We found the check in location quickly from our cruise ship. We had to wait about 20 minutes for our water taxi to arrive. We were the only two in our water taxi and it was such a fun way to arrive into venice! We took lots of pictures of the ride. We got dropped off at St. Mark's square and had a short walk to our hotel. I would highly recommend this water taxi transfer from the cruise port!

A disaster

This was a disaster. The office you sent me to, Alilaguna, was closed. The whole area was closed. I messaged your tour operator twice without ever the courtesy of a reply. There was no shared taxi, no nothing. I had to take the people-mover to Piazza Roma. I have copy of receipt. I AM REQUESTING A FULL REFUND OF MY $90 as there was no service as promised. Please check your sources to find out what happened to the service.

Tour operator did not show up nor respond to text and cellphone calls. We had difficulty finding other accommodations at an additional costs for a water taxi from Marrittima to our hotel. In discussions with Viator they refunded our money. But, I do these transfers with Viator to have a stress free experience in a place that I am not familiar with, especially Vience where transportation is more complicated.

Communication was only with Viator. The local contact did not answer calls or messages. Twice was given the specific meeting point for our water transportation and it was shut down with no staff at meeting point. Viator needs to be better about vetting their "suppliers". Being stuck with no transportation in Venice after several cruise ships docked was not a pleasant experience.

Untrue and stressful voucher-to-ticket instructions

The water taxi ride was great but the first part - to get to that point was extremely stressful. It appeared obvious to us that you’ve never had a person literally walk from the Cruise ship debarkation pier to attempt to turn the ‘voucher’ into ‘tickets’ for the water taxi. The voucher instructions as to how to acquire tickets were extremely vague and most importantly, they didn’t work. Specifically, we were instructed to go to the ticket office of Alilaguna between 7:00 am and 9:00 am. We were there at 8:00am-ish, but it was closed. We frankly thought we’d been ‘scammed’ by Viator. We had to ask about five people what to do and none of them knew. We took a chance and walked where many others were walking and there a lady ordered us a water taxi. So, please change your instructions accordingly and don’t tell people to go to Alilaguna. :-(

Delayed transfer.

We were on time. Poor signage where we we in line then told to transfer to another line and had to wait for them to open. Then we waited and waited for the boat. When it arrived we could not board until a late third party would finally get there for over a half hour. Poor communication. It was over an hour from when we got off the ship to when we could get onto the taxi. They did deliver us to our hotel though so thank goodness for that.

We prepaid this shared transfer and hoping to take the water taxi faster than the people who didn’t booked in advance. No, we still need to wait for an hour. It was so crowded and hot at the cruise port. So many ships were disembarked at the same time. People were waiting in long lines to buy their tickets. Thank God I found one window for the “Prepaid” tickets only. Check in was easy, but waiting to get on the boat with all 10 people was not so good. I would like to pay more to have a private transfer if my group is four or more people.

We checked at the information desk at the port and were directed to the far end. There was a line and things seemed a bit disorganized, but when our water taxi arrived it was full with passengers and luggage. We were the last off and the boat driver very courteous.

Terrible experience - Complete lack of information about what to do and where to go when we disembarked. When we found the ticket office (dragging our luggage around) he was vague and we waited for 2 hours with about 8 others in the cold blowing rain. When we finally were given some directions to the shared transfer boat, we were jammed in like sardines in a can with luggage balancing precariously, the boat driver hanging on so bags didn't topple into the canal.

Not very helpful on the desk, just pointed you to sit and wait. Eventually someone came and took us to the water taxi. To then be told there were too many of us, so we had to wait another 15-20 minutes for another taxi. Unorganized and unhelpful. Booked a private one to return as told many time the return comes late and you can miss your flight

A good transfer. We found the office quite easily at the cruise port in Venice but then had to wait quite a while about 30mins for our travel guide to arrive. After that we had a comfortable ride in a water taxi almost right to the Rialto Hotel, only had to take our bags over one bridge and then a few metres to the hotel. Pretty good service, would use it again.

I could recommend getting this transfer to anyone leaving the cruise ship. It made the trip to the hotel fun and enjoyable, and it gave you the true feeling of Venice. My first view of the Rialto Bridge and a gondola was from the water taxi. We were dropped off right at our hotel which was located on the Grand Canal. We were on the water taxi with one other couple.

When going to the boat for our transfer, our guide was a slender long haired brunette,, don't know her name but she walked so fast it was impossible for people to keep up! She NEVER slowed down even when my mother and I were way behind! She never took into consideration that we are all pushing luggage over pebbled walkways, up and down on curbs and sidewalks! I realized when she had the driver drop her off at a non passenger stop, it was all about her. She never said goodbye to anyone just got off the boat. Other guests had to tell her that she lost people by walking so fast! Totally unprofessional and rude not to keep track of her passengers

It was not as easy to find the correct line as I had anticipated. I kept looking for something that said Viator. I had to wait on the Alilaguna line right past the port exit to be told to go to a different Alilaguna line further from the port exit. Then I waited on another line to be told to wait on the line for shared water taxis. He accepted the Viator voucher quickly and then he had to wait to put a compatible taxi group together. That took about 15 more minutes. Then everything went smoothly.He even drew a little map of how to get to my hotel from the taxi stop. The price didn't seem too much lower than anyone else but they had to pay extra for luggage. If I had a clearer description of which line to join it would have been much better. There is a lot of confusion when so many disembark at the same time

This worked out very well as we were in the water taxi within 30 minutes of disembarking. The driver brought us to the hotel next to where we were staying closest he could legally park his boat. All went very well, polite and professional. I would use this service again if visiting Venice.

Fantastic service, reconfirmed the day before as our cruise ship was now arriving at San Basilio terminal and not the main Marittima terminal, staff were extremely helpful and ensured our taxi met us at San Basilio saving us a massive trek across the cruise terminal, they also were able to drop us directly at our hotel at San Clemente Palace, which is on an island, when I had originally assumed I would be dropped at San Marco where the hotels shuttle boat runs from, overall great service and good value for money.

Booth attendant was in a bad mood as all cruise ships came in at the same time and she was overrun with people and questions and was clearly not in the mood for it. Had to wait one hour until our boat was full which is a downfall. Otherwise quick and efficient trip to Venice from cruise ship. Taxi's were all booked so we were glad at least we had a ride already arranged as many were stuck at the cruise ship terminal without transportation as all was booked.
