- You MUST have an International Driving Permit issued in the format of the 1949 Geneva Convention and driving license from your country of origin and passport. EXCEPT for participants with licenses issued in Switzerland, Germany, France, Taiwan, Belgium, or Monaco. In which case you will need a Japanese translation of your license from the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF/Online Application for Japanese Translation) and your own driving license. IDPs MUST be in booklet form, not in paper or A4 form.
- Please note that International Driving Permits MUST be issued by your countries approved issuer. Some common examples are; Australia – AAA . USA – AAA or AATA. UK – AA or RAC. Canada – CAA
- International driving permits that are issued under the Vienna Convention 1968 are NOT accepted in Japan.
- Our cancellation policy is below;
- Cancel up to 24 hours before the tour start time for a full refund. If you cancel within 24 hours of the tour start time the paid amount will not be refunded.
- If your tour is canceled due to bad weather, you will be eligible for a full refund. Or you have the opportunity to reschedule depending on availability.
- Due to the nature of operating mechanical parts, when we reach the maximum capacity of booking we may need to amend or adjust bookings depending on kart availability.
- It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure they have the correct/valid documents for driving in Japan, failure to do so will result in denial of participation without the possibility of a refund. If you are not sure, please reach out to us directly and we can help to check if you have valid documents.

We had a great time. We felt safe. The location was a little challenging to find, even with GPS. The costumes made the entire experience a little extra fun.

Very nice Tour through Shinjuku and Shibuya. The carts are new, the whole experience felt very safe. We had the guide in a leading van and a van behind our group.
A super fun way to experience the city! We were a group of 7 adults, all of varying ages and everyone had a fantastic time. The operators were fantastic to deal with. Would recommend!

We had an absolute blast hurtling through the streets of Tokyo. Don't think just go do it.
There was a great emphasis on safety but not to much that it was a hinder our enjoyment and at no time was I nervous, even when my cart stalled at one set of lights.
I cannot recommend Japan cart highly enough. It's was a great experience, looking like a cartoon character driving through this busy busy metropolis what's not to love.
Safe and fun ride, with proper instructions at the start, one person riding in the front of the group and one at the end. It was the highlight of the day for my sons!
Plus they took lots of photos and gave us photos in the end.
My sister and I did the experience and had a great time. The go carts were safe and the tour guide was excellent and driving through Shibuya crossing was amazing
This is a must activity when visiting Japan. My brothers and I had a blast. Make sure you get your international drivers permit.
A great, fun activity which would definitely not be legal in the UK!!!! You get to drive the streets of Tokyo in a go kart, escorted by Japan Kart staff to keep things safe. It’s not an opportunity for sightseeing as you need to focus on what you’re doing. You also don’t get a running commentary to tell you where you are. Photos and complementary snacks are a nice touch. Staff were accommodating, friendly and welcoming.
Just a whole lot of fun. Staff were great and took heaps of photos along the way, then shared them with us at the end. The karts were well maintained and instructions were clear so felt very safe. We had a lead and trailing vehicle so were well looked after on the road.

This was a very fun experience! Yes it’s a go cart so you aren’t able to go that fast but you get to wear costumes!! I would’ve taken the longer tour if it wasn’t already booked up.
Best experience and amazing time in Tokyo. Started with a smooth check in, costume change and safety briefing to an incredible time on the road, everything was top notch.

Really fun, a little crazy out on the streets with all of the traffic, but guides were great and felt safe.
The worst experience in Tokyo stay away from this place don’t ruin your trip like we did.
2 uber driver could not find this place finally a taxi driver was able to locate but got there 15 min. Very rude employee
What an amazing experience I had riding through parts of Tokyo especially since it’s my very first time in Japan. It felt good being famous for short period of time as bystanders and onlookers whether it was locals or tourists, they were waving at us taking out their phones and taking photos of us. Riding through the busy part of Shibuya. Our tour guides go in two vans; one in the front and another in the back of the line. They have you covered in case you get separated from the group. Overall, it was an awesome and fun experience. I highly recommend doing this.
The crew did an amazing job leading our group of 10. Everyone was super polite and very professional! I think our go-karts were the best looking ones on the street!!!! All the pictures turned out amazing!
Japan Kart was so much fun. I was a little nervous riding in the streets of Tokyo in a go cart but it was exciting and the staff was good at putting me at ease. I highly recommend this experience.

You should try to arrive about 10min early and have all of your documents on hand such as ID, passport, and international drivers permit.
The staff cheated me took the money and wouldn’t let me ride be careful they might scam you read the fine print

Thoroughly enjoyed our activity with Japan Kart and can recommend them. Good focus on safety and lots of fun. Crossed the scramble crossing twice and visited several locations of interest.
Safety was the main concern. At first we were not sure how this would turn out but after 5-10 minutes on the road it was easy and fun! The team was very informative and ensured the group was safe. There’s a pilot car in front and back so you are totally safe to enjoy!
It was such a fun experience, a must do when you are in Tokyo! Highly recommend!
