- Drivers' licenses issued by countries not covered by the 1949 Geneva Convention (such as China, Indonesia, Mexico, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, etc.) are not permitted to drive in Japan
- Participants must carry their physical International Driving Permit (or for exceptional countries listed above that requires a Japanese translation, the physical domestic license + official translation) and physical passport
- Minimum age is 18 years
- Wear closed footwear. Skirts or long dresses are not advised.
- You MUST inform us if you have any level of hearing impairment or mobility impairment.

If you are planning to do Street Kart Akihabara, do yourself a huge favor and ask for Gyula as your guide. He made what was already an exciting activity into the absolute highlight of our trip to Tokyo!
From the moment we arrived, Gyula brought incredible energy. He was incredibly funny, kept us laughing, and made the entire group feel like family.
Epic Photo Shoots: Driving through the streets of Tokyo dressed up in costumes is surreal, and Gyula made sure we have the memories to prove it. He took tons of fantastic, high-quality photos of us on the road that we will treasure forever.
I was a bit nervous about how my mom would handle the experience, but Gyula went above and beyond. He took special care of her, constantly checking in to ensure she was comfortable, confident, and okay every single step of the way. His kindness was truly heartwarming.
His safety briefing and driving instructions were incredibly clear. We always felt secure and protected under his watch, which allowed us to relax and have the absolute best, most memorable time.
Thank you, Gyula, for taking such amazing care of us (especially Mom!) and giving us a core memory of Tokyo! 10/10 highly recommend!

The go-kart tour itself was great, and driving through Tokyo was an unforgettable experience. Unfortunately, the owner’s behaviour left a bad impression. He was rude and pressured all three of us into purchasing additional insurance that we did not want. Although he claimed it wasn’t compulsory, he made it clear that we couldn’t proceed without paying for it, so we felt we had no real choice. We all ended up paying because of this pressure. Optional extras should remain optional, and customers should never feel forced into buying them. Better transparency and customer service would have made this an excellent experience.

So much fun!
Dom was our guide on the road and he was fun to ride with and shared lots of great info as we toured the city.
The communication before the drive is very streamlined and efficient, check in is a quick and easy process, and the drive is fun.
I would do it again.

A must-do experience! My family and I had always seen these go-karting experiences online, and it did not disappoint! Most would opt to do it in a more central area, like Shibuya, but I am so happy we did it here in Akihabara. It's definitely still the city, so you get the bright lights and neon feel, but it's less crowded and more open, so you get to focus more on the driving. In other words, we were moving! You wouldn't think it, but those karts can get fast, so be warned! We are definitely doing this again if we come back!

The experience is unique and you wouldn’t be blamed from feeling overwhelmed at the thought of driving around Tokyo, but our guide David was incredible not only at keeping us safe and taking loads of cool photos, but he also gave us confidence while driving the karts. 100% recommended.

I wanted to do one without wearing costumes so selected for this tour. The other members of the group were a little annoying as they couldn’t drive very well and we kept stopping and starting. They eventually got moved to the front but they were still terrible drivers. Just made the experience a little annoying.

Fantastic experience getting to drive on actual Tokyo roads while wearing Olaf and Snorelax onesies in a Go-Kart! Our tour guide, Dom, did an awesome job! Definitely make sure to check into the IDP restrictions for your country before purchasing tickets! But that process for us in USA went smoothly.

This was the most fun activity that we did!! It was awesome to go kart around the streets! We were in the Ahkihabra area, but saw so much more!!! Our guide, Aaron, was great!! Very clear on rules and instructions and truly patient in the few times I got distracted by the amazing architecture and lagged behind a smidge. He also took some awesome pics that we will always have!

This experience was a lot of fun. All very well organized. I was a little scared going into the tour but quickly realized it was totally safe as long as you follow directions from your guide. Our guide, Sam, was amazing and very nice. Highly recommend

GET AN IDP (INTERNATIONAL DRIVERS PERMIT BEFORE YOU DO THIS!). They will not let you go.
It's a bit stressful at first with the safety briefing but it's much smoother once you get out there.
Staff and our guide, Sam, were amazing! Japan doesn't work on tips, but they are appreciate (and well deserved) by the time you finish.
You definitely get your money's worth!

This is an awesome and unique way to get around the Akihabara district of Tokyo. Perfect for a little dose of adrenaline during your visit. Special shout-out to Johnny, our excellent multi-tasking lead driver - he made sure we had a safe, fun drive and took some amazing pictures to capture the experience! They add lots of special touches to make this tour memorable. And the customer service is top-notch - they went the extra mile to comprehensively answer our general questions about getting around Tokyo for our first time here. Can't recommend enough!

Last year un March 2024 me & my husband travelled to Japan for the first time and booked this tour with this company. Mark was our guide then. We had such a great time that we decided to booked this tour again this year with the same company as last year.
This time my husband & I travelled with my mother and our guide was Johnny. Johnny was amazing as well. The tour did not disappoint. I had an even more amazing time than last year because this was my second time. Last year I was a little nervous because I did not know the road and although I still had fun I could not enjoy as much as I did this time. Since it was the same company and I already knew was to expect I enjoyed it a lot more. It was sooo much fun. My mother said she enjoyed it a lot too.
The tour is very fun and the guides are always paying attention to you and making sure your okay so that way you can enjoy your tour and views.
This is a must! If you are going to Japan. You will not regret.

This review is for last year March 2024.
This year 2025 was my second time traveling to Japan and since last year I had a great time in this tour I decided to book with the same company but I just noticed that I never posted my review last year in Viator.
I felt so bad that the review was never posted, the name of our tour guide last year was Mark.
Mark was incredibly thoughtful and attentive throughout the tour. He always made sure to asks us in every stop if everything was okay, and although not part of the tour be even made a brief stop in Shibuya, took pictures of us and even asks us if the speed was okay and comfortable. He always kept looking for us throughout the tour to ensure everyone was okay and having a good time. The tour is very fun, we did it at night and the views were amazing
Mark did a tremendous job, so much so, that this year we booked again the tour with this same company.
