Overview
Experience Japan like a local, far from the crowded and usually frequented places. Focus on relaxation and well-being without neglecting scenery and culture. We will pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Hakone, one of Japan's most beautiful hot-spring towns. From there we will take scenic roads only, bringing you to magnificent panoramas of Mt Fuji, Hakone, the Sea of Japan, lakes, and temples.
Once the hunger settles in, we will reach a special place where you will be able to experience delicious authentic Japanese cuisine (no bento box on a plastic table, except if you want to, of course) and indulge in some of the region's best onsen.
After this relaxing time, we will once again take the road and finish our day at an incredible nearby museum, open air with a beautiful garden if the weather permits, or mesmerizing architecture if it rains.
As this is a private tour (with a private guide), you can tailor every step and detail to your preferences, or leave it up to us.

We had Evan who was an incredible tour guide and the trip wouldnât have been the same without him - hakone was beautiful with its shrines and more rural, Tokyo getaway charm and we got ourselves a private onsen to have that experiences which was lovely and the hakone Gods blessed us with a great day so got to take several beautiful pictures of Mt Fuji. Loved the experience would definitely do it again.

Read the fine print if you wish to cancel due to poor weather conditions like we did they donât refund you. We had to go on the tour we saw lots of rain and fog, got drenched too. Our tour guide was lovely but Iâd never book through this platform I have tried for two days to escalate this matter with no success

Amazing day with a friendly and kind driver. He took us to all the places we wanted to and even added an extra stop at outlet mall when we asked for it. The car was immaculate and very comfortable. I would highly recommend the tour to anyone who wants to be in control of their timings for the day and see things without the bus crowds.

It is an excellent opportunity to get a glimpse of life outside the big cities. The highlight, of course, is the whole onsen experience. Joshua, as a guide and driver, was more than excellent. Knowledgeable, polite, friendly, and flexible with our preferences

We had a wonderful day with JP! The whole day was perfect... From pickup in a really comfortable luxury van to great stops for Mt Fuji photos to Sake at an Inn built in the 1600's. We went to a beautiful shrine in the forest and we had a wonderful experience at an Onsen with fabulous lunch! JP was both very knowledgeable and entertaining. The day way fantastic and I enjoyed the beautiful scenery, food, and company. I did not want to go to the onsen, so my guide Cyril, found alternative locations that satisfied my request to maximize our time outdoors. I learned quite a bit about history, culture, and geography. The day was absolutely memorable!

What a fantastic day with Darell on our Hakone trip. We had a wonderful time seeing Mt. Fuji, Hakone Shrine, a traditional tea house that has been run by the same family for over 400 years as well as a visit to an Onsen. Darell was an amazing guide and driver, filling us in on all the history along the way and was fluent in Japanese and English. Highly recommended.

Our tour was amazing. Lucas, our Driver and guide, was prompt with pickup and continued that throughout the day. We started at Mt Fuji and spectacular views and ended with an Onsen in Hakone before driving back to Tokyo. We couldn't have a=had a better experience. We were never rushed and always allowed to experience the locations we visited with at our pace. The vehicle was amazing and comfortable and we'd highly recommend booking this tour again

Lucas was a fantastic guide and driver for a fun day trip from Tokyo! So glad we booked this as I donât think we would have been able to navigate the trains and buses on our own. Lucas was so friendly, knowledgeable and a great driver.
We had spectacular views of Mt Fuji, learned some history and culture while visiting the temples, enjoyed a great lunch. I would highly recommend the Open Air museum it was fantastic! We also enjoyed the onsens at sunset. Really fun day!

We had Evan as our wonderful tour guide. Despite a very cloudy/foggy day, we had a blast seeing sites in Hakone and up on the viewing areas on the mountain roads. He kept the conversation flowing, and focused not only on history but on items or sites of interest to our family. He took us to hidden gems, and the tour included not only the Hakone shrine, but also stepping through time on a part of the preserved centuries old Tokaido Road and the military gate in Hakone, a tea house, and then we rounded out the day with a traditional onsen and lovely dinner. An unforgettable experience.

