非常令人難忘的8日旅行!! An Unforgettable 8-Day Tour with the Best Guide, Thor!

Minhan_C, Oct 2025
This 8-day tour was absolutely worth it, and I highly recommend it to everyone. Our guide, Thor, was the best. Before driving to each attraction, he would always introduce relevant information about the site. The accommodations throughout the entire trip were very comfortable, and the restaurants he took us to were delicious, especially the pizza we had for one of the meals—it was truly amazing. We are from Taiwan, and English is not our native language; we can't say we are fluent. However, our guide made sure to repeat important information—like meeting times, safety precautions, the best viewing spots at attractions, and the best seats on the whale-watching boat—in simple English for us. Even with limited English, we didn't miss any crucial details and could still fully enjoy the entire journey. The time we spent at each stop was very flexible and ample. Whether you're someone who loves to take lots of photos or an older traveler who needs more time to walk, there was plenty of time to explore. The other tour members, though from different countries, were all wonderful people. We would wake each other up to see the Northern Lights and share the best angles for taking pictures. All in all, I'm so glad we had the wonderful fortune to meet such an amazing guide and a great group of people.

Excellent 8-Day Tour!!

Karen_M, Oct 2025
Excellent tour. We got to see and do so many things (waterfalls, lava fields, seals, whales, horseback riding…) and our driver/tour guide Heidrun was the BEST!!! She taught us so much about Iceland’s history, culture, and geography. She is a logistics magician-always keeping us informed and consulting with passengers about preferences. She went out of her way to ensure the itinerary met our wishes. She helped us have a fabulous northern lights experience. We had a mix of country guest house accommodations and smaller city hotels. All were clean and comfortable. Mini bus technically can fit 18 but 15 is realistically the most that would be comfortable for an 8-day tour (We had 13 for most of our trip.) It was fun being among people from different countries in our group. Everyone was friendly and we made a What’s App group chat to share photos and information so recommend downloading/making What’s App account before leaving your country. We did quite a few grocery store stops to buy snacks and food to make for ourselves along the way since it is CRAZY expensive to eat out in Iceland. And some of the country guesthouses don’t have restaurants but you can use their microwaves etc. We brought a foldable grocery bag that came in handy but evidently a lot of people collect the paid grocery bags from their travels so you can do that too.

Have good breakfast...

KwokKheong_L, Sep 2025
Have good breakfast before start of day Also have a good guide and driver Name is Gilfi and he is funny patient and helpful Ever ready to assist the elderly and ladies with the luggage

Great guides. Beautiful country. Bad corporate experience.

Kathryn_C, Sep 2025
We’d give this tour 5 stars, but dealing with the provider, Troll Expeditions, was frustrating enough to remove a star. Our guides and itinerary were great, especially Thor who we were with for 6 days. Accommodations were generally fine. We did sign up and pay for the 8-day tour as titled here, but Troll ended up putting us on two 1-day tours plus a 6 day tour (notifying us 72 hours before we started) and then insisted we had signed up for the 6-day. They were not responsive when I sent them copies of their communications stating something was included in the changed itinerary and said we needed to pay for it. Being passed from guide to guide to driver to guide at the beginning was disconcerting (once we were dropped off in a cafe in the middle of nowhere and told someone would come fetch us to take us to our next lodging). In summary, the itinerary, guides and experiences were all we hoped. Iceland is an amazing country and we enjoying seeing major sites and hidden extras. The scheduling snafu/ company attitude is our only complaint. Troll is a major Icelandic tour operator and should be capable of delivering tours as booked.

Wonderful trip visiting...

Wenhan_C, Aug 2025
Wonderful trip visiting scenic waterfalls, glaciers, mountain ranges and unique geological formations and learning about local history, culture, and people.

