I will recommend this to anyone visiting. Nuno was an incredible guide! My best friend is interested in having her wedding in the Douro Valley so he pointed out some excellent venues along the way. The wineries we visited were incredible, beautiful, and charming. Got lots of Instagrammable moments along the way.

We had a great guide in Huye(sp?). He was very knowledgeable and pleasant to be with. The first vineyard was great. The ownership has been the same family for 14 generations! They know their business and produce beautiful wines. Definitely a place to visit. The second vine was spectacular! It was a very high elevation with spectacular views. Lunch was served during the wine tasting. Spectacular wines!

Perfect Day in the Douro

Great opportunity to learn about the Douro Valley, and what makes it so special. We’ve been to Napa and Sonoma dozens of times, and were only looking for a romantic way to spend our anniversary. Pedro, our guide, saw to that, and also taught us more than we imagined about the Douro Valley’s unique climate, schist soil (if you can call it that) and the hard working growers. The visit to Amarante, the wine tasting, and Quinta visit, and the cruise on the river surpassed our expectations, and Pedro’s knowledge seemed bottomless. We highly recommend!

Beautiful tour! Our tour guides Alex and Fred were professional, knowledgeable and entertaining! Amarante is a beautiful town and the Quinta de Santa Julia was stunning. Were were served a fabulous lunch outside with a lovely view of the vineyards. We also met the chef and owner.

Amazing tour, well worth it!

We had an amazing time on our private tour. We were picked up right at our hotel and while the drive is long, we were entertained along the way. We also stopped to get treats and check out a local town. The two vineyards that were arranged for us were perfect. The tours were interesting and the views were amazing. Lunch was also arranged at the first vineyard, which catered to our vegetarian diets. We were nervous and didn't know what to expect but after having done the tour, that was silly of us to worry. We were taken care of and had everything we needed. The mini van was also comfortable and spacious for the 4 of us. The boat tour is likely the only negative of the trip, but mostly b/c the weather was chilly and rainy that it wasn't really a fun ride. I recommend the private tour to anyone considering it as it allows you to move at your own pace a bit and can pivot as necessary.
