coffee/restroom break on the way and again at a tiny castle, Schloss Ort, in Lake Traunsee. When we arrived at Hallstatt, we had a little over three hours to wander, shop, and have lunch. The boat wasn't operating because of the weather, and the tour operator refunded some of our money because of that. Emil helped keep the conversation interesting on the ride back, and we returned to Vienna in a timely fashion. I would book this tour with Emil again!

Sofia was very professional and well informed. Hallstatt was the main attraction, Salzburg on the other hand we found unnecessary but sure another place ticked on the list. Its amazing how much we covered in one day. We were very tired after. I d say the seats on the bus could have been more comfortable for the naps in between the stops as they were much needed taking into account an early start.

This is a long day but well worth it - 12 hours. The scenery surrounding the area is stunning. Our guide Alexander did a great job explaining some of Vienna’s history, architecture and cultural heritage. Hallstatt is very beautiful even on a grey rainy day, though we did have snow covered mountains to compensate. Overall if you want to see Hallstatt then I would recommend this tour.

Dasha was an excellent tour guide with lots of great stories. Overall a great trip, the boat ride was worth it and the views were amazing. The only downside was that there was no working bathroom on the bus, and the rest stops were were taken too were extremely expensive.

What a spectacular experience! Everything was smooth as far as hotel pickup and meeting back at the bus after stops. The guide was incredibly funny and smart and I learned a lot about the area that I never would have known. This was one of the best tours I’ve taken and I’d gladly do it again. Just perfect from start to finish! Playing the Sound of Music movie on the way back was so fitting and I loved it!

Hallstatt was beautiful. The guide was so-so - a lot of talking on the bus and many of the jokes weren’t funny. The first comfort stop was mayhem. We had 30 min and were told to grab a snack but we ended up waiting in line for 15 of that so it was stressful. We also couldn’t eat on the bus. I don’t feel like the boat ride was worth 25 euros and the drive back was really long. We also didn’t learn from the guide that the bathroom vouchers gave you a discount if you bought something. I’m glad I went but wished it had been shorter with less people and less talking. The music that was played was lovely though and the bus driver was incredible.

Long day but a great day. Hallstatt has incredible scenic beauty. We were so lucky to have huge, fluffy snowflakes!! Town looked like what you see in a snow globe. Sofia was our tour guide and was great.

This was a great trip to see Hallstatt, a picturesque town situated on a beautiful lake surrounded by snow capped mountains. Our guide, Sabrina was great and made sure we had plenty of time to explore the town. If you decide to take this tour I highly recommend taking the boat trip. It was a fun full day trip and I am so very glad that I added this to my travels in Austria.

It was a very long day so dress comfortably. Our guide was very knowledgeable and kept us engaged during the long drive to Hallstatt. She worked hard to keep everyone on time at all the stop points, though we did have a few people that didn't seem to own a watch. Fantastic day all round!

It is a long drive there but Hallstatt is beautiful. The scenery of the countyside along the way also gorgoleius, The trip there was very comfortable. Our Guide Sofia was excellent helpful and entertaining. Her recommendation where to eat spot on. Dragon the driver safe and steady, enjoyed the trio and lovely countryside.

My experience on the Hallstatt day trip was amazing! Our guide was Dasha, and she was so informative, humorous, and helpful. She facilitated an amazing experience. Hallstatt itself was incredibly gorgeous and the boat ride around the lake to see the sights was perfect. I highly recommend going in the fall when the leaves start to change. It was breathtaking!

Long day, not much to see. Hallstatt was just ok, not much to see in that town and nothing to brag about. Too much time in Hallstatt. The guy that picked us up from the hotel to the meeting place was driving recklessly and the car was full of cigarette smoke. Roman, the driver for the tour was the best driver. We felt very safe with Roman. The tour guide, Lilly was just ok. It is actually a very boring trip. I suggest to change it up a little, talk more about Austria history and some fun facts about the country and places. Play some music or do some games.

Driver picked up at the hotel punctually at 715am in small van. Was dropped off at albertina museum and stood in the cold for more than 30 mins before we were told to board the big bus. Could have allowed those who arrived first to board the big bus.

Sophia was our tour guide, she was very educational with the historical background of locations. Make sure to pack a snack and drinks as the stops can get expensive! Followed her advice for a smooth day and had a great time! Would recommend taking the boat ride at the end of your as it is a relaxing way to end the trip.
