Modern museum featuring painters from the late 1800’s and early 1900’s Many painters setting new trends, expressionism and modernism styles. Several galleries featuring Klint paintings. Extraordinary exhibition of Coubert paintings.

Nice way to spend an afternoon in Vienna

Calista_C, Mar 2026
This is a lovely museum and well-curated. There was a lot to see and a lot of good information, but it was not overwhelming and it was easy to see everything in an afternoon. We booked through Viator just to ensure we would be able to get tickets at a time that worked for our schedule, but you may also be able to purchase tickets onsite during less busy seasons or days.

Do it..

Guri_B, Oct 2025
The Leopold Museum is amazing. The breadth and quality of artworks exhibition is fantastic. While building is functional, it's exterior is a bit cold. The interior is great, though.

Response from Host, Oct 2025

Thank you so much for your positive feedback! We're delighted that you enjoyed the Leopold Museum and its collections! We look forward to seeing you again soon.

Waste of good money

Sylvie_G, Feb 2024
The Leopold Museum did not honor the ticket you sent me. I had to buy a new ticket. They said I should have received a ticket from them.

Small museum

mirnaalfy, Dec 2021
Its not a big museum, could be seen im maximum 2 hours if your taking your time. Not many paintings by Klimt like i was hoping for, “life and death” being center of his exhibition in the museum. 2 floors of photos and museum store; 3 for artwork. But over all nice

We were not able to travel because of the Corona-measures.

Ludo_R, May 2020
We were not able to travel because of the Corona-measures and had to cancel our flight, hotel, taxi, parking and all concert and musea tickets. Unfortunately we did not manage to cancel the booking for the Leopold museum, because of internet-issues on the website. We hope that one day we will be allowed and able to travel again and we are looking forward to that. By all means the Leopold museum (and others) will be on our to-visit list.

Dommage que le personnel...

catherine_b, May 2023
Dommage que le personnel fasse toute une histoire pour une bouteille d' eau dans un sac a main. Heureusement dans les autres musées de Vienne ils sont beaucoup plus amicaux et accueillants

Décevant

philippe_M, Jul 2021
Décevant . Trop cher pour l’exposition. Tableau déprimants. On étouffe ! Il faudrait davantage varier les styles et adoucir cette austérité...
