Do NOT buy ticket thru Viator - you do NOT skip the line - you stand in a line to exchange your Viator Voucher for a ticket! (Buy direct from museum and they just scan you ticket!). Good museum with amazing art.
lots to see at this history museum. good way to spend a hot morning in Vienna; combination of different types of artefacts to see
Outstanding museum, self guided experience but you can get your own audio guide.
The art/ artifacts span from ancient times to more recent painters. Several art works were by artists we had never seen in person such as Ver Meer. The collection by Bruegel make visiting the museum a must. The art is presented beautifully and the building itself is stunning and something to see.
The Kunst Museum is a must. It houses artwork obtained through the years by the Hapburgs and is very worthwhile to see. I especially enjoyed seeing the fine porcelains.
Don't buy this ticket. It does not allow you to skip the line. You still have to stand in line with everyone else and the cashier will scan the barcode and give you the actual ticket to get into the museum. I went inside stood in line and had to go back outside to get the entrance ticket. My fault for not reading the reviews that warned of this. Luckily, I went on a weekday and there was no line outside.
The museum was awesome and a must see if you are in Vienna!
Very interesting and definitely worth doing. The rating is lower because of Viator being misleading, not because of the activity itself. Firstly, you must go to the ticket office and exchange your voucher for a ticket, which is not made clear on the booking. Secondly, the very polite and friendly ticket office advisor said Viator bookings are problematic for them because they can never offer “skip the line” and they’ve asked Viator to stop offering this but they continue to do so. We happened to go on a day when it wasn’t busy, so queues weren’t an issue, but this could be very frustrating if it was a busy day.
The museum is wonderful and I would definitely buy tickets before hand. The early ticket allows entry at opening time which allows you to view most of the exhibits before the crowds arrive.
There was no skip the line anything. We had to wait in a huge museum line only to be toldvww had to go exchange our "voucher" fir a real ticket and then had to line up at the ticket booth to do that and then again to get back in the entrance lineup. There was no indication from Viatour that we needed to exchange the voucher. There was no skip the line entrance area. Really annoying and false advertising.
I dunno if you should really call this a skip-the-line experience when you still have to fall in line to exchange the voucher for a ticket inside the museum. Anyway, the museum and the wonderful café inside made up for this small confusion.
Did not help us skip any line. Waited in the line only to get to check in and told that we had to go back outside and get paper tickets. Our vouchers did not count as tickets. So waited in three lines.
Unreasonable checked in, because the online ticket code doesn’t work, I have to change the another code to ticket center, that was unreasonable. Management was messing. There was no clear notice for that.
Superb museum & really interesting. Took 3.5 hours to walk around. Thoroughly enjoyed it & highly recommend this for any visit to Vienna.
You do not skip a line, you have to get in line. Because what you get from Viator is only a voucher. Then, you have to wait in line. To exchange the voucher for a ticket. Just buy a ticket at window, the lines are the same length
Museum was great. This ticket is a rip off. You don’t skip the line. You have to exchange this ticket for an actual ticket at the museum. Then wait in line.
Viator should provide additional instructions about the steps to gain entry with their Skip the Line tickets. When you arrive must go to a special booth to have Museum issue their entry tickets. Only then can you get in line.
There is no advantage to buying tickets ahead of time with Viator because you still have 2 lines to stand in to get a true ticket and to enter. Loved the museum though!
Tickets are misleading, there is no skip the line available, you have to queue. What’s more you have to queue twice, once to change your Viator ticket for a museum ticket and then again to enter the museum. Just get a ticket there, it’s cheaper and and easier
The museum is very impressive itself, beautiful building and the collection as well! really enjoyed this museum
“Skip the line” was misleading because the thing we purchased from Viator was actually a voucher, not a ticket. We still had to wait in a line and we did not save a bit of time because of the time we wasted in line to go in and then finding out we were not in possession of tickets, we had to find a line separate from the line to buy tickets to get our vouchers exchanged for tickets. Our friends who had not purchased anything from Viator got in at the same time we did with less hassle.
The voucher will allow you to skip the normal line. You will need to first exchange the ticket with the voucher office. It would be better to purchase the ticket online directly with the official site
This didn't skip any line, you had to stand in line to change the viator ticket to the museum ticket and you still had to stand in line to enter.
Very interesting, thought it was better than the British museum, collections on Egypt were outstanding
Amazing museum, takes about 2 hours minimum. Make sure you exchange your vouchers at the “Group bookings” kiosk outside.
Museum was beautiful - lots to see. I thought viator sent me the actual ticket but it was only a voucher and I was denied entry until I got the actual ticket. The line for people with vouchers was much smaller than the line for people buying tickets.
Go early, afternoon became very crowded.
Fantastic art museum, gorgeous architecture with a wonderful little restaurant in a stunning environment. The collection is vast, could have spent several days there.
It does not skip the line, it makes you go to the line twice, this is not tickets, this is voucher that you can have to go through group ticket line to exchange for ticket
I found it out only when go to the ticket line and was rejected entry and was asked to go to group line AGAIN.
When at group line for tickets, they don't even know what Viator tickets are, the cost for my Viator tickets were $47 and change in USD, if I have not purchased this, I would have spend $42 in EUROS so basically the same.
Again, it does not skip the line, if you believes it it will make you go to the line twice.
Booked skip line tour. Actually second in line got in with a voucher but had to go back to the ticket office and redeem voucher. Ended up in a long line waiting to get in. I recommend just buying tickets directly from the museum. Will go directly to the tour or museum in the future. Unfortunately, I have more vouchers.
You don’t save any time by buying through Viator. You still have to go to the ticket window and exchange your voucher for a ticket in order to gain entry. Kind of misleading.
There is no “Skip the Line” which is very misleading. At the inside museum entry I was directed get in line at the ticket booth/kiosk for a voucher. The lines were long so I queued up like everyone else. Finally I got inside after waiting in line. Your advertising is unethical.
Beautiful collection and large numbers of items. Loved the museum . We spent four hours just in palace even then not enough. All sections were maintained nicely