Incredible Experience

Hope_v, Jun 2025
What an amazing experience!!! Iceland was everything I hoped it would be! This tour was perfect! We got to see so many incredible sights all around the country. Everything was planned for us and we sat back and relaxed while our tour guide drove us over tiny roads, occasionally covered with sheep and through Iceland’s wild and fast changing weather. The hotels were all great. Simple, but clean and comfortable with helpful and friendly hosts. Our guide Johan was the best! He got us from place to place safely and on time, made sure everyone on the tour felt welcomed and included and kept us laughing. Highly Troll Tours and this 8 day tour to everyone!

Fantastic trip, well...

Fantastic trip, well thought out travel plans and sightseeing, beautiful country, great tour guides. Overall a great way to see the country, you won't be disappointed if you love nature.

Iceland

Alexandra_I, Feb 2025
I just completed an amazing 8-day tour of Iceland with 2 kids, and it was an experience of a lifetime! Our guide, Pauli, was fantastic—his great sense of humor and deep knowledge kept us entertained throughout the trip. The views were absolutely mesmerizing, from stunning waterfalls to breathtaking landscapes. Covering 2,200 km, every stop was a new adventure. Pauli’s captivating stories brought the sights to life, making the experience even more memorable. If you're planning a trip to Iceland, this tour is a must—thank you, Pauli, for an unforgettable week!

Great Tour with Many Experiences around Iceland

CheryllM_M, Jan 2024
Our 8 day tour around Iceland was great in every aspect. Our guide/driver Erla (pronounced Ella) was excellent, very upbeat, a safe driver in all kinds of weather conditions and shared great information about each area we saw. She created a What’sApp group to keep us informed about times and restaurants, etc. The Glacier Hike was challenging (70 years old and oldest by far of our group of 17) but Andre (sp?) and Adam were there to help all along the way! Too much to write about everything, but we are so glad to have experienced Iceland!

Loved it

Louie_H, Nov 2023
Iceland is amazing and this 8 day tour gives a great introduction to the sights. We had a super funny and chill guide, Palli. He made sure we had plenty of food and batbrkkn breaks. Loved his stories. Luckily we also had a fun and punctual group of travelers. Loved the ice cave, vok baths, and whale watching. We got to see the northern lights as well! The hotels were good except for the one in Akureyri (Hótel Norðurland) which had dirty/stinky rooms and one of our rooms with non-functional heating (yikes, brrr).

Awesome trip - perfect for seeing all of Iceland

Stephen_H, Oct 2023
We did this trip in mid-October. Tour guides were Dagur (6 days) and Jon (2days). The 2 guides were awesome. They work for Troll of Iceland and are locals. We rode in a small mini-bus that holds 20 people. 6 days we had 18 tourists. We had 7 for the final 2 days. 4 Americans, 2 from Australia and the remainder from various Asian countries. You drive the Rim Road in a counter-clockwise direction. In October we had, for the 8 days, rain, high winds, snow and sun. Bring plenty of clothes and layers. You stay at 6 different hotels for the 7 nights. They all are mid-level with free continental breakfast and private bath. All are centrally located in the towns. On this tour, you will see all of the major tourist attractions. You see awesome waterfalls each day. Also, volcanoes, geysers, whales, reindeer, hot geothermal pools, black sand beaches. Iceland is incredibly beautiful and this is the best way to see it all. The guides are very experienced and because of weather, had to re-arrange “on the fly”. They did it well and kept the tour on a very nice pace. I would highly recommend.

Beautiful Iceland

Thomas_T, Oct 2023
Iceland is such an amazing country! My wife and I have just came back from the 8-Day Small Group Tour Around Iceland in early October and were impressed by the spectacular scenery such as the djúpalónssandur beach, Hraunfossar Lava Waterfall and many glaciers. Our tour guide, Erdla, was the best tour guide we ever had. She was very helpful, friendly and went above and beyond to make sure everyone in the group had the best experience in this Iceland tour.

