Great vacation climbing experience

Beautiful setting, different type of climbing (at least for us), and an excellent guide (Mario). I think it would be enjoyable for all experience and ability levels especially those looking for casual, no pressure, climbing while on a non-climbing dedicated vacation.

Was so much fun!! Mario took us to some great routes with enough progression and challenges :) learnt a lot and felt super safe throughout, thank you! My brother does a lot of climbing and bouldering at uni - and he’s already booked in with Mario again in Cascais :)

Jose is a fantastic guide and climbing with him in Sintra was a big highlight of my trip. He is inquisitive, perceptive, kind, and simply… fun to climb with! As a fairly new (less than 1 year) female climber from the states, I was a bit nervous to try out climbing in Portugal. Jose made it accessible, comfortable, and challenging (yes, thank you for pushing me to lead that 5.9 and attempt that top rope 5.10b!). He is open to share his knowledge of the history and culture of Portugal, passion for climbing, and has excellent restaurant recommendations. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