Elie was very accommodating when I contacted him with concern about the weather. He allowed us to change our booking to a day when the weather was predicted to be better. Our guide, Lenny was the perfect one for us. He had a lot in common with members of our group and the conversation during the drive to Hakone was great! He was also a safe driver, smoothly navigating the tight, winding roads. He gave us restaurant and shopping suggestions from a localâs perspective. He gave us flexibility to choose what we wanted to do. We started the day by getting a cloudy view of Mount Fuiji. Since it was a cloudy, rainy day, we didnât bother trying to go get a closer view: visiting a beautiful shrine/temple Lenny also took us to a traditional tea house where we tried mochi snacks and different beverages. For the final stop, we were all a bit apprehensive about going to an onsen for the first time, so he gave us an alternative. However he said that no one had ever said they regretted experiencing the onsen. We ultimately decided to try it and he was right! We didnât regret going. The food that we ate there was delicious too, one of our daughterâs favorite meals in Japan. We were able to get some relaxation and rejuvenation after a long HOT day at Tokyo Disney Sea the day before. Our skin also felt great from the natural mineral water. Thanks for a great getaway from Tokyo, Lenny, and for the wonderful suggestions you gave us. We had an awesome time!

We had an amazing time in Hakone! Our guide, Evan, was absolutely wonderful. Even before the trip began, he prepared us with helpful information. During the trip he told us so many fascinating history and stories. He is also an excellent and safe driver.
We are a family of six, including two elder members, and both Elli (the owner) and Evan carefully planned the tour with our needs in mind. They made sure everything was tailored to us so that we could experience all the sights we wanted to see without worry.
At the end of the day, we were delighted to enjoy tea at a traditional tea house that is over 400 years old, run by the 14th generation of owners. It was such a special and memorable moment. My parents had always dreamed of visiting Hakone, and this tour truly turned that dream into the perfect experience.

We had an outstanding tour of Hakone with Elie. Although the fog prevented us from seeing Mt. Fuji, the experience was excellent from start to finish. Elie was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and personable, making the day both enjoyable and informative.

We had a great experience we Elie during our Hakone tour. He was very responsive and proactive, knowledgeable and extremely patient. He even provided us with extra time, even tough he was aware that it would cause for a longer commute back due to traffic. The sites are out of this world and the experience was amazing. Luca was our guide for the day and was very kind and informative about the temple we saw near Lake Ashi. He was very flexible about the schedule, as we wanted to skip the onsen to be able to see the Pola and Open Air Museums. I HIGHLY recommend making time for the museums, as they were wonderful. Lucas was so kind and even waited for us outside the Open Air Museum with umbrellas as it started to rain. All in all, this was a nice last day of our trip, and again can't recommend seeing the museums enough!

We booked this private Hakone day tour hoping for a scenic and cultural escape from Tokyo, but the experience was underwhelming and overpriced. The stops were minimal and uninspired: 10 minutes at a 7-Eleven, a short shrine visit with steep stairs (not accessible for older travelers), a quick photo stop by the lake, and an onsen visit. We spent the majority of the day in transit, with little to see or do. We would have been better off spending another day in Tokyo.
Our driver, Ahmed, was professional and polite. But this tour is a lot of driving to nowhere. The onsenâsupposedly the highlightâwas pretty meh. We struggled to arrange basic services like massages due to language barriers, despite assurances that staff spoke English. We decided to head back an hour early so we could actually do things in Tokyo.
This was the least enjoyable day of our trip. While the weather canât be helped, driving up to a fogged-in observatory was a waste of time. For the high cost of this tour, the value simply wasnât there. Not close. We would not recommend this tour.

The convenience store stop was made at the request of a member of your group. The shrine you visited offers fully accessible routes, including ramps and vehicle access, and the onsen you selected, at your own request, was one known for its English-speaking staff and strong reputation (Hakone Yuryo). We also note that our guide offered to complete the final cultural stop (the Open Air Museum), which was declined by your party.
Most importantly, we kindly emphasize that we take all guest feedback seriously, but reserve the right to respond when reviews misrepresent the nature of the experience we offered. We booked an all-day tour with Elie to visit the Hokone area and hopefully see Mt Fuji. Although the weather didnât cooperate on the Mt Fuji viewing, Elie couldnât have been more helpful before, during, and after the tour. We truly enjoyed the drive, learning about Japanese history, culture, and specifically about the Hakone region. We stopped at some beautiful viewpoints and when we asked about hikes, we were offered the opportunity to shift the schedule so that we could get a short hike in if we wanted. Elie recommended a historic tea house that we loved and the onsen that he chose for us was welcoming and relaxing. Overall, we had a great day and will surely seek Elieâs guidance for future trips.