Best trip ever

Hannah_R, Aug 2023
What an unforgettable trip! I have been on many tours but this has to be the best one yet! Our guide Gylfi was the most amazing host and the best person to spend 8 days driving around Iceland with! We chose this itinerary because it seemed to cross off most of the things we wanted to see on our list but we got WAY more than we thought and experienced even more than we expected! You will see everything from waterfalls to glaciers, caves to lava fields, small towns and beaches, seals, puffins, and horse riding. I can’t rave about it enough! We had such a fun and satisfying 8 days and I would definitely do this again if given the chance! If I could give this more than 5 stars I would.

Amazing in every way!

William_C, Apr 2023
Every turn and every stop was an adventure. The waterfalls, the mountains the glaciers the excursions were all amazing!

Overall, it is still worth the experience once in a lifetime

BeeHong_O, Jan 2023
The most memorable part has to be the 3-hr Glacier Hike even though it was not easy. A bit disappointed with the ice cave as it was smaller than expected; wasted the journey to the North as there was nothing much to see esp after the whale-watching was cancelled (& refunded). I was also disappointed that we didnt get to see the Londrangar Basalt Cliffs even though it is in the itinerary. However I must say David is a good guide, we had some "accidents" but he remains calm and upbeat. Maybe this shortcomings migt bring me back to Iceland in summer !

Amazing Troll tour of Iceland with Thales!

Joseph_S, Nov 2022
We couldn't speak more highly of the 8-day Iceland adventure we just experienced, and our tour guide, Thales, was a big part of it. He took us to all the well-known spots (Golden Circle, South Coast, etc) but also bonus sites when time permitted that really gave the trip a personal touch. Would highly recommend this tour.

Awesome experience!

Lira_V, Oct 2022
It was the best experience of Iceland we had. We couldn’t ask for a better tour guide, Johann is hands down the best tour guide there is. We saw Northern lights, tour the most scenic falls, caves, lagoon, hot springs, glacier, light house to name a few. I highly recommend this tour to anyone planning to visit Iceland, Troll expeditions did a good job.

Around Iceland

SHULAN_C, Sep 2022
The winter tour around Iceland with our tour guide, Gylfi, is an amazing and unforgettable experience. He is experienced, knowledgeable and very helpful. It is a well organized and action packed tour. Met some great people on the tour and seen some of the most beautiful sites. From daily activities to rest stops and lodgings, they were all well planned out by Troll. Truly enjoyed it and thank you!

Epic. Must do.

Cami_S, Sep 2022
This is a FANTASTIC tour. You will see volcano craters, waterfalls, lava fields, Northern Lights (Sept-March),, mountains, Game of Thrones film sites, geysers, boiling sulfur pots, horseback riding, continental divide, whale watching, ice caves, glacier climbing, seal and puffin watching, and the list goes on and on. Every day you will wake up and get on the bus and not believe what this beautiful country offers. You do need to be pretty fit to take this tour. You will walk 2-4 miles daily if you want to see all the waterfalls, photo stops, etc. There are steep slopes with no stairs or hand rails at several of the stops. But you can stay on the bus or at a convenience store if you want to sit out. The guides will accommodate you. Bring over the ankle boots for the glacier climb, or you will have to rent them. We went in Sept and saw Northern Lights most nights. Bring a hat, gloves, and scarf. Dress in layers. A waterproof coat is a must. You will eat at convenience stores a lot where the choices are burgers, hot dogs, and fish and chips, but you can buy fruit and groceries in most stops as well. You are in a different hotel every night except the last two nights where you stay in the same hotel. Bring a chamois towel to dry off after waterfalls and the Vok baths. The bus has wifi and a USB charging port. The schedule most days is 8-5. Breakfast is included and was wonderful at all the hotels. A few of the hotels had a lot of stairs. You will be carrying bags up two flights of stairs. Pack light-small carry on and a backpack, because you will be carrying it on and off the bus with you daily. The guides are terrific and go out of their way to really welcome you and make sure you are enjoying the tour. Highly recommend. Life changing.

Nice experience

Ivan_T, Feb 2020
Really nice experience, well organized, clean bus , nice hotel with good breakfasts, really enjoy my trip, David our driver and guide was really good

Simplemente... espectacular.

LuisFernando_L, Nov 2022
