My girlfriend is an anime lover, so I booked this anime tour about a month before our trip as a gift for her. We were lucky to have Maya-san as our tour guide. I’ve got to say, it was such a cool experience! The tour was super informative, with the pamphlet provided by Japan Awaits and the explanations from Maya-san.
I know some anime movies, but I didn’t care much about the history of anime or how they became such famous works. After this tour, I learned so many exciting facts about the anime world and how much the industry has evolved over the years. Most importantly, my girlfriend really enjoyed the tour and said she loved every moment of seeing those anime-related things.
The highlight for both of us, though, was meeting the animator, Obata-san. He was so attentive and patient, even with someone like me who isn’t great at drawing. We felt really comfortable learning from him. If you’re an anime fan or just curious about the art behind it, this is definitely worth checking out.

Seiko our tour guide was outstanding! She was thorough and very accommodating. We could tell she loves what she does. Her excitement and enthusiasm really made our experience great. Learning to draw characters was one of the highlights of our tour. Definitely recommend it.

We visited the Suginami anime museum and a studio and learned some of the basics of drawing Manga characters. The tour guide was very motivated and explained everything to us. Very good tour for Anime and Manga fans. Wish it was longer.
